When DSO plays here they sell out 2 nites in a row while Rat Dog doesn't sell out one at the same club in the same year. Don't get me wrong, not critical of either, I was at both shows, and will be at Rat Dog at Roo, just pointing out the irony of a cover band (albeit a great one) selling more tickets than a band with a guy who was actually in the band.

Please see how the spirit of the roo has gone past but not left behind the jam scene.
My Morning Jacket who have made the roo so special in the past, Wilco this year (the new Wilco album has a real Dead feel to it), and even the Flaming Lips -- try to look at how newer bands carry on the spirit without conforming to the jam religion.
Friday, I can dance to Manu Chao, rip my face off to TOOL, then bring the dawn by moving between STS9, and String Cheese. How great is that?

I was talking about the 9:30 club,dso- two days sold out, rat dog-one day not sold out. but you are probably right about the state theater. Geez it's silly 2 deadheads arguing about nothing, I am gonna shut up now, peace.
That's very true...Panic has been there every year but 1...and they had 2 nights in '05. Not to say anything against the dead, but Panic has been the more consistent attendee to Bonnaroo

Widespread as a band has been more consistent attendee. But they were not there in '04 or last year. The Grateful Dead have had a presence at every Bonnaroo. 2002-Phil Lesh and Friends W/ Bob Weir 2003 & 2004-The Dead 2005-Bob Weir and Ratdog 2006-Phil Lesh and Friends and now 2007-Bob Weir and Ratdog
"We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, movie gods, and rock stars. But we wont, and we're slowly learning that fact & we're very, very pissed off......."
That's right...I forgot they weren't there last year. And to be honest... The Dead show on Sat night of '04...in the rain...that was probably the best show I've ever been to in my life!! There was a glowstick war during that show that lit up the entire sky...it's a pretty tough life when we have to complain about who we've liked seeing more over time...year after year....panic and the dead...and so much more
my guess is we will see bobby and franti at kellers show. and of course keller at sci. damn i cant wait to get the hell out of here and on my way to roo!!!!!!!
and dont forget about phil playing with mule. IT WILL HAPPEN!!!

whaaaat? Phil at b'roo? I have always had a soft spot for Phil....Ahhh, I remember the days when we would chant: LET PHIL SING. hmm. Showing my age again.
We saw the first (in a long time) box of rain at Hampton (was it hampton?) and after that I knew I had reached Dead Heaven!
well its really just wishful thinking by me. but phil mad a date to meets us back at roo this year. and he played with mule at mountain jam a coup[le of weekends ago. so i think its atleast a little bit of s podibility that he will show up at roo. ive got my fingers crossed!!!
