Ah, okay, I get it. I don't think she WOULD get the top spot, though. Maybe I'm wrong, I'm not very good at judging that sort of thing, but I was kinda thinking that being a fringe act as far as the Bonnaroo type of music would sort of outweigh being a big-money act in a general sense. Which might mean that she wouldn't play, because maybe she wouldn't be happy with a lower level spot. Although I kinda think being a Nashville girl (sort of) she might get a kick out of playing and not mind that she wasn't one of the top acts.
how 'bout a cheer for all those bad girls. . and those boys that play that rock and roll.. They love it, like you love Jesus ..it does the same thing to their souls...
Add me to the vocal minority. Swift is a talented young songwriter. Not every talented musician needs to be signed to an indie label and own a KAOSS pad.
Is she the best choice for Bonnaroo? No. But I totally get the logic that if they felt the need to get some artist to fill the "mainstream/pop music attraction" slot, Swift is one of the best choices.

AWATD's girl friend made this post, and that comment he made about Phish being better than Arcade Fire was likely made by one of his stoner buddies, who has snorted too much spec k to appreciate great music.

Seems like the only people here that are actually willing to discuss this either recognize her talent and don't want her there or want her there. Just saying AC/S.....
Also my password of 1234 isn't that hard to guess, but it's still me.
I was joking any how. She is just a little too modern country for me. I had to endure a Carrie Underwood concert just recently, so that doesn't help her chances of me wanting her at bonnaroo either.

Have you actually seen any of her performances? Piss poor. I'd rather have Kanye.
Actually, you have a point. I maintain that she's a talented songwriter, but her performance at the Grammys (wasn't it?) not long ago was horrible. Girl can't sing, plain and simple. There are plenty of good artists that shouldn't play Bonnaroo purely because they have a bad live show, and perhaps Swift is one of them.
I don't know when it was, but when she sang with Stevie Nicks... that was one of the worst things I've ever seen on a TV show not called American Idol.

I still think that it was the exception to the rule. My guess is she was too immature to realize what a great opportunity it was, and, as a result did not prepare as well as she should have.

Before I posted my original post of 'I looked into this threat (or thread)...' post, I was going to say that she is just flat out a terrible singer, but refrained from it, hoping I could see evidence proving myself wrong.
Oh so I see you didn't even attempt to give her new album a chance. Ok bye.
Mine sounds exactly like Our Song and Love Story. The rest was meh and really boring. Yes, I've listened to it.
Put Taylor Swift alongside the other headliners of recent years: Stevie Wonder, Jay-Z, DMB, Pearl Jam, Metallica, Radiohead, Tom Petty, Phish, Bruce Springsteen. She's not even close to being in the same ballpark as these artists.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

Mine is just the lead single. It's actually not really representative of the new album.
Drew what do you think the best and worst songs are? I'm totally consumed by this album. The only tracks I could do without are "Never Grow Up" and maybe "Innocent." My favourites right now are "Dear John" (I love songs that are obvious digs at celebrities), and "Enchanted" for that amazing chorus.
