AJ: Everything that is on the poster is included in the festival. When we make the next artist announce we are going to announce the late night headliners. Those will be ticketed events that will happen in and around the festival site. They will occur inside the Hangout restaurant and in the new tent. And it's the same size tent that you'd see at any of the other festivals. Tickets will be between $15-$35 at the most. When you're doing a camping festival and there are people on site 24/7, there's obviously a difference in the ticket price from what they are charging and what we are charging because all of that 24-hour-a-day stuff is included in the ticket.

That's kind of a disingenuous, jackass thing to say, especially if the tent is large enough to accommodate all 3 day pass holders that would even be interested in late nights. Three day camping festivals aren't more expensive solely because of late night shows. If you have to pay ~$75 to get access to all 3 late nights, that makes Hangout as expensive as any of the bigger festivals (which have larger lineups and logistical issues that contribute to the higher ticket costs).
I'm not really a fan of either Bassnectar or Pretty Lights, but I can't deny I would probably have a good time seeing either at a late night. But if tickets are as expensive as $35? Pass. I know this sounds kind of entitled, but paying extra for late nights just rubs me the wrong way - feels like a cheap way of squeezing more money out of people who already committed to weekend passes.

I'd only do one, maybe two late-night events anyway. Also, if I don't like any of them, I don't have their fee rolled up in my ticket price. The model is definitely different when you're doing a condo / hotel festival. The disposable income factor is actually higher than a festival like Bonnaroo. It is not unreasonable for them to add ticketed late-night shows.
i think he was talking about late night shows that will be held in clubs, not on the festival site. pretty sure they aren't going to charge people to see shows in a tent.

No, that's exactly what they're doing. A lot of people got shut out of last years late night shows in the smaller venues, so they built a bigger venue. I don't have a problem with it, but I can understand the sentiment.

Mango, I understand where you're coming from, too. If you're ambivalent about late nights, this is ideal - if you don't like the lineups, you're not paying for it. Personally, I would rather buy a weekend pass that was $30-40 more expensive and have guaranteed late night access. Individually ticketed late nights are always going to be more expensive since the cost isn't being split up among everyone who bought a 3 day pass. I would pay $10-$15 a night for dance tent access regardless of who's playing, but I'm only going to pay $35 for someone I really want to see.
Hopefully there will still be a decent, cheap option every night. If it's just anonymous bar bands in places not designed for live music, though....pass.
i just wish they'd drop the additions already…..originally heard they were gonna be out before the end of last month. Maybe we will get them sometime this week….:::::fingers crossed::::::

Wow... I'm doing my pre-festival "look up all the bands I've never heard of on Youtube" run and I just stumbled upon Cee-Lo Green. I'd assumed he was a hip hop act I wouldn't care for. Instead, I get classic Motown with an edge. Nice!

Cee Lo is the Leno………if you have time and haven't already check out Closet Freak and Gettin Grown from his first solo album……both really kick ass tunes with wild ass videos
Just got back from the Grace Potter show in Mobile and she announced that they will be at the Hangout Fest! It was an incredible show, by the way. She played alot of older stuff (my preference) and freaking jammed out on several songs!

That's good to hear, though I'll see her at Floyd Fest too.
I wonder if that means she knew today would be the announcement day.
i figured they would be there. after the shows in atl they tweeted that they were headed to gulf shores and they had like 3 days off there before they played the show last night.
yea, i wish they never would have said they were gonna release additions by the end of last month………i've been on edge since last week waiting for em to drop
I was patiently waiting then they had to get everyone excited by giving a general timeline for additions and I went back to obsessing over them
Exactly, now I'm almost as obsessed as I was before the initial announcement.
Unfortunately I don't think Potter's on-stage announcement guarantees that we're getting all the additions in the next couple of days, though. She probably just couldn't announce that she was playing until after the Mobile show so it wouldn't affect ticket sales.
so who are yall looking to see get added? Personally I'm totally satisfied (stoked for MMW, Primus, Easy All Stars, MMJ, Cee-Lo, and many others) with the current lineup, about the only thing I really want added would be Ray Lamontagne(seen him once before buy my old lady hasn't and desperately wants to). Looked at his tour dates recently and it seemed possible. Hopefully we here something by Monday.

Mogwai's last date in their upcoming tour is May 20th in Atlanta. I'm hoping they swing by either Saturday or Sunday for an appearance. They're playing Birmingham on the 19th, so I don't know how likely it is that they'd double dip in Alabama. I'm just upset that I have to miss them (again).

i wish. i was going to see them in atl before we decided to go to hangout.

In case anyone is wondering why G. Love & Special Sauce was removed from the line up...
I spoke to someone who knows Mr. Love and she said that he said they were never booked. They aren't sure why they appeared on the line up. They're not playing. I'm hoping that's not the case with Jane's Addiction too.
