I got the pleasure of meeting Matt at the brunch last year. As MMJJ and I walked up, he handed me a cookie and smiled and said welcome to the brunch.
I want to remember his spirit as well as his kindness. Also, please be on the lookout for anoyone who looks dehydrated or needs help, even if they are not an Infoorooster. If we all look out for one another, we can all make it back OK.

Bump. Gone but not forgotten. How is the tree doing now that its been over 10 years. I still wear my sanuks because of Matt, but his model is no longer available.

The tree is still there. We just are not sure WHICH tree it is. They have planted a bunch since then. We think we know. The ones that were planted for other Inforoosters inside Centeroo are easy to find. I wish we could put a plaque on Matt's tree, but since it is outside Centeroo it would be gone pretty quick. Just like the sanuks we hung from it.
I still have my sanuks. I wore them out and bought several more pairs. But I always keep the original. And Matt's picture always comes up in my FB feed this time of year and makes me sad.

If my (bad) memory serves me, his tree was right near the clocktower. I think I have a photo with the sanuks in it from the year it was planted, but I'd have to go through a bunch of photos to maaaybe find it.

If we are not doing any sort of get together there, I wonder if we should decorate it in someway this year early on, so that the rest of us can find it easily. I know we get in on Wed sometime. I'd be up for meeting someone late Wed/Early Thursday and pinpointing it.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

We just aren’t sure which tree it is anymore. Last year I was at Roo (2016), we believe it was fenced in and not accessible to the public.
Also, Steph sent an email to Root4Roo and it bounced back We are still decorating Mike and Kate’s tress (and yours of course) but no photo opp.

Yes, making decorations for his tree while I work on the others!

As long as they haven’t changed the roads, I can find the tree.my camp was right next to it for three years when I was with my ex that used a CPAP. That first row is where the ran the extension cords.

JHo, no photo opp is kinda my fault as I moved to CO the past 2 years and sorta bowed out of the tree program when I moved. I am not sure exactly where the program is right now, but I feel like it was sorta on life support when I left and my last couple of years involved I felt like I was dragging it along in spite of, not because of, the Roo folks.
As luck would have it (or bad luck maybe??) the last 2 years have been a Roo bust. Now that I'm back in TN, I am planning on reaching out to some old contacts internally to try and revamp the program. I know there's been some turnover the last few years. Jeff, Nina and Kelsey are no longer with AC/Roo, and have since moved on to other endeavors.
Hopefully I can find some traction before 2022 Roo and maybe see all you beautiful people again for a Thur photo shoot at the trees.
Hope everyone has been safe and well through all the crazy shit of the last couple years.

Can't even begin to tell you all how much I've missed you all. LLL, I miss your beautiful soul. Pondo, I still to this day carry my PondoArmy card in my wallet.
Yes, I hope to be around much more now that I'm back in the neighborhood and hopefully see all the wonderful Inforoo peeps in June.
While the participation may wane, the love for this family never dies!
