u guys should message each other for crying out loud
Sorry son. Haters gonna hate, and all that.
Freddie Gibbs: I don't get the hype. He's decent, but what I've heard of him isn't anything mindblowing. I also don't know what his live show is like, so no idea whether or not he'd be a good fit. Did he play at Pitchfork this year?
Yes he did, I believe he was part of SXSW too. I've yet to find any quality audio/video recordings so I can't really say much about his live show other than his flow is consistent and not just produced in the studio, as he has a good delivery live, its not choppy or shouty and he doesn't get out of breath easy, from what I've heard.
I had listened to him here and there before, but the Str8 Killa, No Filla mixtape is what sold me for good. I'd check it out in full if you are still on the fence about him. The Miseducation of Freddie Gibbs is good, as well.

Yea, he's good, but not for everybody. His style is a little on the grimey side and can be a little rough around the edges, but his delivery and flow is on point. He has some good subject matter too, its not all gangster raps. But check out Miseducation of Freddie Gibbs, Midwestgangstaboxframecadillacmuzik, and give Str8 Killa another listen before you give up on him.
Finally someone let me out of my cage. Now time for me is nothing 'cause I'm counting no age. No, I couldn't be there. No, you shouldn't be scared. I'm good at repairs and I'm under each snare. Intangible, bet you didn't think, so I command you to. Panoramic view, look I'll make it all manageable. Pick and choose, sit and lose, all you different crews. Chicks and dudes, who you think is really kicking tunes? Picture you getting down in a picture tube, Like you lit the fuse. You think it's fictional? Mystical, maybe. Spiritual hero who appears in you to clear your view when you're too crazy. Lifeless, to those the definition for what life is. Priceless to you because I put you on the hype shit. You like it? Gun smoking, righteous, with one token psychic Among those, possess you with one go. --- I was like 13 when that song came out, I loved that shit. Used to know all the words, but the above is definitely a copy-and-paste job.

deltron 3030 event ii is slated to be released in the next few months, but with that album who knows, its worse than detox. in august he said it was almost done and then i guess at a festival at red rocks in september he said it was done.
if it gets released before roo they BETTER be there. deltron 3030=the best hip hop album of all time
Cee-lo is cool, but I would rather see him with the rest of Goodie Mob
THIS. and I have to admit its weird to me that folks didn't know of Cee-Lo till Gnarls Barkley but his Goodie Mob/Dungeon Family tracks are incredible points in the Southern rap scene.
"Lady Killer" is alright but feels so ... "post" Gnarls Barkley = "...Is the Soul Machine"/"..and his Perfect Imperfections" just hit me better.

This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

SIAP, but with Black Eyed Peas playing the halftime for Super Bowl and just released an album...does anybody think they're this year's big rap headliner?

They aren't rap anymore. I would barely consider them a form of hip hop, although I have no idea what their albums sound like, I'm just basing that statement off of the singles I have heard in recent years. Too me they sound like dance pop. I put them in the same boat with Kesha and Beyonce and stuff like that.

B.O.B was one of my favourite sets last year her was great!!! Wale was the most disappointing by far. As far as hip hop goes for 2011 my wish list:
Eminem- Saw him at the Home and Home tour in Detroit and then again at the Epicenter Music Festival in Cali. He was amazing he would be great at Roo he wouldn’t disappoint!
B.O.B- Like I said one of the best sets in my opinion last year I hope the bring him back
Lupe Fiasco- Very articulate and educated hip hop artist I think his style would fit in well at Roo
Jay-Z and Linkin Park- Enough said!
Wiz Khalifa- I think he would fit in well with the bonnarro vibe
Kanye West- I am sure I will get serious leno points for this, but his new album is amazing.
