you said the highway entrance doesn't apper on "other maps." So I was wondering what maps you were looking at that show the entrances to Bonnaroo.
The map that people are given each year when they arrive have the special or "secret" entrance off the highway. There is one floating around on these boards somewhere.
I believe you're referring to the VIP directions that lead to the KOA (where the VIP entrance is). It's a back way to get to Exit 114, which they block off sometime Thursday.

I am pretty sure that ya'll are talking about exit 112. It is not secret at all - special yes - in that they only use it for Bonnaroo - the rest of the year it is "not there" (I am pretty sure this is correct - we may need a local to verify this)
Last year - we did not go in exit 112 - we went in another exit and had to double back but when we left - we left straight out Exit 112

I'm confused this is exactly why I was saying It's not a secret, b/c it is visible on the map. anyways, I'll drop this, but just to say Bonnaroo has no secret entrance, excpet for VIP which isn't even really that secret anymore.

Well I didn't know we were going to get technical over a word. It's an alternate entrance/exit only used for Bonnaroo and is not on google maps, therefore making it special/secret/holy/insert-word-here.

They will end up opening the gates even tho they say they won't - I know it says they will turn you away - but they won't - they cannot have all that traffic backed up - so they go ahead and open - by going in Wednesdaynight tho - you guarantee a sope in BFE for camping

"They won't break me because the desire for freedom, and the freedom of the Irish people, is in my heart. The day will dawn when all the people of Ireland will have the desire for freedom to show. It is then that we will see the rising of the moon."
I will be the old guy wandering around with the 15 yaer old girl,
Well now that just didnt sound right...
shame shame fenian - it's his daughter! I think it is awesome that he is taking her - my 14 yo wants to go and I told her no way in hell was she going with me - I love her but this is my vacation away from the kids

Oh I know, but I had to point out the easily twisted words he used. It is awesome that he is taking her, I wish my parents were that cool.
Actually, my old man probably would have taken me to something like this had the situation come about...

Your a good dad Smeman
I thank you both. She however may offer a slightly different opinion. She tries her best to get around me and hates it when she gets caught. I had to pull the cell and the lap top. She was someplce she didn't let me or her mother know she was. Went to a movie and didn't tell any one.She can go to all the movies she likes. We just have to know. got a good reaction by making this strike two and Bonnaroo would go at three. She is now working for delayed sainthood.
couple years from now she will realize what you did, and learn to appreciate it. when she has kids, it will hit her even more. I look back at some of the things that happened to me growing up, and some of the worst things my father ever did to me, were really some of the best things hes ever done for me. At the time I hated him for it, now I thank God I had somebody like him so solid in his conviction to do the right thing by me no matter the cost. I walked out the front door and didnt go back to him for 6 months and he never once wavered from his stance, and he was right, and I am glad he did what he did. I am a much better person for it.
sorry didnt mean to go on like that.... Ill shutup now!

What I don't understand is how you can buy your ticket for 4 days and either have to chose to sleep in your car for a night, or forfeit a day of music. If they are going to do this, they should let people buy a 3 day pass. Why are we being penalized just because we are not camping there??

Dude hanging out at a walmart (a cop rolls up) normally he would run you off but instead he says "Gates are open" Now thats cool.. most cops dont tend to like being just hanging out in parking lots.. I like it when they play "Good Cop" Its nice to see that. I heard last year some of the guys that worked Searching at the gates grabbed some beers from these underage kids. (Glass bottles anyways) the cops put them in crusier to save for later. They said "We'll keep em cold if you share" hahaha how badass is that. Only at BOONNAROOOOOOO

Could you not just leave? Are they barracading(sp) the vehicles.... Would they void your ticket or something? That really sucks that you pay for all that and then miss alot of music.
One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain. So hit me with music. Hit me with music, now, yeah. Hit me with music. Brutalize me with music.
I guess I've got a big learning curve with the Roo.
We bought VIP tickets and a hotel package on the first day they went on sale (which after reading this board is an oxymoron).
We decided that we would use the hotel room as an insurance policy and camp most of the weekend (in case of rain, or wanting to sleep somewhere in the heat of the morning as a recharge).
The problem is I thought there would be a shuttle, which now I understand there isn't unless you bought the Roo complete package.
My question if anyone knows or has done this before:
Is it not worth it to leave the grounds at all or is there the possibility to leave easily on early morning Friday and or Saturday if you are in the VIP or regular campgrounds?
smeman, i am going to spend the night in Monteagle on Wed. I can give ya a ride in from Wally-World. The downside is I am in a Nissan Ex-cab. Your daughter would have to scrunch into the back. Karma for the joint pain, I have it too. My wife thinks it an age thing. Get with me.
