Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Garage, where did you see that Dam-Funk's Sunday set is a DJ set? I see it on the schedule, but I don't see where it clarifies that it's a DJ set...does that mean one of Deacon's sets is a DJ set as well?
That Javelin late night/early morning set is going to be an obscene amount of fun. I'm not too familiar with Bonobo or Pnuma Trio, but I might check those out, too. It's so insane how awesome this fest is gonna be. Maybe the best fest this year that isn't Roo, Coachella, or Lolla. But that might be pushing it. ACL is pretty intense...
I'll be there for Bonobo, I hope. 828 is wicked small for the ammount of people that will wanna see him.
I thought it was strange how they worded it too. Either way I'm there. I just saw Elliott Lipp a few weeks ago so I'll feel ok about skipping Dark Party.
Dan Deacon's first set is supposed to be an "ambient analog Moog set" and the second Dam-Funk set is a DJ set (I imagine he'll be spinning some funk jams). Pretty psyched they put Javelin after girl talk. Caught them at Hopscotch and they were excellent. Still curious about that slot after Massive Attack. Here's hoping for Flying Lotus
Oh that would be reaaaaal nice. That would mean missing Four Tet though...
Also that ambient analog set from Dan Deacon sounds incredibly enticing. Have I told you guys how excited I am for this? ;D
Four Tet or Flying Lotus, I feel, is a win-win situation. Either way, you're going to get fucked in the ears by awesome sounds. But I won't be disappointed if he doesn't get added, cause Four Tet is chill jams.
I really want to check that ambient Deacon set out, too. If my girlfriend's friend winds up coming with us, I'm just going to let them go to Octopus Project and I'll just catch the second half of their set.
Hm that Friday TBA actually might happen for me if they were put there. I can stand to miss Girl Talk and Panda Bear. I guess it all depends on how the evening is going. Anyway, completely unrelated note, this video has been getting pretty steady rotation for me:
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver
If you see Panda Bear at Moog, you might be tempted to leave in the first 5-10 minutes to go see something else. Don't. When I saw him, I wasn't feeling it at first, but the further into the set he got the more amazing it sounded. It grows on you like crazy, for whatever reason. Luckily, since I saw him a month ago, I can afford to miss his set at Moog for Girl Talk, who I've never seen live

I thought that was a good show too (at Hopscotch). He was even better at Pitchfork, a show that a lot of people unfairly trashed (guess they were expecting My Girls?). I imagine in Wolfe Auditorium, he'll sound amazing. When Fuck Buttons opened for Pixies, it was incredible. The sound just filled the room.

I loved Fuck Buttons opening for the Pixies, too. Both the sound and the light show was awesome. All I kept thinking during that whole set was how awesome that place is going to be for Moog.

On the subject of confusion and rally cries, I remember when Kevin Youkilis first made it to the majors. His first at-bat was at Fenway, and when he come to the plate, it sounded like the crowd was booing him. Jerry Remy and Don Orsillo, the Red Sox announcers for NESN, were naturally very confused until they realized that the crowd was actually chanting "Yooooooooooouk" and a new nickname was born.

On the topic of MoogFest, if Shpongle is put in that open Friday slot, that means we'll get a decent-size act for the Saturday slot after Massive Attack. If they get the Saturday slot, it means another smaller act for Friday. Regardless, I'm looking forward to seeing who the last act is

Simon Posford is Shpongle in the U.S. touring sense. Raja doesn't tour here. When he played Richmond a week or so ago it was a 500 capacity club that was filled 1/3 of the way. I still think he will be playing the small club and not the ACC spot.
Keep up the hope for Flying Lotus.

^ Nice. I was thinking about Band Of Horses, but it's pretty expensive. If anybody's down though I'd probably still go.
Also, just got this e-mail regarding DJ Spooky's set. It's sounds really interesting.
DJ Spooky/Paul D. Miller will be performing at MoogFest 2010 in Asheville, NC. His performance is at the Orange Peel on Sunday October 31st at 9 PM. His set will include an excerpt from his chamber music composition "Music of Many Universes", performed with a woodwind quartet of players who live in and around Asheville. "Music of Many Universes" is a multimedia performance that Miller is developing with physicist/author Brian Greene. Excerpts have been presented at Greene's World Science Festival in NYC and at SXSW in Austin, TX.
Earlier in the evening, Miller will perform as a special guest of Headtronix, with Bernie Worrell and Freekbass. That show will be at 6 pm at the Orange Peel as well.
Due to circumstances beyond our control Cee Lo Green is canceling his appearance at Moogfest. His management has extended his European tour which will prevent Cee Lo from performing at Moogfest.
