I wish they would have just made Primus late night, I think if they had Lil Wayne on What Late night vs. Primus on Which late night that would be awesome I think that the primus fans would be ok with missing little wayne and and most lil wayne fans probably dont know who primus is

If the real schedule shakes out like most of the mocks, I'm going to have pretty much only two "must-sees" on Saturday. And they're probably going to conflict with one another. There's still a bunch of other stuff I'd want to see, but Friday and Sunday just seem much stronger.

Very poor. Primus vs Lil Wayne would be a very tough conflict for me.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

There's always going to be exceptions but honestly for most people I don't think it's that bad of a conflict.
If they were to rock both stages though, I imagine they'd do something like starting Wayne on the What around the time Primus finishes on the Which. Even if they didn't, if Primus starts when the headliner ends they're still going to play for an hour at least before Wayne comes on.
I've been checking Pollstar and JamBase a lot lately but not really any new adds. However, there are some smaller names. With me being located right across the river from Cincinnati, I'm stoked to hear that Brian Olive will be playing. He's listed on Pollstar. He used to play in the Greenhornes with Jack Lawrence and Patrick Keeler but is doing great things with his own band. Anyone from the Cincinnati area on here? We got some good representation this year already with Bootsy Collins and Walk the Moon.
There's always going to be exceptions but honestly for most people I don't think it's that bad of a conflict.
Last year, one of my big conflicts was Deadmau5 and Gwar. I could totally see how they didn't see a ton of people falling into that group. The same goes for Weezy and Primus. I don't doubt that there's people who that'll be a conflict for but not as much as if they put Weezy and Big Boi conflicting for instance.
Wezzy/Primus would be an awful conflict but I don't see it happening. MMJ/Primus is the conflict that I fear the most.
EDIT: carligula has posted my favorite mock, btw.
Yay!
I keep going back and forth on Primus/Decemberists as the What/Which stage acts before MMJ. When all is said and done, Primus on the What before MMJ with Decemberists in between on the Which after Ray Lamontagne makes the most sense to me.
If I can see Ray>Primus>Decemberists>MMJ>Arcade Fire with minimal overlap in one day, I can die happy.
It would be weird to have nothing going on between MMJ and AF, but they did it last year with Stevie/JayZ.
Other 1-2 Karen Elson 2:30-3:45 Wanda Jackson 4:15-5:30 Loretta Lynn 6-7:30 Bela Fleck 8-9:30 Del Mccoury
This makes a lot of sense, but Loretta is in ATL that evening. With Phos, Ben Sollee and Justin Townes Earl playing Saturday, I would expect them to play with Bela and Wanda while Del and the PHJB play the which stage. I have Karen on Thursday, but she could definitely work here, too, especially with all the folks who think Jack will be involved in her set and Wanda's set.

Beirut and Galactic are billed about 30 slots too high to be the first two acts on the which stage. And Hornsby is about 30 slots too low to play before Plant on the What stage

As a huge Ratatat fan, I'm surprised to see that none of these mocks have Ratatat---->Pretty Lights for a Late Night tent. I would think both of these bands have similar fans. Thoughts?
Post by fake neil young on May 10, 2011 14:11:26 GMT -5
Yes, but you can play a main stage without necessarily playing the pre-Plant slot. That said, I could see Hornsby playing then and there. I can see other people doing it too.

Nate, those late night schedules are definitely a best case scenario for me. The only real gripes I have are partial conflicts of MMj vs. Atmosphere and Buffalo Springfield vs. PTM, those would be brutal for me, but other than that, I like the schedule.

Damn. Didn't even think about Buffalo Springfield .vs. PTM. That would blow. Two of my top acts to see.
This might be my last mock of the year. I'm happiest with the way I've got things scheduled here. Let me know what you think.

Hornsby's either a main stage act or closing a tent. I can guarantee that.
It's not an exact science, but the billing would suggest opening the What stage, second on the which stage, second-to-last in the this/that tents or headlining the Other tent (which I see is the case directly above this post). That's where I have him, too.
