Can I seriously only find random games online for Rocket League worth Playstation Plus?
I think some revision is necessary for this to be understood...
Well, I bought the game straight up for $20, instead of signing up for Playstation plus and getting it for free. When I go to "play online" and then "find game" it tells me that I need to be a member of Playstation plus to use that function. I'm using the 2 day trial, but if I knew I needed Playstation Plus to play online, I would have just signed up for that instead of buying the game.
Sidenote: On the main screen in the ticker at the bottom it tells me I'm offline, even though I'm connected via wifi, and am playing online matches.

Pretty sure you need Playstation plus to be able to play anything online against people. It's sort of like their version of Xbox Gold (if that's still a thing). It's lame but yea.....you should have just signed up for PS plus. Would have got the game as part of the package AND be able to play online.
The main screen ticker says I'm offline all the time. Think it's just a glitch. Even when I'm playing people online it says I'm offline. It's wrong.

Yeah that's pretty lame. I'll talk to Sony when I get home and see if they can refund me the money for the game if I just sign up for Plus. Thanks for your help.

Also keep in mind that you must keep renewing PS+ in order to play the games. If you don't extend your sub after the trial you'll lose access to any of the 'free'games.

This is true....though I've been told there's some kind of grace period thing. Like....if your account ends on the 31st that doesn't mean the games are inactive the next day on the 1st. You still have some time or something like that. Not sure how it works with trials and I haven't tested this idea out myself but I've definitely seen it mentioned.
i wasn't sure where to put this, but i wanted to share it and this felt like the appropriate place. there's an arcade/gaming festival coming up here next month. august 30-september 2 at the convention center in downtown pittsburgh. there will be a ton of pinball, table games and competitions like the donkey kong world championships. there's also going to be video game themed music throughout the weekend, including the pittsburgh symphony orchestra performing music from final fantasy. it seems like a pretty cool event, so if anyone is interested, the website is replayfx.org/ come visit, play games and i'll take you for tacos!
Just beat metal gear solid: peace walker the other day, and I've already beat 1-4. Getting a ps4 for both parts of Metal gear solid 5 and to play Bloodborne, plus probably Rocket league, had a blast at friends house. I'm gonna try to get the batman bundle so I can trade in the batman game as trade credit towards a preorder for The Phantom Pain. Anyone know if they will take trade in credit for a preorder?

Okay so I am looking to pickup a new PS4 game soon.
Considering:
Dying Light (just announced new DLC) (haven't played it but think it looks cool) Battlefield 4 (full pack w/ all the online DLC & Hardline) (currently borrowing it from a friend and enjoying it) The Witcher 3 NBA 2K15 MLB 15 The Show Mortal Kombat X
OR I can use the money to just pre-oder Fallout 4, FIFA 16, Battlefront, or COD: Black Ops III. All of which I'll surely end up buying when they're released anyway.
or I can finally buy Pokemon Omega Ruby for my 3DS

I own all those games except 2k nba. For sure the best ones would be mk x or the battlefield hardline with dlc.
Dying light is like 12 hrs of gameplay and then gets boring when the story is over. Id wait for dead island 2 at this point for a open world zombie game.
Witcher has a ton of gameplay but for me just felt bland I couldn't get into it but I just finished up Arkham knight and the God of war remaster so I'll go back to the witcher and see if it sticks.
The show is great for baseball fans so if you are a die hard baseball fan you'll love it but can get stale so I only play a few baseball games a week.
I'm currently also playing pay day 2 crime wave edition great co op game if you're into that kinda thing.

If your a fan of sports games and MLB, go for the show. Every year it's my favorite sports game. Graphics are awesome, and I believe they have enough going in the game to keep you engaged for awhile (Diamond Dynasty, Road to the Show, Franchise).

Cheers. I love franchise mode in every sports game, so I figured the Be a Pro and Franchise options in The Show would keep me occupied for a few months until Fallout.
Just snagged a ps4 batman bundle off ebay, 374 dollars no tax free shipping. Should be able to get 40 bucks from batman at gamestop to put down for a copy off Metal Gear Solid 5.
I've been more or less consumed with grinding in Bloodborne lately, as is usual for me at the 2 month period of owning a From Software game... still loving it, and the art design is some of the very best I've ever seen in a game. Haven't played Last Of US too much since my first couple of tries, but it's still there waiting for me, so no rush, honestly.
Picked up Transistor and Bastion when they were on sale last month for super cheap... haven't tried Bastion yet, but Transistor is pretty damn cool so far. Also, picked up Dragon Age: Inquisition for surprisingly cheap at one of my local comic shops yesterday, I've just gotten past the first boss and so far this seems like it has all the potential to be the best Dragon Age game yet. Really digging the relatively open world and some great combat mechanics, also the story doesn't seem too shitty just yet. I needed some variety (even though what I'm playing is still mostly RPG, but whatever).

I love reading this thread even though I don't play video games. This post could have literally been in Arabic and I would have understood it exactly the same. Other than "local comics shop." That's Queen's English shit to me.

Yeah. I'd go with The Show out of those.
NBA is nice to have when friends are over but nowhere near the enjoyment you will get out of Road to the Show. Best franchise/create a player mode other than NCAA football dynasties for my taste.
Hardline MP was fun but I got burnt out on it quickly.
I've been playing purely ESO since it came out. ESO US NA Daggerfall Chillrend server if any of you PVP.

I'm sure my being four 90 Minute IPAS in didn't help, either.
Did you guys hear about Romance of the Three Kingdoms 13? Makes me wish I was Asian, so I could play it before 2016... I played RoTK 1 when I was like 10 years old... RoTK13
