In really, really weird news, Pollstar has 'The Verve Pipe' playing both Saturday and Sunday at the Hangout Music Festival. Some deep 90's mining there.

They have some kind of kids thing going on. They play Lolla and/or ACL last year for the kids section. I'd imagine that's what they're doing this year.
I was at that talent show AJ talks about in the first part of the interview. They killed it. Brought in lights to do a light show. I'd say about 10% of the crowd new what was up, and dug the entire illegally-extended set. He and his partner at Huka are amazing guys.
How should I look for a condo? I know I'm late on it but I just wanna see if there's anything left.
You probably won't be on the beach in Gulf Shores within walking distance this late in the game, but there should be some options still open for Orange Beach (15 minutes out), with plenty of shuttles.

I rent houses in Gulf Shores on West Beach (everything west of Hangout along the beach). I just rented my last one a week ago (20 min walk from hangout), so I wouldn't assume that all the houses are gone.
Houses are more expensive, but have a lot more space than condos. During the summer they are around $1,700 for the week, but keep in mind you can split that up with 10 people. We're offering specials for Hangout weekend, though, and prices for some houses are as low as $800 for Thursday-Monday for houses that sleep 10.
You need a bigger crew than a condo (or more money), but try giving Meyer and Kaiser realty a call in Gulf Shores and ask if they have any houses left.
I really wish there was a shuttle or some service going down Ft. Morgan Road. I am staying about 9 miles down that road and don't want to have to do the drive. I didn't see any taxis last year either.

Thanks man, I'll check it out. Anyone know about the camping if that doesn't work out?

This'll be my first year making it back home for the festival - is parking alongside West Beach Blvd (Hwy 182) possible or were people getting ticketed last year?

If you are interested in the Orange Beach area let me know. That is where my parent's place is located (where I will be staying) and I can probably give you some leads/tips on rentals in that area. It's nice because it's far enough away from the downtown Gulf SHores madness but still really laid back beach vibe and just 5 minutes from the FloraBama and FL state line.
That's a pretty big announcement post on their site. Not just listing it on the dates. Makes me wonder if other additions are coming tomorrow.
I was thinking the same thing. The guy who is supposed to be handling the media announcement about the lineup additions said he was taping it VERY SOON...

if those additions hold up, the hangout is going to solidify it's place in the festie world for a while. i'd vote it best city fest of the year without even seeing ACL
really suprised STS9 made that announcement on their website and we have yet to get an official announcement from the folks putting on Hangout.....I wonder if they are trying to seal the deal on something pretty big or what
