Obviously we all go to Bonnaroo for a good time. The stories of people getting hurt and not getting good care are a bummer. I personally am CPR and first aid certified and would have been more than happy to help any injured folk had I encountered them. I came prepared with first aid kit including ace bandages etc. etc.
But what I am interested in is how you went out of your way to make other peoples experience better?
Personally i let a couple people who didn't have a hotel Wensday night use our shower. Cooked breakfast for neighbors 2 mornings and lent out an extra shade tent to some neighbors who didn't have one.
Also tried to practice a little tolerance for those drunken Rooers who happened too stay out a little later and get a little rowdier.
What a fantastic experience Roo turned out to be again this year.
How did you contribute to a positive Bonnaroo Vibe?
We chuckled over the obviously drunk college kids next to us the first night who were in their tent - 6 guys in one tent - at 4 a.m. arguing over who had who's blanket. (we remember being those people on the first night last year)
We also grilled deer sausage and chicken sausage one day at lunch time and shared with a really cool couple from New York that were camped close to us.
i kept a lot of people entertained by spinning poi (yes, they were actually coming up to me and thanking me for giving them 'something cool to watch' during waits for shows)
Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!

Around 4 or 5 am one night I saw some guys poking around our neighbors camp and I knew they were asleep and probably not wanting these guys going through their fully stocked cooler (which they graciously shared) and so from my campsite I yelled "MOUNTIES!" and pointed over towards the road which made the kids think mounties were coming after them so they darted off.
it also provided free laughs for my friends sitting with me cause it scared the shit out of a friend of mine who also was weary of mounties present

^^^ oh yeah - that reminded me - some girl wondered through our camp and stopped and asked if anyone had a tampon and we actually did - she was pretty happy about it

i gave away some goodies that i knew i wouldnt finish to some nice people, i shared water with people and i know this isnt actually giving anything away but i waved and said hello to alot of random passer-byers, and i know it makes me happy so im sure it makes them happy to ;D
I gave a guy who was missing a contact a pirate eyepatch. I gave Camp Inforoo a bottle of Absolut vodka. I let short people stand in front of me. I gave my parents tickets to Bonnaroo.
In the immortal words of Lester Burnham......"I rule!".
A lot of people around us had stakes and poles, but the hammers they bought weren't working too well. You really neeed a mallet. I happened to bring a nice sized rock with a good grip to hammer in our stuff. Well the rock became BonnaRock, and traveled around my camp, hammering in everyone's stakes. It even came back to me when I forgot all about it.
We treat mishaps like sinking ships and I know that I don't want to be out to drift Well I can see it in your eyes like I taste your lips and They both tell me that we're better than this

I helped a guy who needed TP. I gave him a single sheet and told him to use it wisely. The poor soul wandered off to the portajohn with his head bowed until I called him back to explain that I was joking.
Tried to give a ride to a guy with a sign saying that he needed to go my way, but for some reason he didn't like the look of me...
Yelled out a dozen Happy Birthdays to all those with signs or T-shirts.

lol, your so mean !!!! that would have been funny to see..
I loved each and every person who misted me with their water bottles. When I had one I would mist others also, but that was one of the best feelings to get surprised with water!
We misted a lot of people. We shared "stuff". our camp jumped 3 people off with dead batteries. We lent out a hammer and duct tape. We cleaned up after the Police, WSP, and our camp site was spotless so were the camps next to us. We made a lot of people laugh
We gave away beers on Sunday because we didn't want to take them home but then people didn't want bud but they wanted our pale ale and we gave them that, too.
The girl in the camp next to ours came over and asked to borrow our fire. lol we said ok not really knowing what she wanted. we only had a few small citronella candles around. she knelt down and cupped her hands around the candle for a few sec then jumped up and left. i looked over at their camp and realized they had no light at their camp and it was uber dark out. i walked over to their camp and gave them a brand new candle since we had brought a few & gave her her own fire. she was so happy!

Shared goodies, water, and shade. Lent out my mallet for tent stakes. Moved a couple tents to let someone out early. Also put out a fire that someone caused with their grill one night. And gave away a half roll of TP at the portapotties.
And thanks to all the misters, it was a lifesaver some afternoons.
My wife and I brought home-made pecan pie squares (about 3 dozen) to give out to neighbors/visitors through the weekend. I think we had 3 left by sunday.. I started bringing homemade bakery goods to Dead shows when I was in college to gift/barter with folks and found that giving out tasty homemade treats was a good way to set up a communal vibe and encourage a little kindness.
We shared our 12'x12' shelter and extra chairs with our neighbors on either side, had them to bring over their chairs and cooler to enjoy the shade. Soon our shelter became a center point for a small community of campers. We were all different ages and did our own thing but we got to know each other at camp and looked after each other's stuff-- it was a good vibe.
A neighbor and I chipped eggs and sausage to make breakfast burritos on Friday morning (eggs/sausage/onion/cheese/pico de gallo) we cooked up way more than we needed and gave out the extra, from then on people around us were chipping in food for communal breakfasts each morning.
Also we had this collapsible laundry hamper which we used to hold our trashbags open (lashed to the shelter leg with reflective guyline) It is handy having an real trash can to keep the area neat and our neighbors took to changing bags and taking the trash out to the pods.
With a lot of stuff we brought extra to help out others, hand sanitizer, food, water, tent stakes, I also brought a jump pack for car batteries.
I am really glad we ended up with cool neighbors that were responsive to this, but we also packed up with a little extra specifically to be good neighbors for someone else
. We helped them put it out.
