I sent an email to the AoSaS asking if they were going to be at Bonnaroo this year. This is what I got as a reply:
"hi lauren, charlie smith here we have been cut form the line up of attractions this year? we were asked to don size and cut the performances and just do an art installation then we were cut entirely from the line up "due to lack of ticket sales"?we never really have been adequatley financed by the event and its been primarily a labor of love we are saddened by the decisions that have been made and this year i fear that it is truly gonna be a mu sick festival only? please keep up with us as we will be doiing a major show in atlanta in the fall oct 9th 30th and nov 20th @ eyedrum gallery hope you can join us then and spread the word... mr yucky charlie over n out"
So damn. We will miss you and your crazy fire antics AoSaS.

If I lived closer to Atlanta I would totally go. AoSaS was one of my favorite things about Bonnaroo. I'm sad to see them go. Er...not return. I wonder what they're going to do with all that space in the back now.

I feel like if you're going to boot one of your most prominent art installations, that the worst decision you could make is putting a quacking big corporate tent where it used to be.
I know you liked this art, but I think you'll like this tent you can't enter better. Oh but you want IN the tent? Give Chase (who you've already bailed out with your tax dollars) more money and we'll talk.

Holy crap I had completely forgotten about the Adult Swim thing. Still not as cool as smoke rings and Texas Zippos, but it would be better than that CF tent taking up space.

That is indeed depressing but hard times happen and they will get better and things will return. At least we have each other, the family that carries on.

I guess their ticket sales were piss poor this year to have to get rid of something like that. I can just hope that they decide to come back another year.
Sad to be loosing another iconic Bonnaroo piece. Hope they are brought back in the future and not added to the list of casualties (i.e. The mardi gras parade with Mr. T and the dragon, the costume party, sonic forest)
