Opeth and Deftones are the two I think would have the best shot out of all of the bands mentioned, and the two I would hope do make it out of them all. I would kill for a late night, two hour Opeth set.
As much as I love BTBAM, I don't think I'd wanna see them at Roo. Animals as Leaders doesn't really seem to fit in either, as much as I love them as well.
Others I didn't see mentioned: Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Converge (I know, not metal, but fits better than any other thread), Cynic, Devin Townsend, Mono, and 3.
Machinehead ---> Deftones: LN Tent action Black Label Society: Midday Which or What, new album is amazing Otep ---> Sevendust: Daytime Tent Fear Factory: Late Night
I saw Fear Factory back in June, and they are pretty good. But they aren't getting a late night slot. Thursday evening or Sunday afternoon most likely.
They have played in Worcester (Mass.) recently, and will again in October. I ought to catch them around one of these days. Maybe not this go round since I'd have work on Friday nights most likely.
But, I heard them get played on the metal show on a college radio station in Connecticut. Sounded good. I hear they're from Murfreesboro, so it'd be like a hometown show to play 'Roo.

Black Flag reunion, albeit unlikely, would be NICCCCCCCCE. Not sure if Black Flag could be classified as metal, though; I personally would say that's a little bit of a stretch.
Also, Kylesa, High on Fire, and Torche are currently all on tour together. They should just all come to Roo next year (although that tour will probably be wrapped up by then).

High on Fire is good stuff. I saw them at a little club in Connecticut back in the spring, and it might have been one of the better shows I've seen this year.
Bison BC (who was the first band playing on this bill) may have outdone the rest of the card however.

That would be unbelievable if they could get Opeth and Iron Maiden. Also, The sword has replaced their drummer and are back on the road so they would be a possibility. so here is is my dream metal/prog metal roo lineup:
Iron Maiden Opeth Mastodon Porcupine Tree The Sword (Ill see them for the first time since roo 08 in Dec and cannot wait) Baroness I have seen all of these bands but Opeth live and they are all great live bands. Honestly Mastodon was the weakest live. They were really good, but the others are just that great. I would go to Bonnaroo if that were the only artists playing. Realistically we may get one or two of those
The Sword (once they get a new drummer) Baroness (since they're better than any band you think is good) Valient Thorr (because they'd be the coolest Thursday night show ever) Sunn O))) (because its near unlistenable) and the trumphant return of Mastodon.
