I would really like phish to play this year 2009 was amazing! But I wouldn't want them to get two nights of the festival again...anybody else of the same mindset?
I wouldn't mind per se, but there are other acts I would like to see perform for sure.
I'm going to reserve judgment until after I see them play around NYE. I've been underwhelmed by post-breakup Phish (even the unfairly-lauded Halloween show didn't really hit home), and I don't know if I'd want them taking up a spot that could be occupied by something more vital/innovative.
They have been off and on for me, July 3rd and 4th were great shows pretty much my favorite post breakup. 8/13 at Deer Creek was more of a just ok one to me, but I took my kids to their first one so it was a memorable occasion. I love Little Feat, but listening to that show the cover was not that great, though the first 5 songs of the first set were some of my favorites and sounded excellent like BBFCFM. I am always happy to see them though there are not a lot of southern shows these days, so it is still a treat for me compared to the NE folks who can get glutted on it.
I saw them in Raleigh this summer, and Charleston this fall and I think they put on two sick shows. I'd still rather see an extra headliner on the lineup then I would two sets of phish...
Simply out of curiosity in what manner would you say they've been underwhelming?

I've seen them 3 times, 2 being at Roo. The first time in March of 2003 was, by far, the best. I was on the fence, but that show sold me. I was slightly disappointed with their late night at Roo in 09 because it seemed almost like a replay of the setlist the first time I saw them, although "A Day in the Life" was awesome. The set on Sunday was really good though.
I am 50+ shows in most pre 2001, I hung it up after that until the reunion. I saw 6 in 09, and 3 this year. They really are a band it takes seeing live before you "get it".
seems like they pick random setlists out of a hat sometimes, not as much flow/cohesiveness as earlier shows.
I've heard this before, and I don't quite get it. What are a few of the older setlists (dates -- I can find setlists) that do "it" for you, and what are the new setlists missing? Not trying to start an argument -- just curious about what you mean.
How much longer 'til the PT green board gives us confirmation of 2011? Was told back in June that they had verbally agreed, but haven't heard a peep since then.
