If you like the 16-bit Zelda style RPGs, have a PS3, and want one that is a little more difficult with more puzzles and with a darker story, I definitely recommend checking out Alundra, a PS1 classic on the PSN Store. For many years I called it my favorite game.
For RPGs on PS1, nothing got better than the Suikoden series for me. I actually funded a Roo trip one year by selling my copy of the second one on eBay for around $80. The first one is on PSN. The second, which is better, has been listed as "TBA" for a long time.
I actually own Suikoden 2. Bought it back in 2000 I think for 20 bucks, now it's ridiculously overpriced. Great game, much better than the first.
On the topic of overpriced PS1 RPGS, I just sold my copy of Persona 2 just the other week for $40. Just the disc, too.
Another overlooked, brilliant RPG from that system was Vagrant Story... game stands up really well today. I don't know what I'd say is my favorite of the genre on that system today, but Vagrant Story would sit up there.

SR3 is gonna take me a while because, as with most sandbox games, I get distracted doing side stuff and never progress the actual story. Right now, I am just running around buying properties and doing takeover stuff.
I'm 8 hours into The Last of Us and I am completely amazed. The tension is incredibly high at all times. I think it's the best game I've played since Uncharted 2. I highly recommend this game.
I downloaded Earthbound friday on wii-u eshop. Kinda back and forth between that and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D right now. Wifey just finished Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons. She just started what I think will be her 3rd or 4th playthrough of Chrono Trigger yesterday. I might buy Shin Megami Tensei IV next paycheck. Nintendo has some deal where if you bought Fire Emblem: Awakening and that before the end of August, they will give you a $30 credit in the eshop.

Well, it's only for 3DS so if you just get a DS, them shits won't play it. And I'd recommend getting a 3DS XL because the larger screens and longer battery life are ze tittays.
They're both on sale for the same price, so should I get Fallout 3 or Fallout: New Vegas?
You really can't go wrong with either of them, though I liked the story in Fallout 3 more, I liked the multitude of factions in New Vegas as well. God bless Obsidian.

Although Flying Lotus' contribution to the Grand Theft Auto V soundtrack has been previously reported, he's just announced the details. "FlyLo FM" will feature new music from him, his rapper persona Captain Murphy, Clams Casino, Aphex Twin, Hudson Mohawke and Oukast, as well as Tyler, The Creator's "Garbage", which we've heard.

Anyone pick up Madden? Thoughts? I have seen some bad reviews on Amazon and such, but I can't feel like I can fully trust them because of all the Madden haters who will sh*t on it regardless of quality.

Have heard the same. I never pick up Madden until after Christmas, due to the EA NHL releases every September. you PS or XBOX? Give the NHL 14 Demo a go. It's worth playing for the new collision physics and fighting alone.
