Eminem I dont think has any other shows outside of the rumored Lolla show... I havent seen Beirut billed for any other fests, not sure if theyre touring or not though. Bootsy Collins seems like a pretty rare get. Also they recently added "(original line-up)" to Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, that seems like its pretty unique. Also Ive never seen Del McCoury booked alongside the Pres. Hall Jazz Band
Can anyone explain to me the (original lineup) add to Bela Fleck and the Flecktones on the website? Is there someone other than Victor Wooten, Futureman, Jeff Coffin playing with them now?

From Wiki -
The Flecktones are currently touring with founding member and harmonica player Howard Levy for the first time in 18 years under the moniker "Béla Fleck and the Original Flecktones." They will eventually continue the tour with current member Jeff Coffin.

Per Wikipedia the only other founding member that isnt currently listed as a member of the group is harmonicst/pianist Howard Levy. Actually upon further research it says on Howard Levys page that he rejoined the group as a touring member in 2009, so I guess thats what that means.

LoLLolla rumors
Eminem is THE get of the festival circuit. I wouldnt be surprised to see him @ Lolla but as of right now there is no bigger exclamation point on any festival lineup in the country than this name
and hell ill argue that the next two are Buffalo Springfield and Dr. John. If these dont all jump out at you as why Bonnaroo is what everyone here makes it out to be then I'm sorry for your ears.

^ I gotta think that Kanye for Coachella and Paul Simon for Hangout are bigger gets than Dr John. Also ACL has yet to drop and Im sure theyve got something up their sleeve, Radiohead is rumored. Also ATP booked Portishead and Jeff Mangum, both pretty big.
I will agree you in that Roo has the 2 biggest gets so far with Buffalo Springfield and Em. I think BF is the biggest though.

Dr John is one thing, Dr John and the Original Meters is something else. I have not researched it, but I bet they have not all played together in 35 years or so. There have only a few one off meters shows since 1977.

im waaay more excited about either Dr. John show than Buffalo Springfield, I like Massive Attack better than Portishead, and im not the biggest NMH fan (GASP!!! there goes all my hipster credibility)
ATP does have some cool lineups though now that i am looking at them

Just curious, what does Massive Attack have anything to do with Portishead playing their only American shows?

I know they are touring, and have semi-regularly, but Bonnaroo is the only festival Atmosphere is scheduled to play other than Sonar in Barcelona. So thats somewhat of a "get," especially considering their popularity among the festival crowd.

Yeah this confused me too. And just because you dont like a certain act doesnt mean its not a big get.
I did forget about the Original Meters part though, I was only thinking about Dr John. That is a pretty big get. If you factor in the draw of the show alongside the rarity of it I still gotta think Paul Simon, Kanye, Portishead and Jeff Mangum are bigger though

As near as I can tell The Meters have not backed up Dr John since 1976, so that is a pretty huge get, though I admit there are certainly more people that would rather see the other acts.
Also SCI only plays a couple of shows a year these days, though they have their own festival. If you assume Jack White will be playing with Wanda, and Loretta, those will be pretty rare/big gets as well. I do not think Del McCoury plays with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band often either.

I mentioned the festival thing. Bonnaroo competes with Lollapalooza and Coachella ever year whether they like to admit it or not. A lot of the acts conflict, like The Strokes and Black Keys so far, but it's a get when we get someone like Explosions in the Sky at Roo and Coach doesn't grab em.
