Mike D...the smiley...ZOMG THATS THE BEST ONE I'VE EVER SEEN!
Thursday eh? I could probably go either way as I'm driving 14 hours anyway, last year I made it to Manchester about 8:30 pm and slept in the food lion parking lot...prolly do the same this year. I'll try to come around the inforoo a little more often now that its a scant 2 months away!
Y'all do know that any of you that are coming in from the South/West area are welcome to crash at my house Wed night for BamaRoo I live about 90 minutes southeast of Manchester so it's a great stopping off point if you have to come this direction...we all caravan in together early Thurs morning on 55.....much less traffic til you hit Manchester anyways...Just letting you know.

It sounds like the general consensus here and amongst my car is still get a hotel Wednesday night and meet up with ya'll Thursday morning. An extra night in a bed and a real shower plus not having to rush around to grab supplies an extra day early = much preferred. Now if they were to have bands Wednesday night that might be totally different.

Still any room left for the VIP camp? First time at Roo, driving in from San Diego, CA, doing the whole one-in-a-lifetime cross country drive and figured four days of camping and music make for nice halfway point. Will also be in Nashville a few days before hand, would love to meet up with any fellow music fans/VIPers. Bringing the baby bro along as well, so if you have any requests from the best coast lemme know and I can work on that.

Depending on my travel situation I may take you up on that. I take 55 in anyway, Fayetteville through Lynchburg and all that b/c I like to stay away from the major highways once I get close to Tenn. Thanks for the offer!
Has anyone though about contacting AC/Superfly and informing them about our arrival and intentions? Seeing as they link directly to here from the Bonnaroo website, the least they could do is set aside a chunk or let parking attendants be aware of our nearly 30 car might ;D If the answer is a no I'll give it a whirl.

I plan to hotel Weds night... meeting on Thursday AM sounds good to me. Now if they have entertainment Weds - I would consider it.... but I want to stay with this Grroooovvy Gang <insert disco music here>.
I have to work a full day Wednesday also and will not be able to be at Roo until early Thursday. I would like to stick with the original plan also.
Theres really no reason for VIPs to get there Wed. Ill be visiting the bf's fam wed night about an hour from Manchester, planned to roll in Thursday morning still

Add another vote for sticking with Thursday morning. I enjoy getting the 10 hour drive out of the way and then one last good night of sleep in a real bed before hitting the farm Thursday morning.
Is there official word about VIP entering wed nite?
It really depends on if ppl can go to Tent Only wed night. If they can, our friends may do that, in which case we'd not be able to hang with them outside Roo and we might as well set up camp Wed night as well. But if they don't do that, then we'll join up with you all Thur morning.
We don't have money for hotel, and we want to get away from home as long as we can.
Through some of the replies on here and many more I have received via email it seems that the vast majority of folks are against Wednesday. Mattseven, keep us in touch on your plan, and if you need us to help work something out we will do our best. Although it is still 51 days away, I feel it is too short notice to change up our plan.
Something else to keep an eye out for here folks; Food Lion will not be our final meetup point before caravaning into our happy place. Last year with the 16 cars or so we got a little lucky at the gate and keeping all of our cars together. This year we have just shy of 30. Holls has scoped out the street and found us a better location, a large empty parking lot just past the entrance. This will give us the room we need to stage up our cars and, most importantly, we will be making a right hand turn towards the farm, not a left across double lanes of traffic. This will help keep us all together. I have a few things to think out, but I feel this is best for the group. I know some of you may disagree, but if we don't meet at a store, and a busy one at that, it will save us time getting in. But what if I need to get some limes for my gin or I forgot to get enough Zebra Cakes for everyone in the group? I assure you that between 50 some odd folks we will have anything you need to get you through to Friday morning. Over the weekend several people will have to run back into town for something, mostly Hillie for her twice a day Starbucks, and we will be making lists and carpooling to the store. I have considered having someone be at the Food Lion to round up anyone that is needing to go there first, but will be ironing out the details soon. I am also looking at another store closer to the lot we will be departing from. Specifics will be sent out as things are finalized, but I wanted to give everyone a heads up on this.
Test email results: 22 folks replied yesterday - 22 A+ grades 2 have replied today so far - 2 A's
edit: If you have not received an email from me, please send me a PM here. I caught one so far where I mistyped the address, there could be more and I don't want to leave anyone out. I didn't include any of the VIP RV's since they will not be meeting and entering with us, but they are encouraged and expected to drop by our camp at some point.
Thanks, Mike. It looks like I'll miss out on the caravan and enter wed night unless something changes. Pls keep me in the loop in case our friends change their plans. I'm sure we'll bum around vip camp inforoo a bit, share goodies, etc.

Dudes I got my EZ Up in the mail today and HOLY SHIT that thing is massive. I dont think I could even fit a second one in my car if I decided to buy another. So Scrog I'm definitely gunna still wanna be a part of your giant tarp/shade fortress. As it seems I will only have enough shade to cover my tent.
I have received an email from everyone except Bunny at this point, and given she is probably slacking off in Europe somewhere on vacation I will have to excuse her from the test and reschedule it at a later date.
22 A+ 3 A
Thank you all for the speedy replies!!
There is a good friend of mine that just decided that she is going to be joining us as well, not sure if she will be solo or bringing a friend yet. I will update the list again soon.
We are up to 55.5 Roosters and 29 vehicles and that, my friends, makes me all warm and fuzzy on the inside

We are going to need a giant area to meet in. Thats a lot of cars.
Already got that taken care of
This is going to be my first time actually driving to Roo. I was passed out in the passenger seat upon arrival the two other times I attended. So Mike, I'm definitely going to exchange cell numbers with you and bug you about exact directions when I get close if thats ok with you buddy.
I shot you an email back about that actually. I have a phone list going and am missing 3 phone numbers I think. Directions will be very easy, I promise.

^ hehee...yep, I'm the Designated Driver/Bonnaroo Barista/Java Junkie ;D
Here are some pics of the location*. It's a large parking lot in front of the Home Depot. I took these pics from the middle of the lot, so you can get a clear idea of its spacious size.
*For your GPS convenience, the address is: 187 Roberts Boulevard, Manchester, TN 37355
view facing HOME DEPOT
view facing NISSAN dealership directly across the street (Kimberly Ln, where we enter)
This lot is just past the Wally-World which is spitting distance from my beloved Starbucks. So we can all stock up before rollin' in! Can't wait to see y'all!!!
