Because of the high volume of people entering the festival on Thursday night and Friday morning, vehicles will not be permitted to leave the festival and then re-enter the event grounds until after Friday evening at 9:00 PM. If you are planning on being a day parker, you will be allowed into the event on Thursday, but you should be prepared to camp on-site for Thursday night.
For more information regarding our re-entry policy, please refer to the 2007 Bonnaroo Info Guide, located on www.bonnaroo.com.
I am looking on their site now and I cannot find anything that talks about that? I will be using day parking and do not plan on staying in my car Thursday night? This is the link I found on their site about day parkers: www.bonnaroo.com/2007-re-entry-policy

I emailed them about this and got no response. I had emailed them before and was told Day Parking was available on Thursday, but not that I would have to stay overnight. On the ticket in tiny print it says there is no Day Parking on Thursday.
There seems to have been confusion about Day Parking from the start and they really need to explain it a little better on the Bonnaroo site.
I'm sure it's just confusion, why would you have a day parking policy that required you to camp on Thursday night? I always thought that the re-entry policy was only applicable to campers and enabled them to keep a one-way flow of traffic in during the peak times and avoid the double entry of folks just popping down to Wal-Mart.
In several other cases people have reported here confusing e-mails from Customer Service only to have then corrected by a second enquiry. Good luck, man.
Re read my post at the top. This is an answer to an email I sent to Bonnaroo asking about day parking\leaving the site. It appears that we are trapped. I can't help but wonder if this is legal. I sent a pm to lawyer roo but have not heard back yet.
Smeman, like the post before your last one stated, it's probably just confusion on the part of the person that replied. I've received conflicting responses from one question answered by 2 different people.
Email again and see what they say this time. They have to let out day campers that show up with no equipment. They'd be stuck there sleeping on the grass. It says nothing about being stuck until Friday night on their website, either.
It took over a week for me to get the last reply. Bet they are running seriously to answer all the last minute questions. But for yo Oleander, I will try.
This is a stupid rule. Why would anyone be a day parker and still have to camp one night? It kind of defeats the purpose of being a day parker! I would tell them why you can't sleep there and see how they feel making someone sleep in pain.
However, if you don't want to be there on Thursday night and show up early on Friday, then you probably won't leave until after 9pm that night anyway, thereby following the rule!
I can see the point from traffic but it seems they should have made better provisions for day parking on Thursday if they were going to have music starting Thursday night
No such luck I was planning on showing up to be first in line Thursday. My daughter(15) is almost as excited as I am. Lots of people to meet and things to see. I am asking on another thread about a plce to park in Manchester and take a cab or something. Hope springs eternal.

I am Day Parking and won't be going now on Thursday because I have 2 dogs at home I need to take care of. I also hate camping so I will just skip Thursday. Kinda sucks but maybe next year they will have this cleared up.
"Until Friday evening at 9:00 PM, vehicles will not be permitted to leave the festival and then re-enter the event grounds. This means that if your vehicle leaves, it will not be allowed to re-enter. After Friday evening, if you wish to leave the grounds in your vehicle and then return, you will have to leave through special security gates. At this gate, we will register your vehicle when you leave, and you will get a pass to re-enter. You will only be allowed to leave and then reenter with your vehicle once over the weekend. Upon returning you will only be able to reenter with your vehicle through the gate you left, and will be subject to a thorough vehicle search as if you are entering the site for the first time.
This policy will not affect day parkers. They will be allowed to enter and leave through a separate tollbooth on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. To get to the tollbooth for day parkers use exit 111 from I-24 and follow the signs to the festival. If exit 111 is closed, follow police instructions and then follow the signs to day parking."
Please note that the days mentioned begin at Friday. This still leaves me without a way out to my hotel on Thursday. The hotel package that I purchased through Bonnaroo and was required to buy Thursday night through Sunday night. So they deny me the way to use a nights reservation that I was required , by them, to buy.

I know it says Friday, I was just showing you what it said.
I would tell them what you just said in that email. This policy is ridiculous, imo.
Ok...for some reason I really care about this new policy and how it's affecting those that bought hotel rooms and can't enter the festival without leaving. People are being screwed because they either have to miss a night of shows or a night already paid for. Was this mentioned when you bought the tickets? What about the people that come for day parking and are then told they can't leave and have no means to sleep other than their cars?
Something's not right here.
I emailed, too...see if they respond to me before next Tuesday and I'll let you know.
You wouldn't want to leave the festival those days anyway, b/c you would be stuck in traffic not once, but twice. That happenned to some people that we were camped next to in 03. They got in thursday after a 6 hour wait. They got set up, then decided to hit up Wal-Mart, so they left, and ended up sitting in another 6 hours of traffic to get back in.
Suggestion - Park offsite on thursday, then walk or hitchhike in. Then you can leave as you please. Obviously you'll have to walk, but it's better than either missing thursday or skipping out on one night of your hotel room.
Yeah, they've had the "no re-entry if you come in Thursday" policy for at least 3 years now.
I think it stinks, but I see their reasoning from a traffic perspective. We had to skip Thursday night in 2005 and we bought the hotel package through them too.
You can still attend the festival on Thursday and still have your hotel room, you just can't drive in and out the the venue (kind of a catch-22 due the the size of the festival, but I'm sure that's what they'd say).
