I maybe would've liked to see Wayne on the farm a few years ago, but I think he's gotten pretty stale lately. Never really listened to a lot Em, but then again wasn't this guy making like bratty, in your face rap when i was in middle school? I cant really imagine what he's up to these days. The two have them have played Voodoo the past two years, and while i missed both sets, plenty of people i know saw both, and I heard both performances were pretty bad.
Saw Devin the Dude and the Coughee Brothaz the other night, that was a really fun show, bring them to the farm instead

Wrong. If Lil' Wayne was booked for say, Coachella, it would be lauded as a forward thinking move by that festival. Critics and hipsters love little Wayne. If he was booked for Bonnaroo, the only people who would hate it would be the elitist, white, faux-hippies who think that music can't be any good if it gets on the radio.
Really, the views of people on this board when it comes to hip-hop are extremely suspect.
I like a lot of stuff that is on the radio. The thought of hearing "Lollipop" on the Farm just makes me want to cringe. I just think there is a huge difference in credibility and authenticity between the likes of Jay-Z/Nas/Kanye and Lil' Wayne. Even my friends that like hip-hop think that Lil' Wayne is decent at best. I don't even know if I've ever heard a good thing about Lil' Wayne live. To me, he's a joke of a musician that makes fun songs for frat parties.
Wayne, in my opinion, is just too "commercial" (all of his songs are about (a) himself, (b) sex, or (c) alcohol) and his live show isn't even that good, compared to other rap artists that Bonnaroo has booked.

I went to the Boston stop of Rock The Bells festival three years ago. Wu Tang headlined, with Nas, Cypress Hill, and Talib Kweli under. Plus Jedi Mind Tricks, Pharoahe Monche (sp.?), and Immortal Technique on the undercard.
Just about anything from a Rock the Bells lineup would fit for good festival hip-hop.

They have been built from a person into a brand by their labels.

He big didn't get big until he BIT off of underground mexican mc's style. The way he was semi rapping talking bout crazy shit, the slow beats, the inflections, all stolen.
Lil Wayne has been riding the Big Tymers coat tails who rode Juvenile's coat tails. Isn't he just doing their gig for them? Basically he got his break from being the next moron in line after their respective careers were over.
