As far as I can tell, we didn't really mention very many things between Gary's first tweet about the tick and his confirmation that the answer was on the boards. Assuming the hint about the tick implies that we DIDN'T have the answer at that point (and assuming we DO have it now), these are the possibilities as far as I can tell:
Deer Tick The Hives Dr. Dog Dr. Dre Justice Arcade Fire !!! Jay-Z Coldplay
And of course, he already ruled out !!!. And Deer Tick had been mentioned shortly before his tick tweet, so they might be ruled out too. And I think we can safely rule out Jay-Z too.
Would he give us a clue linked to a possible headliner(Dre) yet or would that come latter... If so does that narrow it down between Dr. Dog & the Hives.

Nah, it wouldn't be impossible for it to be a headliner or other big act at this point. Last year Clue #5 was for DMB and that was on January 21st, so we definitely can't rule anyone out for being "too big" at this point.
I tweeted Gary !!! and AF about 30 minutes before he ruled out !!! ...... Could my other guess be right?
I've pretty much concluded that 'BoRe' is meant to lead us to online gaming and that 'war among champions' leads us to Champions Online. That led me to !!!, but maybe I got sidetracked.
Perhaps my reasoning was a little off. Maybe Divine Intervention was to lead us to Neon Bible.

I highly doubt this clue has anything to do with Champions Online. It wouldn't really make any sense. And that "Tick Tick Tick" thing you found..."Tick Tick Tick" is just the name of one single mission in the game, it's nothing remotely "big" in the game or anything that anybody would recognize as being from the game.
I think we can fairly safely assume "BoRe" means "tick" so that leaves us with "From one tick to another, a war rages amongst champions. We're calling for divine intervention."
I just don't know where to go with that. But I still feel like the answer we're looking for might be the "divine intervention" in the clue - as in, if we could decode the first half of the clue, we'd be left with some situation in which "divine intervention" would likely refer to...some band/artist's name.
I'm liking Deer Tick for this one out of the list PP narrowed down... he's from Providence, RI (divine intervention/guidance), have an album called "War Elephant", the tick part is obvious. The war part is a little shaky but the rest fits.
I could even see "Deer Tick" being interpreted as "Dear Tick," so from one to another, how you'd address someone in a letter.

I don't know if it's already been said, but has anyone considered A Perfect Circle? From one tick to another could be refering to a clock, and if it's ticking, the hands are moving in a circle, perfection is devine, the war amongst champions could be refering to their solo projects, and devine intervention could also refer to them getting back together for a tour.
well let's not forget gc has stated that BoRe is used commonly in urban areas or is an urban term that's why i'm leaning towards a rappper....but BoRe obviously is another word for whatever this urban term/thing is.
Pritch I think you might be right about the "from one to another" part, and I think when he tweeted and said "put the pieces together", he just meant figure out how the clue fits the answer. I'm thinking the answer is Deer Tick.

Source is totally legit, reason I'm not 100% is because the message I got was a little cryptic. Still, this would be killer and totally makes sense given that their album is out in March.
Maybe the clue is referring to Middle Brother, and after Deer Tick was added that's why he said to put the pieces together! Makes sense right?!?!? Can anyone provide me with some backup?

Oooh, that sounds very very promising. I like it. My only hesitation with Deer Tick was that it seemed too simple - we got there as soon as we got BoRe = tick so I wasn't sure about not using the rest of the clue.
But if it was referring to Middle Brother, that might explain why there's so much clue left over. It could be that the three parts of the clue refer to the three band members, or that the war among champions is hinting at the collaboration. Something like that. Delta Spirit could easily be the divine intervention part.

Someone (mom) bore the middle brother, in addition to previous and subsequent births. Sometimes parents will put tick marks on the door frame to mark the height of siblings on their birthdays. Tick marks will document the varying heights of siblings from one to another. At specific birthdays (say when each child turns 6 years old), anyone of the siblings might be the tallest/the champion; the eldest, middle or youngest brother.
This one has got to be U2 - a "bore" is also a strong tidal wave that can be surfed. There is a wave such as this in the Strait of Malacca near Sumatra that the locals have named Bono. U2 had an album called War (long time ago) and their latest album 360 degrees was supposed to have been called Songs of Ascent (hence the divine intervention).
