Holls and MMJJ are both tentative now I do believe. InfoReggae is gonna be maxin the awesomeness TO THE MAAAAAAAAAXXXXX
AWESOME LIKE A GIANT T-REX
I had holls as certain because of something she said in the arcade. Leads me to believe she will be there. I heard today that MMJJ is probably not going, though she will be in Nashville that weekend... which in turns means Viking is probably not going... which in turn means I'm a sad panda.
Good lord willing and the creek don't rise, I'll be there with bells on!
Seriously, I'll need some happy irie vibes: my hot little "chicken tender" is leaving to go to Europe for a year then...so let's get together & feel alright!

@ Popsicle, I called Marla this afternoon and I'm all set, just gotta send her a $25 money order, which means I'll be working pretty damn cheap, but that's OK.
I also talked to Kylie from W.E.T. today, and I'll be working Site Ops pre-fest at Blackwater next week, so now I'm trying to figure out whether to just come home for a couple of days in between, or head north after BW as planned. Probably will do the latter, as I am sick of being home. ;D
@ Holly, YAY! looking forward to meeting you. @ Mike D, don't forget the Scotch.

When are you supposed to arrive @ CR? And what will you be doing? It cost you $25 to volunteer? Hopefully they don't have you doing much. You can arrive @ CR as early as you want I think... did you ask?

I'm not sure what I'll be doing, but I'll work 4 hours a day all 3 days. She asked about my volunteer exp. and I just gave her a general overview of what I've done. I didn't ask what I'd be doing. Usually you just let them know what you can do, and leave it up to them to put you where they need you.
I didn't think to ask how early I could come, but there's still time to figure that out. I'll be getting more info by email. Not that good a deal financially, when you consider that Bonnaroo costs $25 to volunteer at. But I'm OK with it. If I like the place, which I'm pretty sure I will, maybe I'll get a better deal next time. With Clean Vibes, I went from paying $25 + $250 deposit for Roo to no money down for All Good. Still thinking about RALAK Fest the following weekend at Black Mountain, NC the week after CR, and another at Shakori Hills the week after that.

I guess now might be a good time to ask what we need in the way of tables etc. The folding tables at AG were nice, but I have no idea whose they were. I groundscored a 20" by 48" folding table at AG CV camp. I think I'll bring that and my little plastic kids' table I had at Camp InfoGood. I've got my canopy too, coleman one-burner, and a coleman propane griddle. I don't know if anyone else plans to do any cooking, but I do ...probably. I'll be prepared to anyway.
I know that Teri and Sarah have cooking supplies and will prolly be set up pretty good. Sarah has a fairly sturdy folding table, 2 easy ups, I am bringing a tarp or two to hang as well. I typically tend to bring all sorts of cooking stuff, but buy poptarts, granola bars, and sandwich meats. I know we will have pots and pans too.

OK, sounds good. I guess the table I remember from AG was Sarah's. I may bring mine too since I'll be there tomorrow night, and may camp another night on the way back home. So I'll set up my canopy when I get there, and either stake down a couple of extra tents or just put down my 10x20 tarp next to it to save space. How many tents do we expect to have in this camp, once everyone's set up?
Sarah and I will have one roughly 10x12 i think, one for Teri that is 8x9 and I am not sure about Hollie's tent. You may wanna call or txt Sarah cause she has a specific spot that she likes to camp. Seeing how I haven't been yet, I couldn't tell ya where it is other than it is next to where a guy named Mike that is a regular camps which is at the top of or just on the other side of the ridge around the stage and fire pit. We are going to call Hollie and Teri tonight to iron out some of the other details.

Yeah there is a specific place we like to camp. Right as you go through the gate there is a path immediately to the left (before you go down the hill). That path leads all the way to the overlook. This is path would be considered "at the top of the bowl". You'll see what I mean when you get there. There's pretty clear campsites til you get about half way down the path, then it gets pretty woodsy where you can just camp anywhere. In May we took some space a little before you get to the overlook, on the left side of where the "path" would be. Anywhere back there would be fine with me because I think the campsites at the beginning of the trail are too small to accommodate our group.
Between Mike, Hollie, Teri and myself we will have an EZ-up and three tents. (Mike thinks Hollie has an EZ-up too). Since we will be cooking most of our food tables are always great. We don't have to use them if they aren't needed. If we end up having 3 EZ-ups, I like the idea of having a "kitchen ez-up" like at All Good.
I was just telling Mike about the little kids table the other day. That thing is PERFECT!
Dale, I saw on FB that you are sick. Dude, I hope you start feeling better soon
sadly, although I initially planned to go if I was off (which I am)....I can't go.
long story but the gist of it is that my husband is ill and I'm needed closer to home. Although I am taking off with the girls and going to the lakehouse an hour and a half away...a little quieter and more accessible in case he needs anything. He's giving up both tobacco and alcohol...we really have had a scare. So he's not the best of company right now. Hopefully I can catch the next nearby small fest with some of you.

Some reflections on Camp Reggae through the rear-view mirror of my mind:
And then there’s the community that comes together biannually here—a kaleidoscope of tents and makeshift digs are scattered throughout the woods of the ridge or on the lower, stepped terraces of the natural amphitheater. And it is here where the gathering of woodsy spirits are housed—a collective of lively folks often displaying exuberant dance, colorful dress, and best of all, an affirmative vibe!
You could probably walk the trails and byways of the place in less than an hour, but you’d want to linger longer—perhaps take all day—for friendships and warm acquaintances can be made all along the way--some probably fleeting, while others might last a lifetime. Such things happen whenever kindred spirits gather.
It’s easy to reach a state of wonderment in that place.

And to actually catch some live Dale TV and hear Dale Quotes as they were being spawned and held forth was reason enough to be there!

Gypsy Feats - It was so awesome to hang out with you. You have such a wonderfully positive vibe. I'm so glad you were there! Welcome to Inforoo
This Camp was different than Camps of the past, but amazing just the same. I made some connections with some fantastic people and saw some people that I only get to see at Camp. I can't wait for the next one! Only 9 months away (unless we decide to go the NYE one).
Teri and I have pictures to share along with many hilarious DaleTV quotes. We'll get them together in the next few days...
^I would be much more likely to be down for the NYE one than any other.
Yeah we are seriously considering the NYE one. It's on a Friday night and I would guess they would allow you to stay until Sunday. If I remember correctly last year it was around $40 and from what I hear a good time was had by all.
The thing that concerns me the most is the cold. Camping outside in 20 degree weather sounds difficult. There is going to be a giant fire right in front of the stage though so staying warm won't be hard until it comes time to get some shut-eye.
