Gary said "ha, prove it" that fleet foxes was the answer, could that be because the person who guessed it in the tweet just said the answer without giving his reasons. The clues all seem to fit the band
-Blue Ridge Mountains over near Tennessee -White Winter Hymnal: turn the white snow red, scarves of red tied round their throats -Song on new album is titled Blue Spotted Tail -Sun Giant EP -Fox could be considered a farm heathen -The band is definitely young
I think that if it were the correct answer he would have said it was. but who knows?

I think Fleet Foxes have already been ruled out. I think it's one person, a female, that was a former member of a band and the name of a band could be a farm heathen and the Ten I see refers to her personally as she's from Tennessee.
I don't think you need to read too much into the colors, but I could be wrong. I don't have any time right now to go looking.
Right on guys, thanks for the heads up, Ive been trying to keep up with all the posts before responding, just wasnt sure if someone actually sent their reasoning to gary. Guess its back to the drawing board for me
Cyndi Lauper. Her last album, "Memphis Blues" was recorded in Memphis. It was her 11th album, Ten I = XI = 11. She's known for her makeup palette. She had an album titled "12 Deadly Cyns," might be considered heathenish. Can't relate it to farms, or giants. Needed to get this out before I go split some firewood. 8" snow is forecast for tomorrow.

its possible. she's playing jazz fest this year. though i cant imagine cyndi lauper at bonnaroo.
Rooin' since '05...(except 2014...worst June of my life!)
"Hey Peter Frampton! Do you like toast too? Yes, as do I. It is warm and crispy, and a perfect place for jelly to lay. Now stay the hell away from me Frampton, I ain’t got sh*t to say to you!"
She used to be in Be Your Own Pets, from Nashville, who perfomed at Bonnaroo 06' (farm heathen). She's 23 or 24 (young palette). I just can't fit Red, White, or Blue in.

So what do we know?
- Not a Neon Pallete - No actual Paint - All colors are significant in their own way - Couldn't play Woodstock '69 due to age (too young, or not born yet)

im just reading up on her on wikipedia, found something interesting: "In the mid 1970s, Lauper performed as a vocalist with various cover bands (such as Doc West and Flyer, who still perform under the names Gap Wilson Band and Red, White and Blues Band), in the New York metropolitan area..."

What about Jessica Lea Mayfield? Used to be a part of her family's band....partially grew up in Tennessee and Ohio. First album was White Lies....plays bluegrass and one of her singles has blue in the title. Lea could be commonly misspelled as Lee, referencing the original discrepency in the spelling of palette....
I just really hope it's not Hayley Williams/Paramore.
I can't really find a lot of female musicians who were once in a band from Tennessee. We have Canadians like Neko Case... is there anyway to connect her better to the clue? She's a redhead. XD
I have a very strong feeling that the artist is The Tallest Man on Earth. The red white and blue is a huge part of his folk/americana aesthetic, he's just a regular, dirtyish kinda guy but he's disguised among giants a la "tallest man on earth". I don't know exactly where the Ten I see plays in except from his country folk aesthetic that Tennessee is known for. Not to mention he's playing Coachella and it fits that he'd do Roo. He's also young and fairly new.
Can't connect this all... but Karen O and the Kids? She is known for her fashion/makeup and that would be a "young" band. And solo from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs... and the giants could be a reference to the creatures from Where the Wild Things Are.

Does this help someone?
technically which woodstock it was wasn't mentioned, was it? it could be even more recent - someone too young to have played Shitstock 99

I see where youre going with this, but i think he is from Sweden, so i dont know if the red/white/blue thing fits. although he did do a cover of Paul Simon's "Graceland" last year, and we all know thats a Tennessee landmark.

I stumbled across a band, The New 76ers. I know absolutly nothing about them and where I'm at work it keeps blocking all there stuff. But "new" would cover the young part of the clue, and the NBA basketball team the 76'ers colors are red white and blue..

I've starting thinking about the second half of this clue meaning a band from New York or San Francisco (The Giants - sports) with a member that is actually from Tennessee or a farm....
The closest i've come is Interpol, who's new bassist is a native of Kentucky, they fit well with the colors since they have a lot of relation to France in their band history and name.

cyndi lauper is an interesting guess. for those of you who may be upset....she actually can sing really well and ca ndo a lot of different types of music. she also has a ton of connections. if she is at roo she will put on a quality show.
