They would be great for an after midnight set, a time slot that would work would be like Sigur Ros back in '08 . Their dark, trip- hop loungey sound would fit that time along with that sultry voice. Music to just vibe out to. A nice fit to accompany all the dance party dj acts.
Will someone please hold my hand while I tremble with anticipation about this damn Lineup comming out. Massive Attack is on my bucket list. Will be in the front row for this one for sure if it goes down. Though I am scared of what will. I am from the leak we are getting thinking this badass lineup of unusual suspects is about to melt my face. And Lono trembles!!!!!!

Anyone want to hang out with me and wait in the front row for Massive Attack I will make a "CHINESE WATERFALL" to entertain while we are waiting. And I will not answer what that is until we are on the gate waiting. The secret of it is to precious.

I think this is it i think massive attack is our big electronica act of the year. If we don't get daft punk which might be the case. They headline many festivals across the world. They would be within the top 10 acts on the lineup for sure.

I personally like Daft Punk better, and having seen each once, I like Daft Punk's show better, but I understand your point of view. A strong argument could be made either way both on music and on the live show.

Dj Shadow into Shpongle into Massive Attack latenight would be an atomic bomb on late night forever scarring the attendees like a frat party with a branding iron gone horribly wrong. Brah's would be made and oathes of alleigence to a secret brotherhood would be sealed in blood. Preferably in the blood of an Eskimo to cool down the hot sweaty bodies that would result dripping like an orgy tent at Burning Man.

Hipster blood is useless for my purposes better the blood of an undead wook. It is very plentiful @ Roo many a time I have seen a wook hit the ground after the eyes screw up in the dead mans stare. And a few minutes later they rise again like Jerry Garcia had hit the What Stage and was fixing to Jam and death could be pushed off until the show was finished!!!

Don't get me wrong, I love Daft Punk and do not think they are over-rated at all. Discovery is one of my all time favorite albums. LCD Soundsystem is just about my favorite band though.

LCD>Massive>Daft
Generally I'd say that LCD Soundsystem is under-appreciated, but if your only talking about their reputation on these boards I could see how you would think they're overrated. Daft Punk, on the other hand, is indeed a little overrated. There's so many other superior electronic acts. But you do gotta give em credit where it's due... they're the biggest electronic group ever with the biggest mainstream appeal. And they have one of the most amazing live shows ever.I'd rather see Daft Punk live than any of the others mentioned. But Massive Attack is probably the best consolation prize for not getting Daft live. Gonna be great.
I listened to I Against I like ten times yesterday and last night I settled down to watch what many of you probably consider the best movie of all time (I know I do), Blade II. Guess what, I Against I is on the soundtrack! Blew my mind.
Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.

I agree with laggy, I'd say that if you took a general consensus, you'd find that LCD is under-appreciated. Since they are, in my opinion, one of the most important bands of this generation. Just my opinion. That said, if you're reading these boards (and whatever/whoever else lavishly praises LCD's music) a lot before hearing LCD, I could see why you'd hesitate when listening to them and might think they are overrated. Expectations are tricky things.
If you listened to LCD Soundsystem in the context of all the important art-rock that was made in the late 70s by artists like Bowie and Eno and Talking Heads/David Byrne, I think you might see where I'm coming from. It's in the vein of that kind of stuff, but progressive and forward-looking at the same time. Just like all the best music ever made, it's traditional yet pushes music towards the future.
Daft Punk is Daft Punk. You either love what they do or you don't. I think that when all is said and done and the dust clears, LCD will have meant more to music than Daft Punk. Again, these are just my opinions/forecasts.
Biggest EVER? I can't really think of anything to contradict your statement, but if it really is true... I'm so sad.
Anyway, I guarantee you'd get a better musical show out of Massive Attack than Daft Punk
I would agree that Daft Punk is indeed the biggest electronic artist ever.
I understand why people that hate them hate them, and I understand why people that love them love them. I personally enjoy them quite a bit and would go nuts to see them live (and not just for the flashy lights).

When you're talking album sales and concert attendance, yes.. Biggest ever by far. The only one I can even think of that can compete is the Prodigy... and that's only in album sales
