The terminal 5 shows seem to be the answer to this Jess, not a show two months later at Bonnaroo. I would be highly, highly surprised.
I would as well, and would not have brought it up except for that video being posted. I am pretty sure every other band with a video is going to be there. Like I said it is enough to at least warrant discussion without being shot down capriciously.

It is odd. I'll give you that. Perhaps just jumping on the heavy amount of press they got last week?
Could be, or maybe Daft Punk is playing at our house, our house , giving them a huge stage for a final farewell would be once in a lifetime. Also AC may have seen how the demand was on those tickets and decided to give them a BIG spot. It would make scalpers lose a ton of money, and I bet that would not hurt his feelings either.

im shitting my pants reading this so im going to post because i cant get through the next 10 pages before i do.
For whatever reason, i think this is legit. People saying "too many acts we think are gonna be there already", what the quack? the lineup is going to contain a lot of the acts we expect, just as this "lineup" does. I think theres a lot of Leno that i didnt expect there that makes me go "holy shit" and puts it over the top. not all of it is what i wanted (i think the two bands i wanted to play most this year were Caribou and Holy F&ck) but i am wowed by everything ive heard about the possibilities for the Bonnaroo lineup this year, and im actually more excited for Saturday than tomorrow at noon because that is when i can lock myself in for a ticket and be in full on Bonnaroo mode for the 4th year in a row.
woot woot
now im going to eat corn, drink beer and continue reading the remaining 10ish pages of this thread
the problem with lcd isn't about people buying tickets, it's the real fans who as soon as the final show was announced booked their flight/hotel to be able to make it. they mos tlikely wouldn't have done so if it was not their last show. if i were one of those people and they announced broo i would be super pissed.

It's not like NYC is all booked up that time of year. After I got pre sale, I booked my normal NYC lodging and travel plans. People who did this before hand really fucked themselves over.
Alright. LCD video posted on Bonnaroo.com + all other Bonnaroo videos seemed to be acts that will be at Roo + LCD leaked from an anonymous source on twitter + crazy ticketing fiasco surrounding the band right now + farewell shows + LCD obviously wants as many of their true fans to catch them live one last time before they finish + Bonnaroo obviously still signing artists to the lineup days before it comes out. Not saying "This is Happening", but it would make sense to try and pull it off. So maybe we are gonna get them again.
I feel it's a bit naive to count LCD out. The evidence above is just as credible as a post from insider, but I quite possibly could be wrong at 12PM.

I am one of those people going as well, and honestly the idea of getting another chance to see them after that only makes me happier. I guess I am in the minority though, most others who are going agree with you.

I am too. But I was also one of those people who stood outside for 3.5 hours in the freezing cold for the presale at the mercury lounge only to be told 5 feet from the door that it was sold out.
and the thought of doing that for nothing....again, would just make me want to pull all my hair out. haha.
No true fans of LCD would get pissed about them playing another show after MSG. MSG is going to be a very special experience for everyone, completely different from anything else they do or have done.
The only people who would get mad are the ones who think they somehow are more important and special than everyone else who isn't able to go to the MSG show
I dont think so. i am no doubt a die hard fan. And yes, I'll admit I'd love to see them at any opportunity I had, even if it meant them breaking there word about their last show.
But I will still stand against my opinion that their name will not be on the lineup tomorrow.
But if I'm wrong, please feel free to give me a big fat "i told you so".
I'll be too busy secretly celebrating that I get to see them yet another time this year.

You have to understand though the vast majority of fans were pulling our hair out over the ticket situation. I may be new to the LCD party, but I like them as well as anyone man. It might happen, and their is some minor evidence for it, so I hope it happens. Past that just the ability to talk about it happening makes me happy. LCD LN Which/What would be an amazing experience quite possibly better than MSG will be.
Even if it ends up not being the farewell show (I think it will) that MSG show will still blow the roof of the motherfucker. I think fans would get over it. But.......I am unable to go. So I'm looking at it from a different angle.
Then why are you on the offensive against them? If you don't want to see them, go to another show.
oh, absolutely - that is exactly what i would do. on the other hand, im annoyed now because if they are there they've taken the spot from another artist i'd potentially want to see.
i really dont have a strong opinion about BS. im pseudo-trolling... but not really. i just dont see how people are coming to some of these conclusions...
jess - i will probably check them out, as i am curious now. but my experience with classic rock i didnt grow up with is that i can appreciate it, but it doesnt really resonate with me
soul man - i think i misjudged you. you're alright.
there is a 0% chance this happens. they have announced a show as their final show. they addressed the issue of the scalpers by adding four (4!) shows before the msg show (before the msg show, because, you know, that's already been announced as their final show).
there's no way they do a festival set two months after their "final show" and announce it four days after they added the T5 shows and ten days after they announced the final show.
there is no way that james murphy either a) booked himself at bonnaroo and then announced a final show that will take place two months earlier OR b) thought the most effective solution to the scalper problem was to make a last-minute booking at a festival he played last year where he got a bunch of stuff thrown at him in a place that is not new york. two months after their "final show".
lcd soundsystem is not playing bonnaroo. you might as well be discussing the white stripes as a viable option
Sorry gang, but you don't go around promoting your show at MSG as the "Last Show Ever", then book a major festival a few months later.
The reason Bonnaroo has the "I Can Change" video on the front page is to coincide with all the hype surrounding the farewell shows. Kind of a way to say, "Hey! Check out who WE had a play last year!"
Also, there is now a topic over at the DFA board for LCD at Bonnaroo solely because of Inforoo "speculation".

How do you really feel about this? It is ok to open up this is a safe place.
It is funny all the people that are literally offended at the idea of them playing a 'roo show as well.

NIN's Bonnaroo show was his last US show ever until well after the lineup was announced....

Yes, and that's fine. Trent Reznor didn't book another major appearance. He only did smaller venues to give the hardcore US fans one last chance. Biggest venue was T5 and that's 5,000 capacity. That's 80,000 (Roo) to 5,000 (T5).
This is completely different. You don't sell out MSG in 30 seconds, say you're calling it quits, then headline a festival. That's 20,000 (MSG) to T5 (5000).
