Don't judge Wiz on this mixtape alone. . .in fact, I read he didn't even want the mixtape to be released. The mixtape dropped out of nowhere one night and he didn't promote it at all. He's been promoting his album (Rollin' Papers - March 29) for awhile now and never mentioned the Cabin Fever mixtape. Cabin Fever has been out for a long time..people have been waiting for that Homicide song for like a year and a half..and that Taylor Gang song is a Lex Luger beat that leaked a year ago and no one picked up on it.
I agree with you that it's a pretty weak mixtape, but it was just thrown together. I wouldn't judge him based on this mixtape. He still puts on a great show and his body of work is much better than the Cabin Fever mixtape. The songs that have leaked off the album are legit... so I'd take this mixtape with a grain of salt and wait for the album to come out.
I may be a little biased being from Pittsburgh, but Wiz puts on an amazing live show. Ill agree that mixtape is poop but every rapper has a few of those. Rollin Papers is definitely hot
Buddy of mine from NC was really into this dude. Found out he sampled some music from one of my favorite video games Chrono Trigger fer his song "Never Been." That alone makes me wanna check him out.

In Baltimore he's playing Pier Six Pavilion, which is interested because it's a 4000 person venue and typically gets bigger acts (and often older acts). I think last summer it had like Cheap Trick, Blondie, Heart, Beach Boys, CSN, etc (although it did have an Avett Bros Grace Potter near the end of the year).
Maybe he'll get get a better spot than the line-up position suggests.

I might check him out but I doubt it, I was actually surprised when he showed up on the bill. From the songs I have heard he seems to just repeat a lot of the same words: smoke, champagne, black, yellow.

i was really hoping for a wiz kalifa/curren$y co-set, but i'll definitely check out wiz kalifa barring any conflict. i know wiz and spitta are good friends in real life so i think the two of them on stage together would be awesome.
oh and if you guys dig on twitter, make sure to follow @realwizkalifa because he is hilarious. one of my personal favorites: "waken..... baken..... callin bitches ugly to dey faces"

i think hes alright, unfortunately for him he got billed alongside some of the biggest names in hip hop so it kind of dwarfs his appeal. Hard to get excited about Wiz Khalifa when you are thinking about Eminem, Lil Wayne and Big Boi
I was lying in a burned out basement With the full moon in my eyes. I was hoping for replacement When the sun burst thru the sky. There was a band playing in my head And I felt like getting high.

Personally, I'll take Wiz over J. Cole any day... but I'd say I'm a little biased being from Pittsburgh and all. They're both going to be in concert together at a small school in Pennsylvania on April 25th.. I don't know if they're together at any other shows on Wiz's tour or not.

J. Cole is far more impressive as a lyricist than Wiz Khalifa, and i cant speak for Wiz but i know J. Cole produces almost all of his own music himself

Nate where are you from in Pittsburgh?
I havent seen J Cole live, but Wiz puts on an awesome live show
I'm kind of hoping that something awful happens to him and Lil Wayne next month at little 500 in bloomington,IN. Like, getting arrested for sexual misconduct with a minor or maybe getting shot in the leg or something. Maybe they would replace them with someone good (or atleast someone who wouldn't bring out the douchebag in people), like the volta. I'd be just as happy with a solo Omar show.

You sound like a really cool person. /sarcasm
And LOL Mars Volta fans are pretty pretentious, and i love the Mars Volta
