Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I also agree that members of the Dead need to be there, wither its The Dead or Further, I feel like it's going to be Further. I also think Panic is gonna be there since they were at the first (and many more) roo and they are going on an infinite hiatus. Phish is Phish. Everyone should want them there, plus some dude on a train supposedly said they were going to be there so they are in the mix. Cheese is also starting to do more and more dates so I expect them to be there. Allman bros as well? I don't know who all is going to be there or how they are going to do it but this would be pretty amazing. Phish late night after Friday headliner. Cheese Late Night Which on Saturday. Allmans 2-4 Further 5-8 Panic 9-12 Sunday. I know I'm hoping for way too much but I would be so happy. Just saying.

I wouldn't complain about any of these, except Panic, but that is way too much top heavy "jam" music for Bonnaroo these days. I would think Further is the most likely.
id be all about a Phish reprise but i really dont see why they would do it over just throwing their own festival
Joke?
no not at all. There are very few bands who can pull off such an event and this is THE BAND that can very easily do it. With the success of "Fest 8" why wouldnt they just continue to hold their old events, wherever and whenever they wanted? I know they have a good relationship with the people who run Roo and its easy for them to just show up play and get a paycheck but it seems unlikely that its going to happen, but i hope im wrong.

This is exactly why they would want to play Roo.
Plus Phish has shown they want to diversify their audience, playing ACL this year. I think they genuinely like playing with all different kinds of bands.

i honestly didnt even realize they played ACL this year, so im 100% wrong. i kind of lost touch with them after Bonnaroo. i guess the only question now is does Bonnaroo want them back so soon.

One thing to remember is that their manager, Capshaw essentially owns Bonnaroo, he is certainly the money behind it anyway. I personally still think at some point they will have a fest on those grounds, the guy who designed Bonnaroo pretty much designed their set up and all their festivals so I am pretty sure that will go down at some point.
That being said if ever there was a band meant to headline Bonnaroo it was Phish, so I certainly hope we see them back again as well.

really whats going through my head is after reading this board for several years, i just dont let myself believe any rumor on here, especially the things i would really want to see happen. probably why i dont really come on here as much anymore either. after all the buildup for the 2010 lineup and then being let down by having DMB top billed, i try to just ignore everything no matter how likely or unlikely and just wait till the lineup drops. so when people bring up Radiohead and Phish, i just think "psh yeah right. not happening" and then i cant be disappointed.

whoever said phish doesn't jam. hahaha. k whatever. and whoever said they will go on a permanent hiatus after 2011..another hahaha. k whatever. they will be around for many more years, they are having fun right now, def not about to stop. roo 09 was a success and they had a blast there wouldn't be surprised to see them again. and ftr phish made bonnaroo 2009. compared to 2010, roo was night and day. phish brings there own festival wherever they go for however many nights.

I said panic is going on a permanent hiatus after 2011 because they are. Nobody said anything about phish. Hahahahah. K
He also said that Phish "made" Bonnaroo 2009, which is not true at all. While they had great performances, that lineup was legendary and without Phish it would have still been legendary.

This is the argument thread! Yay! You're all wrong about everything. I am so right, I'm not even going to dignify your wrongness with my ultimate, pristine rightness about everything. Just surrender, kneel before me, and if I so choose, I shall bequeath unto you a twix bar. Just one.
Phish was great in 2009. Phish does jam and they are a jam band. 2009 would still have been pretty damn good if they weren't on the lineup. Phish will likely return to Bonnaroo at some point.

I WAS about to call you Captain Obvious, but... I guess some people actually needed to hear what you just said. Welcome to the Legion of Being Right About Stuff, Seriously. I'll email you your Lo-BRASS membership card and you can print out the wallet card at your convenience.

Last year was the ball breaker though.. the AC twitter site posting Stones hints, Dylan hints, Waters hints....I think that's why so many people get pissed when the lineup comes out and it's not even close to what they have been reading or getting hopes up. The Phish rumors..well, I'm not the biggest Phish follower ,but when the fans seem to know I trust that rumor, plus my friend is part of a Phish fan club and she hears all of the speculation already as well. It's the 10th anniversary, they should get some balls and have Phish play Saturday & Furthur play Sunday, which may not be out of the realm of possibility.& than Neil Young & MMJ Friday...but rumors are rumors and we will have many many many more by February, wow less than 3 months we will know the lineup
Debating. I've got tickets to 12/31 and 1/1, but I'm not sure if I'll use them or not. The Worcester shows are closer/easier for me to get to, and the band generally rages there, so I think I might get rid of the NYE/day tickets and head for the DCU instead.
Let me know if you hit the NYE show, throw down a NYE shot in the garden,..if not i know 2 friends who would buy them off of you

The never hinted at Waters. In fact they never "hinted" at anything. They tweeted things and we interpreted them as hints for the lineup. Did it create a little bit of a buzz? Yea. Was it the best move? No.
Was it solely Roo's fault for the hype around 2010's lineup? Not at all. CoS got everyone hyped up with the idea that Roo would have Roger Waters (he pretty much confirmed it even tho it was false) and then basically confirmed Neil Young as well. Throw in the fact that 2009 was so huge with Phish and Springsteen - which led people to believe 2010 would be even crazier. All of these factors plus a lot of rumors that turned out to be fake were the problem. The tweets were like....3 or 4% of the entire issue.
Here's what I posted about this issue months and months ago when people were complaining about the tweets.
Posting lyrics and album names to bands that were rumored for Bonnaroo already (Stones and Furthur were both rumored at certain points) is not the suggesting that several big acts would be there. If you read all of those tweets and really expected to see Furthur, Bob Dylan, Rolling Stones, The Who, and Jay-Z all on the farm this year then you only have yourself to blame. I saw those tweets and felt that they had one or two of those acts and they did. Jay-Z was on the bill.
So if Bonnaroo's own twitter reaches a bigger audience then how come the only people complaining about those tweets are the people complaining on inforoo? Why isn't there more of a public outcry on other websites or forums condeming Superfly for lying to everyone? Simple. They didn't lie. There was no promise made. It was a simple tweet to play on the rumors that existed and mention some big name acts.
Also, here's the one of the last tweets when "teasing" people with allusions:
Okay I'm sorry. I'll stop being a jokerman. I'll quit playing games with your heart. Though I could go further - or is it farther?
Seems to imply they weren't being serious. Even tho it includes a few allusions to bands it still sounds like they weren't really implying those bands would be playing.
That said....I wouldn't be surprised if this year - there are no ambiguous tweets like that.
I would really like phish to play this year 2009 was amazing! But I wouldn't want them to get two nights of the festival again...anybody else of the same mindset?
