was jack white solo ever ruled out? because i could see it. actually i heard from someone who knows someone that the next jack white project would be a solo one. i know no one will believe me but all i'm gonna say is look at what city i'm located in and put together the pieces.
I've already stated that Jack White is not the answer.
Will Jack's Third Man Record shop have a tent at the festival, perhaps with PBR on tap, or limited pressing red, white and blue vinyl (10"?!) for sale, in honor of the 10th anniversary?
Crystal Bowersox is very, very good, in the style of Joplin. I wouldn't have a problem with her being there...if Idol hasn't succeeded in taking her beautifully raw talent and turning it into pop mush.
but Idol has some pretty tight restrictions on contestants' touring, contracts, etc. for awhile after a person is on the show. Although I'm not certain what they are specifically, I would think that those alone would be enough to keep her away.
My wife liked her. She finished 2nd, so she isn't held to the same restrictions as the winner, and there is this.

I guess we all have our tipping point. If Jonas Brothers or Miley Cyrus end up on a Bonnaroo lineup then I'd never let it go.
How do you distinguish between Swift, Jonas, and Cyrus? Seems to all be on the same pop/crap Ark.
Taylor Swift worked her way up from nothing and became successful on her own. She writes her own music.
Jonas and Cyrus were churned out by Disney to sell crappy songs written by old men to young kids. They didn't make it as musicians. They're more like actors who have concerts.
Even if both make "pop" music.....I still consider one to be more of a real artist/musician while the others are just puppets.

Crystal Bowersox's album is called 'Farmer's Daughter'. The red, white and blue could be for American Idol... she was def different than anybody else on that show (among giants) and hasn't really started her career yet. Bonnaroo would be a giant step for her.

I think we can count Taylor Swift and Crystal Bowersox out (given that this is actually the path we need to be taking). Neither were part of a bigger band previously.

What if it's a person that is/was part of a famous musical family?
Holly Williams comes to my mind first. She was born in Nashville and is Hank III's half-sister. But I can't fit her to the red, white and blue part....
for some of the people mentioning lauren hill, i don't know if this has been brought up, but the other 2 members of the fugees are from haiti, and the haitian flag and the american flag both share the same red white and blue colors. just interesting. probably still wrong though.
I dont have any actual guesses, just wanted to throw my research out there to help others that are probably alot better at this than I am.

I am curious since gary said the red, white, and blue palette could possibly refer to makeup, if there is a tie-in to the fact that the farm heathen is DISGUISED among giants, like the person possibly has different disguises using makeup.
And could young refer to a band that uses kids or boys in their name...I have no guesses, just throwing out what I have brainstormed, hope this helps someone.
