What are your essentials for centeroo? Are they different for day vs. night? What do you carry them in?
This will be my fourth year and I am still trying to perfect this. I have used one bag, I have used two... So far a small back string bag (you know what I mean..right?) and a little compartmentalized shoulder bag has worked the best for me.
Let's see - Day: TP, wipes, hand sanitizer, tapestry (+thin plastic if it's wet to put under tapastry), poncho & a few bottles of h20 go on the back. Camera, $, phone (all in ziplocks) & misty mate all go into small shoulder bag.
I add a flashlight and subtract the misty mate for the night.
Sounds too simple above... i must be missing something. hmm.

Yeah i keep it to a minimum really. I use a hemp shoulder bag with a bunch of pockets. I have a mini flashlight hooked onto the strap.
You really have everything covered except for chapstick, sunscreen, contact drops, extra camera battery. Last year I added the essential Gold Bond powder. Never had to use it before but it was SO hot last year we really needed it.
I don't really switch it out much, except sometimes I will sneak a flask of liquor in at night. During the day it's just too hot to drink.
Yes! Forgot the chapstick & Sunscreen. See.. i thought it sounded too easy. ) I like the idea of hooking up a mini-flashlight. In 2008 they gave away mini suncreen bottles that you could clip to stuff... that worked out great!
oh yes, the Gold Bond too. Last year Target had small ones in the travel size section. perfect to stash in the daypack. and flashlight....duh!
I assume for friction...right? Well last year I bought this great stuff at Dick's for runners and it works MIRACLES. Put it on in the morning and no friction for the rest of the day + 1 less thing to carry!
"great stuff at Dick's for runners " I think this is called Runners Glide and it's awesome! No chub rub all weekend, and it stays on all day!
I bring a backpack with a sisal rollup mat, WATER!, suncreen, chapstick, snacks, a porto kit that includes tp, lysol spray, and handsanitizer, booklet and schedule, poncho, misty mate, washcloth to wipe away sweat (but I'm thinking about the cool bandana thing), and phone/camera. I put everything into ziplock bags in case the rain I'm hoping for actually happens

Yeah for friction, although I am pretty skinny and never had that issue before, last year was bad because it was so hot and sweaty. I need to try that other stuff because we needed to keep re-applying the gold bond.
Another item is Propel Powder Mix. Makes the water taste good along with vitamins. Most supermarkets and box stores carry this in the area of Gatorade.
When you visit the website, click powder at the top. Link Here

I can attest!! It's called "Body Glide" and it is wonderful!!! Waaay better than Goldbond.
I also bring a small umbrella with me. It's good for sun and rain.

I traveled pretty light last year, but it was my first roo as well. I used a pull-string bag and usually just had TP, small thing of sunblock, a refillable water bottle, lighter(with other essentials). That's about it. I really don't remember carring a flashlight with me at night while in centaroo. A couple of the afternoons I brought a beach towel out to sit on as well.

Put all of your stuff in the backpack (like some corn I lost one year I hope somebody enjoyed that groundscore because oddly enough I found one that was 10 times better then that) in a gallon ziplock bag and stick a glowstick in it. That ways when you have to yank it out for something that burrowed to the bottom of the bag you can just yank it out and visually look for it. It also helps if it pisses and pours rain with waterproofing things. Some corn is water soluable

i use Monkey Butt and that helps with friction. I always carry a bag stocked with water, sunscreen, bandanna, camera and batteries and a poncho. I have a wind-up flashlight hooked on my bag and one inside...oh and a Sharpie. Met many famous people at Roo and usually i have them just sign my bag.

for the day: sunscreen, hand sanitizer, TP, one big gatorade bottle and a regular water bottle, chap stick, phone, camera, baggies, poncho, money, mister spray fan, schedule and map, usually a PB&J sandwhich, some trail mix. I put it all in a big shoulder bag.
For the night time: TP, mini flashlight, water bottle, camera, phone, money, chapstick, baggies, poncho, schedule and map, granola bar or something small. I put that in a smaller shoulder bag, like a satchel type thing.

I'm sure I'm going to forget things, but...
Water. Camera (in plastic baggie). Map/schedule (in plastic baggie). Cell phone (in plastic baggie). Money. Sunscreen. Portapotty kit (TP, baby wipes, clorox wipes, hand sanitizer in plastic baggie). Head lamp. Extra camera batteries. Lots of napkins which always seem to multiply over the course of the weekend. A bandanna if I don't already have one on my head. Those thin elastic headband things which can be used as headbands or ponytail holders.
If I go back to the tent before nighttime then my bag might include tights or a hoodie of some sort, but I've also been known to go out without a bag for late night.
This was part of my list of things to bring I made for my friends who were going for the first time...
If you want the full list which includes more items/details/explanations just let me know
WATER/CAMEL PACK
EXTRA CLOTHES (T-SHIRT, WARM CLOTHES FOR SOME COOL NIGHTS, DRY FOOTWEAR, SUNGLASSES, HAT)
Backpack: A decent sized backpack is recommended for any purchases and all of the necessities when going into Centeroo. Camel packs are a great way to kill two birds with one stone. (BE ADVISED: your backpack and your clothes will be searched each and every time you enter Centeroo. Security is volunteers. So sometimes you can get by with things you shouldn’t but it really isn’t worth the risk. See bonnaroo.com for banned items)
Toilet paper.
Baby wipes
Small towel or cloth- Just something to sit on in case you want to lounge somewhere.
VALUABLES!- DO NOT leave any valuables at your campsite. Most people are awesome but there’s always that one asshole. Zip-lock bags- if it rains you are going to want to have something to keep your wallet, phone, camera, etc. dry. So zip-lock bags are a great way to do this. (Oh and KEEP YOUR KEYS ON YOUR BODY, getting the “key code” for your vehicle is a good idea in case a locksmith needs to duplicate your keys)
BABY POWDER- I never remember to buy it and it is definitely the first thing I buy every year when I get there. It is a LIFE SAVER!
Aspirin- last thing you want is a headache at a music festival.
Emergency phone- Keep it charged and off… you never know
Camera- oh you’ll want to remember every little bit of this!
Journal/Pens- good for notes, exchanging info, scheduling, etc.
I carry a backpack, it's not too bulky and has two large seperate compartments and one smaller one on the front, and two mesh pockets for water bottles. I'm a smoker so what I usually do is leave a little water in a bottle and keep it in one of the mesh pockets for cig butts. In one large compartment I keep an old bedsheet for sitting down on. Other large compartment has an emergency ponch, small flashlight, cooling pad, and my port o porty kit- travel package of clorox wipes and contenelle (sp?) wipes. In the small compartment, I've got cigs and lighter, cash, camera (all in ziploc bags) hand sanitizer, camera, trail mix/snacks, keys, schedule and map. I've also got a small battery operated fan hooked onto my backpack strap. Was not incovenient at all, and I like to shop at Centeroo so I have plenty of room for stuff. My sister had a small over the shoulder hemp bag and I ended up carring most of her stuff in my bag.
Body Glide is the best, fuckk all the rest. A lighter is a must Cigarettes, I do not even smoke, but their value is priceless when nobody has any, so I carry a pack. Just cause. a cig for a beer a cig for a corn nugget a cig for a hug(I like to get them anyway I can) a cig for a happy dance(making someone dance for a cig is fun) a cig for a, what can you get for a cig?
Plastic baggies Poncho Money Baby Wipes / Germinex Sunscreen Frozen bottled water Beef Jerky (OMG THIS SAVED MY LIFE! Gave me insta-energy and good in the heat) Socks Flip Flops (for after the sun goes down) Hidden airplane liquor bottles
What is this last item you speak of?
Little bottles of hard liquor found at the check our (register) at most liquor stores.
During the day I try to bring all the stuff listed. When I go out for the latenights I put everything of value away, and put 40 bucks and a corn holder with a moderate amount of corn in my pocket and go in with no worries.

I think I've got this down to a science. In 09 and 10 I went solo and since I have a bad back I really had to be careful about what I carried with me. I have a mid size camelback that I pack with the following items.
sunscreen, spray variety goes on best when solo Goldbond money and ID in a coin purse that is tied to the inside of my bag, protected from thieves and my absentmindedness car key is also tied to the inside of the bag TP and hand sanitizer digital camera cell phone high energy snacks (in shell peanuts, beef jerky, sunflower seeds, granola bars, etc...) poncho tylenol my festie blanket (cheap beach towel with a cheap shower curtain liner glued to it, it's lightweight and waterproof for the wet ground, this one has lasted for 2 Roos and counting) headlamp (always in there, even in daylight cause I might get stuck without it) schedule

I had a camelbak for the first time last year and it was great. I was able to carry all my stuff in it. So besides the camlebak
lighters cigs and all that cash keys sun screen digital camera schedule hand sanitizer beef jerky or granola snack bars flashlight at night as many cans of beer I can fit cell phone sometimes a bandana on my head and sanuks on my feet
EDIT: I'm digging the mini liquor bottle idea
