I was just messaging thepuffbus guy on twitter about wiz at roo. I asked if he know when he was playing and he just said usually around 9?....so I figure he doesn't really know, but I'd be bummed out if he isnt a late night. Or maybe he is a Thursday tent closer afterall?

Later in the summer Wiz is doing pavilions.. like 10-20,000 person venues. Of course you need to factor in that this is a Bonnaroo crowd... but he's playing bigger venues than the current #3 on the lineup. Might want to keep that in mind when deciding where to place him in mocks (he's clearly as big as anyone on the 3rd line now... Roo crowd or no Roo crowd).
He's doing a college tour where he's playing college basketball arenas. He may or may not sell those out, but you gotta remember that college towns are probably one of his biggest demographics. So him in a tent is not out of the ordinary.

Yeah but after his college tour he's doing pavilions. Like Merriweather in Maryland and Bank of America in Boston. Those are huge venues. I guess Decemberists in '09 but there were other people on that bill.

biscuits and STS9 both played the BOA pavillion in Boston. Biscuits were in a tent, STS9 is notably more popular but will more likely than not be in a tent. Small chance they get the Which LN but i dont think those venues are a good test for who is not playing tents. Even if he does draw big crowds, he doesnt do it when there are 3-5 other acts on his level playing on the same night as him

The best thing about Wiz is how he used to just walk around Oakland walking into random parties and would just start rapping to whatever beat. Before he blew up he would hang out on our front porch, chill and smoke with us all the time. Dude rocks and I'm pumped with this looming lack of football season that I get to break out my Terrible Towel twice during Roo...Once for Wiz and once for Girl Talk

haha my terrible towel makes the trek with me every year. Kellee Maize is number 7 in the road to Roo contest too. If she makes it thats alot of 412 love this year at Roo!
Thought I'd check out Wiz Khalifa thought I'd start with inforoo suggestions BUT...There isn't a single one of his youtube video's in the entire thread...odd.

Guess I'll have to poke around myself.
His older stuff is pretty good. Stay far away from Rolling Papers.

Agree with this whole post. I remember seeing him back in Oakland during Prince of the City days. I'm planning on bringing the terrible towel down for the trek as well (unfortunately both Wiz and Girl Talk were scheduled during two other bands I really want to see; and being that I'm from Pgh I've seen them both numerous times before).

I actually carry my terrible towel every year to Roo as my cooling towel. Dip that bad boy in the cooler water before you leave camp and it does wonder during afternoone sets

Good call on the towel.
I must say, I am wishing I had a reason to sweat my ass off for a day again in my Pens jersey this year. I loved when Greg Gillis announced during his set that the Pens won.
Now only if TV on the Radio and Rusted Root were making the trip this year, then the 412 would really be represented.

^^one of my fav Roo moments ever. I just remember a girl coming running through the crowd yelling "The Pens won the cup!" Had to call home to check on that one lol. Made it even better retuning to camp that night because we were camped by Red Wing fans with their Detroit flag flying.
