Any other players on here? I used to play a ton of games in the NES-PS1 and mid 90s PC era, but lost interest around the time of PS2 and early into this gen of consoles.
However, I got a Wii a few years ago and that led to me getting a 360 months later, then a PS3 a year later, and now I find myself playing a bit.
Just to get some discussion rolling what are some of your favorite games of this or any other period?
Loved the first Assassin's Creed, but I never played the second one. I heard it was better all around, that's one I've got on my list right now.
I used to love basketball games and have been wanting to pick a new one up for a while. I recently heard NBA 2K11 is supposed to be one of the best yet, so I think I may try and get that one. I love the first two entries of the series on the old Dreamcast.
At the moment, I am playing Battlefield: Bad Company 2 approx 2 hours a night. So much fun mowing people down with the XM8 Prototype.
My problem, is that I usually get so wrapped up in a game, that I don't play anything else. I have like 10 good games in steam that ive bearly even played... Bioshock, Dead Space, Fallout 3, Far Cry 2, Resident Evil 5, Morrow Wind, and Oblivion, just to name a few off the top of my head.

The 2nd Assassin's Creed was a huge improvement on the first. And the map of Venice is absolutely amazing.

I have a 360 and all I've been doing is playing Call of Duty: Black Ops. The game is super addicting and a huge improvement on Modern Warfare 2.
Super Smas Bros for n64 is one of my favorite games of all time and I still play it a lot. Tetris for n64 is great too. I've already had one 360 break on me but my original n64 is still going strong.
^ Microsoft knew that if they beat Sony to the market with the 360, then they would make much more money, so they rushed. 360s with the Red Ring are just a victim of lack of product development and testing. I owned an NES (original, then a top loader later on), Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, and a brick gameboy, then later on, a playstation, a dreamcast, and a PS2, and eventually a moded x-box.
I think I still have the top loading NES somewhere, I saw it 5 or 6 years ago.
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver
Red Dead Redemption is next on my list... either that or God Of War 3. In the past year, the games I've played most have been Demon's Souls for PS3 (amazing game, and totally unique), Mass Effect 2, Fall Out New Vegas for 360 (great, but the bugs do hurt it), Final Fantasy XIII (not one of the best in the series, but the combat system is really cool). I just got Darksiders so that one will be getting my attention for a while, so far I like it a bit... it's like Zelda meets God Of War.

^Red Dead is a great game. The graphics are amazing and its just as wild as other Rockstar games. My roommate was about to get the zombies download for Red Dead, but decided against it now that we can kill nazi zombies while playing as JFK on Call of Duty Black Ops. O and if killing nazi zombies while playing as JFK, Nixon, and Castro wasn't awesome enough, they all shout out famous quotes during the game
My favorite games of the last generation of consoles:
1. Mass Effect 2 (360) 2. Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3) 3. Super Mario Galaxy (Wii) 4. Elder Scrolls: Oblivion (360, PS3) 5. Demon's Souls (PS3) 6. Fallout 3 (360, PS3) 7. Final Fantasy XIII (360, PS3) 8. Little Big Planet (PS3) 9. Mass Effect (360) 10. Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 (Wii version, specifically) 11. Grand Theft Auto IV (360, PS3) 12. No More Heroes (Wii) 13. Valkyria Chronicles (PS3) 14. Fall Out: New Vegas (360, PS3) 15. Dragon Age: Origins (360, PS3) 16. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (PS3) 17. Lost Odyssey (360) 18. Resident Evil 4: Wii version (Wii) 19. Bioshock (360, PS3) 20. Resonance Of Fate (PS3/360)

AC 1 & 2 both great games, brother hood should be great as well. still trying to get through #2. thats because black ops, red dead, and reach. all three great games for both 360 and ps3. (have both). spend most my time on black ops tho. bioshock 1 & 2 are both great, but 2 is really just 1 on steroids. the new one Bioshock: Infinite looks to be amazing.
streetbum87 on both 360 and ps3 anyone playing black ops, reach, or red dead hit me up. (mainly black ops)
We just got a Wii with our wedding cash and gift cards. New Super Mario Bros is a lot of fun, especially in 4 player mode with a couple friends over. Every time we get it out, we play for 3 hours or so. Also a huge fan of Mario Kart. Can't go wrong with some MarioKart. My 11 y.o. brother visits on the weekends and playing MarioKart is required. Any of the Lego games are a lot of fun too.
My Nintendo DS has been a good companion too. There is a huge library of games available. It's a great system.
I've not touched it in like 3 weeks, may pick it back up over the winter break. However, I just got Infamous for PS3... ridiculously cool open world, 3rd person action game. I can't believe it wasn't a bigger hit (commercially... the critics mostly loved it) when it came out.
Also, I've finally gotten around to playing Neverwinter Nights... I bought it years ago, and never even installed it. I've been playing it whenever I've been at the computer, and I'm loving this game so much.

Is Skyrim everything it's been hyped to be?
Dragon Age took over my life for quite some time when it came out, but I still haven't played the second one. I play a lot of Madden. Also excited for the remake of the original Halo.
Also, love Super Smash. Play a lot of that with my friends in the dorm.

Lots of people we play Rift with are totally raving about Skyrim and how great it is. I probably won't check it out but reviews look good so far.
Fallout 3. Logged soooo many hours on that. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3. Best FPS
Red Dead Redemption-probably my favorite on the next gen consoles. Top notch story..great open world multiplayer. And a song from Jose Gonzalez that makes riding into Mexico become a an epic movie.

I have Red Dead Redemption and Infamous and still haven't finished them. I just don't make time for them even though I like both.
I know so many people who were going nuts about Skyrim before it released. I haven't heard from many of those people since release, so I guess that says something.
I watched both campaigns for MW3 and BF3. It seems like the same as the last versions when compared. MW3 is the more action/arcade game while BF3 is more simulation. I historically like BF better but can totally see why someone would get into MW.
Wal-Mart is having some good videogame deals on Black Friday. Battlefield 3 and Arkham City for $28 each. Uncharted 2 and Heavy Rain for $15 each. They have a bunch more, but that's the ones I was tempted by. I generally have a very strict no Black Friday policy, but those are tempting me.

I think it's great! I will admit though, I think everything Bethesda makes these days is gold. Really the Elder Scrolls and Fallout series are the only games I play anymore (not much time for gaming in my life).

I have a lot of WoW friends playing Skyrim and I've played Rift some though it's kinda mind boggling and interesting all the different ways you can go with one character. I'm looking forward to seeing how Star Wars the Old Republic goes. I'm still play (I mean paying) wow but it's so boring. Looking for that next game.
