Must have missed all the fests Buffalo Springfield, String Cheese Incident, Dr. John and the Meters, Florence and the Machine, Beirut, Big Boi, Gregg Allman, Opeth, Bootsy Collins, Del McCoury and Pres. Hall Band, and Bruce Hornsby were playing.
Nothing against the Waka lineup, like I said it's really nice. But Roo has a fair share of exclusive acts this year.
If I could afford it I would do both. But it really doesnt have PLENTY on roo, that's all I was trying to say. Not trying to insult what i've always heard to be a great fest (waka).

like he said, nothing on roo. almost everyone of those bands have played roo before.
the "nothing on roo" comment is pure opinion. every band i listed is one i want to see that i could not see at bonnaroo.
also, why is the fact that they've played roo before even relevant? have the bands on roo's lineup not played festivals before? no, actually, they have...and a lot of them are even on several other lineups this year.
i'm not coming on to specific roo threads and stirring the pot. don't see why it's necessary here.

eminem and lil wayne aren't exclusive to me...they're crap. and it comes down to opinion...EVERY. TIME. i think waka is the best lineup of the summer FOR MY TASTES. that's why i'm posting on the WAKA THREAD. i know you aren't trying to be a d-bag, but it's annoying that i can't even come on a thread specifically for the festival i'm excited about and post something without having to hear about how roo is better.

you probably wouldn't have to deal with it if everyone of your posts wasn't about how other fests are better than roo. we get it. you are still on a roo message board, you know.
I didn't post until Roo was brought up. Just responding to that in what I thought was a civil manner. Also, i'm just talking about the lineup here, not overall experience or anything. No one is dumb for liking one more than the other, just trying to show that roo also has a fair amount of things that aren't at waka, since you showed some good ones that weren't at Roo. That's all really.

I was soooo hoping to see Emancipator @ 'Roo... his music is my favorite to chill to - it's the perfect melodic tonic for a stressed soul. I can only imagine how awesome a late-nite/sunrise set will be!
Okay, I will continue to look around and research, but thought I would throw this question out here, so please forgive me if it's on page 7 or something.
Several places I've read about Waka say something like "get there early to get a good campsite". So does that mean, get there early so they will park you (like at 'roo) but close to the stage. Or does it mean, if you get there early you can find a spot wherever you want and park?
I think we're doing Waka this year, just trying to figure out the shade/heat/misserable factor. 'Roo last year was too much for me. Y'all have fun at it, we are opting for other festivals this year, and heat is a contributing factor. (An amazin line-up doesn't hurt either.) So I'm trying to figure out if I might be able to park under a tree even if it means a little further walk. Or if it will just be whereever they shuttle us in like sardines.
Thanks for any info you want to give about the camping/parking set up at Waka.

There are trees in west wood camping as well and it is only like 30 bucks for that camping option. Not really that far of a walk to the venue from this site either, at least nothing compared to some of the treks I've had to make at Bonnaroo.
What about friday arrival with west woods camping? We're bring a 5 man tent for 4 people as well as a canopy for shade and im just worried we wont find enough room to set it all up. Also how early can we enter the grounds with a weekender pass? Thanks yall!
My husband and I just did our taxes and we're definitely buying tickets as soon as our return comes through. Is there anything that we need to be prepared for at Waka that's really different from Roo in terms of what to bring, when to arrive, and so on?
We'll be driving up from Austin...can we expect cooler weather in Arkansas? If it's only high-80s/low-90s, we'll be thrilled.

Camping was set up differently last year. But I would plan on being packed in pretty tightly, similar to Roo. I got lucky with quite a bit of space (everyone around me know the swing wide trick), but a lot of people were pretty crammed in.
