I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but it was already posted in the thread Worst Bonnaroo Ever. I have been told that it is confirmed that we have lost an inforoo board member at Bonnaroo and I met him last year at the inforoo brunch.
I am not sure if I should be posting who it is yet, it's someone with over 1000 posts and it should be officially out before its released unofficially. I can't directly confirm it.
Here is the article in the news. Heat related is what the news says.
That sucks man...the people I were camped too said they saw the guy being put on the cart and drove away. That article said his core temp was 108! Wow! RIP
Matt will be cremated in Nashville and his family plans to return home on Wed. A memorial service will be held on Sat., June 19th at 10:00 am at Saint Andrews on the Sound in Wilm, NC. His ashes will be scattered at 4pm on Sat. June 19th at Sander's Point at Trinity Center in Salter Path, NC. Please consider coming to celebrate Matt--a beautiful spirit that touched so many of us, albeit for too short of a time.

im sorry meg...i didnt mean to make like i was his best friend. sorry about that... but.. i did talk to him online and i always joked with him at the bruches
Oh - i didn't mean it that way - I just meant that we all knew him in some way or another - whether it was here - on FB or at brunch or IRL - he will be very very missed - he always had a smile for everyone
I would write something fresh, but I am a hot mess right now. This is from my Facebook that I just posted:
For all my Inforoo friends, I have some bad new. One of our own has passed away this morning. Many of you know him as Carpedm01 or in real life as Matt He was found dead due to heat stroke. I didn't know him all that well, but I have met him once and was a regular on our board. I do know that he was at a place he loved when he passed away and I am sure he is rocking out with the greats. He is and will always be apart of the Inforoo Family. My heart goes to his family and friends. R.I.P Matt.
I am sad beyond tears.... Matt will be dearly missed. His kindness and humor were always such a welcome addition to this board and to the Roo family in general. I will miss you my friend. Peace be with you and your family.

i found out about matt as i was leaving bonnaroo today. we first talked 2 years ago when i joined the board and we bonded over our love of the alison krauss/robert plant album.
we met for the first time in real life on friday at the brunch. roofan, him and myself enjoyed some circle time and then he gave me a cookie for the road.
as mentioned before, i like to believe that he was at a place that he loved and not all of us will be so lucky when we die. he had mentioned that he had already seen a handful of shows that he rocked out at.
There was not enough water available at Bonnaroo this year!! I was absolutely disgusted and I'm writing a letter of complaint to the production offices. There were only 2 watering stations in Centeroo and 9 water stations at pods without drinkable water. I had to wait in line over 45 minutes in Centeroo to fill up my canteen. This young man's death could have been avoidable! How hard it is to install more watering stations. Profit over accessibility?
Oh my God. I cannot believe this. I was never lucky enough to meet Matt in person, but consider him a very very good internet friend. I just don't know what to say right now.

Losing one of our own has been a huge shock for me. Carp was a fixture here and at the brunch. I know we'll all miss him and what he brought to our world.
Just of respect to the family and Matt, lets not try to leak private info about him (last name/birth place for example)but feel free to share stories. Thanks a bunch
