I have a full ticket, but not sure on Saturday. I'm not familiar with much anything there. Friday and Sunday look good to me though, even if I'm not terribly familiar with Furthur. I really like Butler Trio though.
Since I'm staying at a friend's house a couple towns over, I contemplated selling the full ticket for day passes on Fri and Sun. But then again, could be explorative on Saturday. If it sucks, I got friends in the area.
lowerdeck, the best merchandise is in the camping area... so there is definitely a benefit of having the camping wristband even if you dont plan on camping. also, the camping pass lets you into the late-night stuff - although in previous years, it hasnt been so awesome.
I never understood the whole "early entry fee" thing... Seems like some BS to me
First time I saw it was last year at Nateva and now it seems like others are doing it since they realized they can charge a little more and people will pay it.

All Good has charged extra for Thursday entry for a few years, at least since 08. Unlike roo first in gets better/closer camping, so it's totally worth it.
I've always wanted to go to GOTV, but haven't made it thus far. Maybe next year.
having that camping pass for a late night silent disco on the beach = (.Y.)
see whoever is going on friday!
I was wondering who else from here was going.
Not sure what I will and won't be at. Just going into the weekend, here's the acts on the main stage and my thoughts on them:
Rating scale:
5 = Must See
4 = Likely to see, except for stuff like overwhelming heat or thunderstorms
3 = Some interest, could skip
2 = Know nothing about
1 = Little/no interest
Friday Taj Mahal Trio = 3 Tedeschi Trucks Band = 4 Levon Helm Band = 3 Furthur (at least partial) = 3
Saturday moe. = 3½ Everything before that = 2 Elvis Costello/Jane's Addiction = 1
Sunday Toots and Maytals = 4 Dr. John = 4½ Rhythm Devils = 4 John Butler Trio = 5
Silent Disco, any night = 3 ... if I can stay up that late.
I see myself in Milford much (perhaps all) of Saturday. Friday with the ungodly heat and humidity, plus a chance of storms, is a concern. How much am I willing to put up with?
Oh why did today have to be the hottest day in over a year? This is ridiculous. It's nearly 100 degrees out there.
I'm still home. I walked outside to get the mail, and it felt like taking a blow dryer to the body. I have no idea when I want to leave here to head to BPT. And right now the web stream on WPKN isn't even working... ugh.
Greetings from Vibes... well, not exactly there right now.
Yesterday was brutally hot. Absolutely brutal. Bridgeport reached an all time record high of 103. I heard Tedeschi Trucks Band over the radio in my car. I would have liked to have seen Levon Helm and Furthur - but it was too overwhelmingly hot and humid.
I saw Assembly of Dust so far today, not too bad. Plan on going back out there later for some moe. and whatever else I stick around for. Tomorrow the weather should be a lot more cooperative, and there's a lot better bands... yeay.
Yesterday was worse than Roo... LAST year. (Imagine that one.) Today isn't too too bad. During Assembly of Dust, parked under a shady tree, nice little seabreeze at times, drinking some Liquid Vibes.
Right now I'm at my friend's place listening to the radiocast. I plan on getting down there in a little while though, see some moe.
There's a shuttle bus between the festival site at Seaside Park and the day parking garage downtown. When I was going back to my car, the shuttle driver was downtown and made two stops - then got lost and ended up in neighboring Stratford. We on the bus had to guide him back to 95 and get in the right direction.
Shortly after that post, I went back to Bridgeport. Deep Banana Blackout was good. moe. was pretty good, but I had no idea of any of their songs. Left after that to hang out with my friend. Heard Jane's Addiction on the radio a little - wasn't as bad as I was thinking.
Today: Pretty good day overall on the main stage. Got to Toots and the Maytals about a third of the way thru. Dr. John was solid. Was a little too annoyed during Rhythm Devils to pay close attention. (More on that in a minute.) John Butler Trio never disappoints me, way more chatty than his Roo set last year or when I saw him open for DMB at MSG. Just seemed a lot more open and fitting with everything else that weekend.
Now for the daily drama: by the end of Dr. John I was sitting underneath a shady tree, and there were food trucks not too far behind where I was sitting. I got tired of people bumping into the back of me, and pulled my chair a foot or two up just to get out of the way... or until some guy grabbed the back of my chair and pulled me backwards. Turns out the guy who was sitting in front of me and left 10 minutes earlier now came back and was looking for a fight. He gave me a dirty look and asked three times if I had a problem. I said 'no'. He replies "That's what I thought." I just get up and walk away, left the asshole alone.
For a festival full of hippies and deadheads, this sort of behavior is really out of line.
Would I go back next year? The lineup would have to seriously impress me. Maybe it was just a lot of little things, but I didn't really enjoy this weekend as much as I would have wanted to.
I drove from Toronto to Bridgeport in a small car with 5 adults for this festival, and the long, cramped drive was the only downside. Due to lack of car space for gear we opted to stay in a hotel instead of camping, which ended up being a good thing considering that it was hotter than Roo. Plus the hotel to festival shuttle system was awesome and we never waited more than 5 minutes.
We encountered only one jerk over the whole weekend, other than that it was all fantastic, happy people... even made a few new friends. Overall, between the music, the vibes, the ability to set up at the main stage and stay there all day (no trudging all over the place in the heat and dust), having trees for shade, the hotel pool and the awesome friends I went down with everything aligned to make this one of the most fun festival experiences I've ever had. At one point a guy stopped my boyfriend as we were walking through the crowd and said 'all your friends look so happy, you're rolling with a great crew'. That pretty much sums up the trip!
