Man I held being a smart a** in, looks like I didn't need too, and no I may not be a college student or play any instruments, or be the greatest at spelling but I joined this forum cause I figured people would help me out with Q?S I had with stuff cause I'm new to bonnaroo, and to everyone that answered my Q?, thank u very much. So thanks bunny for showing who the true roo FAM our...Ohh sorry by q?s I mean questions, and fam I mean family, sorry for all the headaches I have caused with those abbreviations
Well you just proved yourself to be a naive idiot, I'm not a college kid and I'm fluent on several instrument with classical jazz and swing training, I've been in bands, I've played shows and I sure as heck know differences in music probably more so then you could even comprehend (not even trying to be cocky about it but I must point this out to make you realize how naive you're acting) second off, what ground does that illustraion you posted hold?? I wasn't saying you were "wrong" I'm saying your being a summers breeze bag for saying that the word "fam" gives you a headache because you somehow can't understand that it is a short way to spell out family. Maybe you're the one who needs to pay attention and accept that people of this generation have slang, especially on the Internet, if you don't want to get your ridiculous "headaches" then stop looking at the Internet dumb @ss
So says the man with about 40 posts who just joined Inforoo last month to someone with close to 2500 posts who has been on here since March 2006.
Dude, YOU were the one being a douche. Bunny was nice about asking. Not all of us read the "text speak" of the younger generation. If that makes you think that we all
then you have some serious issues. Me, personally, I take offense at the fact that you would use that to try an insult someone. I'm one of those (soon to be) middle aged conservative Rethuglicans (although people around here keep trying to convince me that I am really a liberal hippie).
Basically, I could throw your own words back at you:
well coming from detroit this year the detour took us to the Stuckeys gas station exit miles south of the farm and that took us in the back way (by the chuch and jafee joller), how would one go about getting into the north bound side where the freeway entrance to the farm is?? i wanted to do it this year but all of the exits are closed and it seems if you come from the north going southbound you are forced to come in the back way..... i think im just going to have to get my handicapped tag for my rearview and hopefully the roo crew will be kind enough to atleast get me on the roo side of bushy branch, and i totally would do tent only but that requires carrying my stuff and i can't lift over 10 pounds due to my herniated disc, that and i coming with a group of 5 people in my car so i want to camp with them the whole time and i know the women will want the car nearby for w.e. random reasons and i am fine with that, i just hope the staff is kind enough to get me closer then the absolute farthest camp away from center-roo(like i said anything on the roo side of bushy branch would be ideal)
If you can get a Dr to get you a placard you can camp close and bring one other car. If you can't you are not handicapped and will have to take the luck of the draw like the rest of us. Also just so you are aware waiting an hour will not necessarily put you any closer or farther away. There are a lot more factors involved than what time. Past that there is not a lot to do but buy a VIP ticket which will give you quick access and guarantee you a close spot.
There was nothing wrong with your statement *firsttime* i could read it perfectly fine and im headache free, bunny seems to be a middle aged conservative republican who can stand the fact that people don't all speak the same, its naive to point the flaws in that post, and honestly was the word fam substituted for the word family what did you in bunny? grow up.
Just so you know Bunny is quacking awesome, I have been to AllGood with her twice, and while she is older she is one the coolest people I ever met at a festival. She contributes a lot to this board and also every year gets the thankless task of organizing our brunch.

Alright from what iv read in about a million threads its basically hit or miss on a detailed search, though from my past I DO know them people def judge, I mean crap thats basically what they get paid to do.. I don't drink but people with me will prob bring some. And as far as anything else goes I got fam at home that need me so I'm not about to attempt anything stupid, plus from what I hear with what's in there u can prob find whatever u need inside, but I got a camping q?, iv read someone saying something about u can park and walking to camping or park then camp by ur car, does the tic price camping include the camp by ur car one cause that's what I was hoping to do, if not how much extra is it to do that?
What about this gave anyone a headache? that is the way someone typed something on the internet and its easily readable, i appoligize for the conservative-rep. statement, i agree its unfair to use that as a offensive term, and i dont even know bunny, and i agree she is probably a really sweet person but why talk down about someones post and how hard it was to read when it was very easily readable?? thats what i guess i had my problem with and then to say i am a college kid who doesnt know my jam rock from my rock-n-roll is a naive comment because like i said i am a musical person and thats what i live for, although i will say it sufficed for my naive comment with the conservative-republican bit i gave, i dont want hard feelings bunny, its a bonnaroo board, im attracted to this board because bonnaroo gave me peace and love, i dont wanna ruin that by having conflicts with other roo goers, that being said, bunny i didnt mean to offend ya i just want to not see the *hate* on peoples posts, it disturbs me to think someone thinks they are a better "post-er" on a board, i think everyone of every culture who have a common interest in roo should be able to post on the board without worrying about people harshing on a helpful readable posts that they offer. ya know??
no hard feelings here though bunny, happy holidays

Idk if I would call it a fight well maybe what was said to her after the initial post might be considered trying to start one, but anyhow we all worked it out, Ima change it back to the original topic...ok so I hear if u get there super early ur prob gonna be put in a far, not so good camping spot? And iv also heard people mention names of spots like camp sasquatch was one I think, now are these camp by ur car spots or park and walk spots? And what ones do people think are better, haha ok I guess I started on topic then went off sorry.

Basically - no matter where you get put - you have the option of packing up your gear and hauling it to tent only. EVERYTHING is camp by your car with the exception of tent only. They do not have a separate parking lot for those people wanting to camp in tent only. You just park where ever they tell you - if you like it - then camp there - if you don't - haul your gear to tent only.
The only exceptions to this are if you are in an RV - they have specific sections for RVs so that the generators don't bug the people in tents or if you are in Access - there is no tent only in Access - you camp by your car. Access is so close that you wouldn't want to haul your hear anyway - besides, it would defeat the purpose of being in handicapped accessible camping, huh?

Look, a little common internet shorthand is acceptable fwiw, btw, ftw etc... They are common knowledge and it lets the people who post from phones have an easier time of it. However ur for your, iv for I've, q for question etc... are all highly obnoxious and make it difficult to read what someone wrote. He is lucky Bunny even took a look at it, I answer as many questions as anyone else on here, and I damn well skipped over it. He officially passed the point from shorthand to laziness, and yeah it is a headache to look at. I am 33 and a liberal before you get all up in arms about me being an old republican btw.

"I am 33 and a liberal before you get all up in arms about me being an old republican btw." I already said: "i appoligize for the conservative-rep. statement, i agree its unfair to use that as a offensive term"
"He is lucky Bunny even took a look at it"<<what does this even mean?? Im sure he would have been more then fine had she chosen to not take a look at it.
Like i already said...... Bunny i dont want to be on bad terms with you, i was being naive and so were you, id say we are about even on that front and i have no hard feelings.
Wolfman jess i also dont want "beef" with you, i follow your posts and i find some things you post very helpful, except your last one, i still do not think his post was the hard to read, yes if you want to sit there and nit pick i can see where you're coming from because he did use U for YOU and IV for IVE but i still dont feel like thats extreme enough to comment on how it gives you a headache, and this is where we have to agree to disagree because people do talk like that in this day and age through texting. I am kosher with it because i am young and its what ive grown to learn and know but i have found that many people who have not grown up with texting (anyone older than around 27) have a hard time relating to the slang where as when i read that i had no problem going through and reading every work fine without hesitation or a headache, i dont know like i said before..... i dont want hard feelings with anyone here because i have lived with most of you on the same farm for 5 days whether we met or not i still felt peace and love was within everyone i passed by. that being said... My side of this is now officially dropped, im sorry for the conflict and im sorry for the pointlessness of this all, bunny and wolfman jess, stay golden

Ok and me being the "starter" of this whole thing... yes iv apologized to and I'm over and done with it. And to what spring said, I truly didn't think about generation differences and that makes sense. I do everything internet from my phone so my texting habits follow over. But I do like this site and being my first roo I'm gonna need all the info I can get. Not to mention I really didn't want to make enemies with ANYONE, but I do for the most part understand, and i will try to catch it when I do it, punctuation though I'm horrible at phone or paper so il just say sorry for that now..
I do have to agree with this - if you can't use punctuation - at least make more paragraphs or something. Trying to read one long run on paragraph is a PITA and, like alot of other people, I'm not likely to ready it or answer any questions from it.
This word also has a underground meaning once you break it down. Let’s take “Bonn” for example and it actually turns into the word “Bone”. We all know gays use this word to describe the action of when they are fecal fisting their Cuban cabana boy at their sex bath house parties. Now let’s look at Roo, “Roo” is short for “Kangaroo”.So put the full true message together and you get“Bone a Kangaroo

I'm really trying on my punctuation and grammar:) I think people will be pleased with my last post. Headache free hopefully. But ok. So what's the best time to get to the gates? I've heard it can be a crazy wait? And I don't really want to have to drive 13hrs and then wait another six to get threw the gates. I'm also coming for the whole fest so another day or later isn't an option. I also know a long wait can be inevitable sometimes, but is there any hints, tips or tricks that will help?
we come in through the back way and across the interstate (we go through manchester and come back in ont he highway instead of the interstate). we get there around 6 and we are in line on the road by the time they open the gates. id say we are in the first gate area by 745 but then you have to wait to be searched and to park which can take a long while. still...once you are on the road into roo its entertaining and the wait is not boring or really that hot. we dont have to wait very long at all and we are moving most of the time. this prevents us from having to get stuck on the interstate in the heat. we are usually all set up by 10am or so

If you don't mind being a little further out with your campsite you can go ahead and come in on Wednesday evening. The year my group did that, we didn't wait in any line, we just pulled right on up in an. I think this was around 11 on Wednesday night, but apparently they had been letting people in for hours.
If you want a chance at getting a camping spot that is closer to centeroo then you can get in line a few hours later, but unfortunately you will probably be waiting for a few hours. Things were worse this year because the mud presented some problems getting people in, hopefully the weather will cooperate and things will be a little more fluid next year.
First 2 years our RV was searched by DTF. Friend driving in has many visible tattoos and was wearing a burger king hat . LAst four we enter the gate area...All look right (No Eyecontact) and we have the clean cut suburban white older guy drive us in. DTF has left us alone since.
Dtf searched our RV pretty good. They tried to intimidate us. They used " If you give it up you get a ticket...Otherwise jail." They went through bags and cabinets and tore the bedding real good. Total time was 15 minutes. If was a nice feeling to be searched knowing you have nothing.

Alright, from what I've read in about a million threads, it's basically hit or miss on getting a detailed search. However, from my past, I do know that they profile people, basically they get paid to do so. I don't drink, but people I'm with might bring some alcohol. As far as other illicit substances go, I've got family at home that need me. I'm not going to attempt to do anything stupid. From what I hear, you can find any substances you need inside. With that said, I've got a camping question. I've read someone saying you can park, then walk to tent-only, or park and camp by your car. Does the ticket price include camping by your car? I was hoping to do that. If not, does it cost anything extra?
translated! now everyone's happy.
answer: on the way in i'm sure the profiling happens more on the freeway. if you're got bonnaroo or bust drawn on your car expect to be pulled over for going a few miles over and searched, etc... however at the gates i think they do just do every x cars or something simple like that.
it doesn't cost anymore to camp by your car or camp in tent only. i haven't been to a previous roo so i can't say anything about available substances (but if someone wanted to message me and fill me in on what it's like i wouldn't object )

They may profile, but I am 43, usually travelling with a bunch of teenagers or my friend who is a similar age and we have been totally searched and we have been totally ignored I think it really depends on the person you get at the gate or it's just random.
i guess aside from just trying to not be noticeable to stray from being searched the only way i can get a closer spot is to leave Detroit at like 2:00 or 3:00pm wednesday afternoon
Getting there earlier won't get you closer, in fact if you get their Wednesday night you will be really far away. After that its pretty random.
If you can get a handicapped pass, then you can camp in Access camping which is really close to centeroo, but only your vehicle will be aloud, not everyone in your caravan.
two vehicles are aloud. Yours and a companion vehicle.
