I really Hope if eminem and Buffalo Springfield play the same stage that Em goes after... just because i'll be camping out for that and I don't wanna waste time sittin through em.
Just sent an e-mail to info@mymorningjacket.com asking if they know when their slot is...we'll see if I get a response. I'm praying to God that they get a What LN right after Arcade Fire.
I asked Tom, their bass player, on twitter last week wwhen the line up was released. This was his response...
Tom Blankenship @sometomguy Tom Blankenship
@jacketman42 When I was five I found Xmas presents hidden in my parents closet. When I unwrapped Jabba on Xmas day it just wasn't the same.
Take from this what you will. Sorry I should have posted this way earlier.
If Primus has a LN, they will be in a tent. The LN stages will already be taken by MMJ and (likely) String Cheese Incident. I could see them closing Which one night, but where will that put Mumford & Sons?
While I'd agree that Primus is usually too big for a tent, this year is different in that it's so top-heavy. If you look at lineup placement, Primus (#17) is in almost the exact same lineup position that LCD Soundsystem (#18) was last year (and by the time late additions and comedians come in, they might just move down a spot). We all know LCD played a tent, so it's possible that Primus could play a LN tent. Not saying they will, but it's possible.

Dammit, Two-Tone, why you gotta speak in parables?!
That said, if MMJ's set time is going to be a "present" for us, one that we should wait to "unwrap," I have to think they're getting another big-time late night slot.
I haven't focused too much on the tents, because honestly those are so hard to predict. I'm mostly trying to figure out how the top part of the lineup is going to work.

Also, the times mean nothing.
Girl Talk won't play before Bass Nectar. He'll close a LN tent. Playing before someone would be a downgrade from 09 for him

Phenomenal job, cedwards, this is pretty much exactly what I think. Only thing I'd switch is Florence + The Machine and Lil Wayne's slots, but I know you had a hard time with where to put Lil Wayne.
I hadn't thought of Explosions into The Strokes on Which on Sunday, but that actually makes a whole lot of sense. Krauss>Plant makes sense, too. I really like what you have here.

I just feel like EitS would be far more enjoyable Late Night. Not sure if I would really be interested in seeing a post-rock show on a big stage in the middle of the day. Seems much more appealing in a smaller tent at night.

Buffalo Springfield will be in the same spot stevie wonder was last year. Your a fool if you think BS will open up for Arcade Fire, they are so over hyped. Don't get me wrong they are a good band, but my god people why do you like them so much? What is it they've done that's so amazing? I listened to Funeral and it was ok, The Suburbs is much better imo but still I don't understand how these guys could be bigger than BS or My Morning Jacket for that matter. My Morning Jacket is so incredibly underrated that it's kind of sick, they're performances are incredible, Z is one of the best written albums in American history, and Jim James is just a freaking god. But whatever if you all want your flavor of the week band to headline instead of musical gods then so be it. END RANT. Death to the radio.

It's not ridiculous at all to think Buffalo Springfield would preheadline. Just look at where they're placed on the lineup. They're number five. Stevie was number three.
I feel like there are so many potential late night bands this year that a few that most people are assuming will just be late night will actually end up playing during the day. Like EITS, for example.

So if Radiohead were placed number 5 they wouldn't headline either. Ok makes sense got the logic now

So you're saying that Arcade won't headline even though they're number two on the lineup? You're right, your logic makes SO much more sense ...
It's been pretty obvious for a while now that Arcade Fire is headlining Friday, Eminem on Saturday, and Panic is closing it out on Sunday.

and i'm not saying that i'm not excited to check out arcade fire live i've heard they're great live and I believe it. But at the end of the day I just don't think their writing skills are that good.
