Sunday to me looks like the best day of the four easily. Friday looks decent. Not sure what to make of Saturday, and will probably miss Thursday anyway. .
Wait what? How do you know which days have which acts? What am I missing.
They sent me an email last week, I posted it on the previous page. It's not on the website for some reason, but it came with the day ticket announcement.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday artists are listed on the website if you click through to buy tickets and then scroll down to the single day tickets.
I've never been to this fest before, just booked a hotel room after reading the sketchy reviews of the campgrounds and also because we will likely have a packed car and no room for camping gear.
Back in November I covered a football game for a local paper at a Bridgeport high school. The field was across the street from a housing project, in appalling condition, and covered in bird droppings.
That's pretty much Bridgeport in a nutshell. Rampant poverty, trashed, and covered in bird droppings.
I think this will be day tickets for me this year. Sunday most likely. I'd prefer Friday, but I am not sure how many more days I can take off of work! Does anyone know anything about the McLovins? They actually play at a hole in the wall bar near me often, but I've never made it out. For such a shitey place.. they have some good regular bands. Zach Deputy plays there a lot too
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
In hindsight, I should have held out on this. Just get day passes for Friday and Sunday rather than the full weekend pass. I highly doubt I'd go on Thursday, and can't really see myself going for all day Saturday with that lineup.

And the McLovins are good. They don't stray too far from the "Phish-lite" school of jamband music, but they're talented kids.
Yes!! I should have known that you'd know what I was talking about. Sully's is only about five minutes away. Tiki bar is awesome during the summer, but the place is too small, dark and creepy to visit during the winter unless the band is worth it!

Yeah, I'm a fan of Sully's in the summer. The outdoor patio is great, but you're dead on about the interior. They do get some good bands from time to time though, which makes braving the kreepy inside worth it.

i saw exactly one nitrous tank last year. and it was operated by some guy on the move - and he was gone in about 2 minutes, and it was the middle of the afternoon.
my experience was it was much cleaner than in prior years - the security check getting in was pretty thorough. everyone i have met there has been decent - yes, there are spunions and wooks, but what the hell do you expect? as far as theft, when im not at my campsite or when sleeping, i dont leave anything out that is either 1) worth stealing or 2) that I would miss.

Thanks Idio, I'd heard rumors that it was better, great to get a first hand observation.
This is a huge reason why AllGood was so much more enjoyable last year as well
So it's about five weeks away. Still not sure what to make of this. I've talked to a couple friends of mine to see if they'd buy my full weekend camping pass - if I did that then buy day tickets for Fri and Sun.
Why am I not as excited about this as I should be?

The lady and I are contemplating driving in for Saturday. Is it cool/possible to camp Saturday night even with a single day ticket? We'd just have a pop tent so I was thinking of just walking on in with it and leaving Sunday morn. Do y'all think this would be possible? Is the campground next to the music, or does it have it's own enterance?

Also, not sure how strictly they enforce, but people with day ticket wristbands do not get access to the late night shows. When the main stage closes, day trippers go home.
I have to respectfully disagree about the lineup. it's not OMFG good, but its decent. case in point:
Furthur Janes Addiction Elvis Costello (an expensive ticket, on his own) Levon Helm Tedeschi/Trucks Rhythm Devils Dr John Toots and the Maytals
plus people are into John Butler and Moe, although I confess to not really knowing John Butler's music. DSO, Dumpstaphunk, DBB, Ryan Montbleau, Assembly of Dus, TLG, Big Sams Funky Nation all get an honorable mention. not bands i would run out to see, but im sure they will be okay at this festie...

Thanks for the tip. We'll probably just pony up for the full ticket and roll in on Friday instead. Really just fiendin for an opportunity to use my camping stuff and try to fill the post-roo void. Loves me some Janes though...
