GL has a source that says The Strokes are playing. As far as I know that is the evidence but I have no reason to doubt it.
I'll say this real quick. When I was told this I was also told several other names that insider has since crossed off the list. Was I told The Strokes were playing? Yes. Has my "source" been wrong before? Yes. This time around if Neil isn't on the line up they were 100% wrong. And even then they had to be wrong, according to insider, because it would have been a last minute addition.
I'm hoping and praying that they are on the line up at this point ... simply so I don't have to put my tail between my legs.
Well they are not playing, but they have not been on the fake lineups recently.
He also stated that they weren't playing on some thread here and there around this forum somewhere. So I think Jess already knew that I knew that they weren't playing.

we still <3 you garage, dont worry
GL everything I thought I knew was incorrect as well do not feel bad if it also happened to you. Like I said my suspicion is that AC "leaked" several different lineups this year in an effort to figure out where they were coming from.
We are all going to be really surprised tomorrow when it is Radiohead, Daft Punk, and Phish.

There is the chance that Buffalo Springfield was the final act that Capps tweeted about on Saturday night (and the newspaper might not know within what capacity Neil Young will be there).
You guys do know that Eminem and/or Dr. Dre aren't guaranteed, right? No one ever confirmed them.
Here is a list of the things that I personally believe are backed up by enough evidence to say they are a lock.
Arcade Fire Panic Robert Plant Black Keys Galactic Garage a Trois Abigail Washburn Black Star MMJ Big Boi Gogol Bordello
In my mind at least, everything else is speculation, and there are a couple that I think are being thrown around that are highly unlikely.
I agree with you for the most part on those bands, I'd also say Bruce Hornsby and Gregg Allman are locks. Maybe some others but I can't remember every band that confirmed through Twitter and stuff.

Yeah they were not on the top of my head, but they are likely true.

I think you're exactly right. Regarding the "once in a lifetime" thing, getting someone like Buffalo Springfield I think could be considered as such. You might even say having The Police in 2007 was a once in a lifetime type of deal, even though they did a reuion tour. But I'd also look to some of the smaller acts as a similar thing. Someone mentioned something about the Elephant 6 Collective. I'd consider that a once in a lifetime type of thing. I'd even put Guided By Voices in there too. I don't know if Gayngs were ruled out, but having 23 members that come and go like Justin Vernon, you can't tell me something like that wouldn't be a once in a lifetime type of thing.

I have no basis in reality other than an anonymous tweet and the video, but I really hope he secured LCD soundsystem for a big slot and a final farewell show. Now that would meet the once in a lifetime standard pretty well.
i don't know how someone could laugh at other people for posting ~outlandish~ bands and then in the same thread act like there's any way lcd soundsystem might be at bonnaroo

I like the way people ignore some of the evidence that has come to light today.....

daft punk at a farm 60 miles down the road from my house, is my once in a lifetime.
what planet are you people on that Buffalo Springfield is even still relevant?
i couldnt name a single song. i had to wikipedia them to see who the band is.
they last made music in 1968. that is not exactly headlining material for the biggest music festival in america, as far as i am concerned. great, stills was in the band - young too. wow.
there goes my karma, but quack it - just being honest.
ok, the last time Ringo and Macca made music together was around the same time, so if they were to play at bonnaroo together, by your theory, the 2 of them wouldn't be headliners... wat...
take a look at Neil's and Still's careers and come back and tell us they don't deserve a headlining spot.
look, im'a let you finish but....
i saw CSN at Vibes. I left early. It's cool and all, but its not very interesting to me. further to that, im not a fan of Young. I think I like him, the man, more than his music. so I could care less... i would bet money if he is there, he will jam with some other artists, so that is cool.
Your point of comparing them to the Beatles is ridiculous. By that logic, any band that Capps could throw enough money at to reunite 40 years later is suitable to be a headliner.
you know, and I know, that BS does not have nearly the longevity, relevance, or influence on music compared to the Beatles, Stones, Dead, Floyd, etc etc
As a test, I asked a few people at my gym if they were familiar with Buffalo Springfield. Normal people, not music nerds. All said... "hrm, i know the name - aren't they a really old band or something"?

What anonymous tweet are you referring to? I missed that somewhere along the way.
