k sorry I know you guys said you were gonna get away from the BoRe part and focus on the rest of the clue, but I found this mildly interesting and it might be of assistance....
when I read BoRe with the capitalization the way it is, I read is as Bo-Ray....just me? maybe...
I think it is time for a human sacrifice we need a Roo virgin and quick. I have been 6 times so I am a little worn out and used up from the Tennessee heat. We neeed a fresh young'n from Alaska preferably of Eskimo blood. The heat has never affected them the way it does us. Anyone from Anchorage or above that has never been to roo but would like to help solve this clue PM me. I promise to use something to knock you out before we read your guts like it was done in the olden days of soothesayers and mystics.
my neighbor at camp last year was an alaskan girl named Temple

What about Janelle Monae? Can't figure out the 'BoRe' part, of course - however her concept album(s) are about a war of sorts with a 'messianic android' coming to the rescue.
Bonnaroo Wish 2011 Wish List.. Going Big lol... F&TM, Robyn, La Roux, of Montreal, Janelle Monae, Sia, M.I.A., Girl Talk, Daft Punk, Animal Collective, Radiohead, The xx (but prolly not), iamamiwhoami (would be a dream), Yeasayer, Grizzly Bear... perhaps more but that would be greedy haha

Okay, if BoRe means to switch the b and r around, it is robe... Janelle takes a robe off at the VERY beginning of her video for Cold War.
BoRe = Bowling Referee? Engelberto "Biboy" Rivera Jr. is a champion bowler from the Philippines. During the 16th Asian Games in Guangzhou, China, he attended mass and visited two Catholic priests during the games. See: www.mb.com.ph/articles/287964/bowling-champ-sees-divine-hand-win

Sorry I disappeared again over the weekend, guys.
As for this clue...someone touched on it earlier, but I think when struggling with BoRe we need to keep in mind that it IS "bore" too. We're getting carried away with trying to find a "Bo____ Re____" abbreviation, but while I agree that it probably is a play on words for some sort of phrase like that, being a play on words most likely means BOTH meanings need to apply somehow.
If I had to wager a guess, I'd say that the artist we're looking for is the "divine intervention" in the clue - not either of the BoRes. But who knows...
Even disregarding the "R," the capital "B" is intentional too, according to Gary.
Uhhh...what?? I'm just saying I'm pretty sure BoRe has to have two meanings - one is probably some sort of abbreviation, but the other is simply the word bore.
I'm just not buying into any guesses that come up with some Bo____ Re____ phrase but have absolutely no connection to the face-value meaning of the word bore.

Not to be disrespectful of different pronunciations, but "bowling" might be pronounced as "boring" by Asians trying to manage the English.

I don't think that it's intended to be read as two different words. I don't think Bo___ Re___ is the right direction. I think "B" and "R" are significant, initials perhaps.

I'm thinking Bad Books with Kevin Devine and Andy Hull, Kevin Devine's band is called the Goddamn Band and Andy Hull is from Manchester Orchestra. Manchester of course being home to many famous brit rock bands (champions) of which "who's better" arguments are pretty much constant. Recently they've been playing the songs just the two them acoustically...one bore to another.
