So I can't really bank on my friend moving down to Asheville, so... I'm trying to think if a cheap hotel is good or a vacation rental (maybe even with a hot tub?) Hmm... decisions decisions!
Could get a house thats walking distance or a pretty cabin out in the mountains 10 minutes or so away. So much to choose from, and SO pretty down there! I'm excited!
I am still waiting on the line-up, but me and another inforooster has already looked into a cabin. We found one with 3 bedrooms for $400 for 3 nights.
Yeah. I love cabins. The only issue is making sure theres enough people to split the cost so it's not too expensive and then making sure we can pay the deposit (although, its refundable if no damage and whatnot). Right now, I've been using my credit card too much and makes me nervous puttin another big expense on there, and apparently many of my friends don't even own credit cards, lol. I'm sure I'll figure somethin out. It's just a matter of really figurin out what area I want to stay. If we're willing to drive back to the cabin or want something walking distance.
Pretty damn solid. Sunday is a little weak, but it isn't going to save me any clams to buy two single day tickets, so I might as well get the 3 day pass. 150 bones is quite reasonable.
Edit: Some serious gems in there for me... The Octopus Project, Four Tet, School Of Seven Bells, Panda Bear, Dan Deacon, Hot Chip. Awesome price too. Come oooooon Friday.

Well, the 1 thing that concerns me (aside from distance and missing the late acts on Sunday cause I have class Monday morning) is that I hear the venues don't all hold a ton of people. The Civic Center holds a good deal around 75k, but the Orange Peel is about 1000 people from what I read and Thomas Wolfe Auditorium is only 2500, so you wouldnt be guaranteed to see the shows in the smaller venues. They should announce what venues each group is playing at. Then again, I didn't really think about this until someone wrote on Facebook, lol...
Now that I read Moogfest's Facebook comments, I see they're still in the process of working out logistics though, so I'm hopeful. Said they have a few more artists to add to the lineup (I'm assuming smaller names) and a few more venues to add too.
Well, they cant overload a venue though...youll get let in if there's space, but what if the smaller venues are too packed? You'd miss the show, ya know? I'm hoping though that they'd use the Civic Center mainly... and maybe find some bigger venues to add to the list. I dunno.
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver

Asheville Civic Center holds about 7,500...not 75k. That would be massive. The numbers on the other venues are about right.
It states on the ticket information page that admission is not guaranteed for each show. They must adhere to the fire code at the venues, so there is a one-in, one-out system once the venue reaches capacity. This is an issue. The only answer to this problem is to split the crowd, which leads to conflict hell.
