Not necessarily, I would rock the f*ck out at both SG and the peppers... seems like they are going for a very specific demographic at the top though. And according to wiki, Blink never played Lolla, but they did form in 1992.
Is Frusciante even playing with RHCP? I heard he rejoined, didn't have it Kangfirm'd though. I'd rather see Frusciante play with the Mars Volta fulltime instead of RHCP x1000. Imagine TMV with Frusciante/Omar double lead guitars. I don't think you would be able to keep your face attached for 5 minutes.
From what I've heard, Orlando Calling is gonna be HUGE. Glastonbury dudes putting it on, and they have essentially unlimited funds to book giant acts. We'll see. I'm waiting on that lineup to decide if I'm going to it or to Bear Creek. It's gonna have to be firemost for me to skip seeing Trey at Suwannee!!

That sounds encouraging. I'm in the same boat. I'm going to one or the other, my wife's birthday is that weekend. I'll just go to whichever lineup she likes better. The Bear Creek venue is going to be better no matter which way you slice it, but I'd be able to drive home each night if Orlando works out which would be a first for me.

I can't believe the lack of communication from the Voodoo promoter. It's been a week without a peep. Nothing added since Odd Future. I love this fest, but this is so maddening. With 80+ bands still to be announced, I can find no logical reason why he hasn't continued to release more names. Any ideas?

Because somebody effed up bad and they have no more names currently? ??? Someone embezzled all of their money away?
They know most peeps are pretty annoyed, yet not a single peep of explanation. I hope they turn this around, it is going very sad at the moment. And I LOVE this festival. Don't want to see anything happen to it.
Well, while I too would like to get a solid line-up annoucement from my experience with VooDoo.....this is the norm!
They ALWAYS put on a great festie and party but somehow always pull it out at the last minute...like the rabbit out of the hat! Usually it's just the logistics that get put off (like press etc) but this year seems that EVERYTHING is being pulled together at the last minute. Which makes me think it will be beyond great when they DO get their act together......that is just the way VooDoo rolls!

They are waiting to drop a huge act on everyone. If they are waiting this long, it could be someone that sells 50,000 for one day alone. Maybe they want some people to go elsewhere?
Others suspect that the promoter's rape charge (it was thrown out 4 weeks ago) has caused artist managers to not confirm.
What about those proximity clauses that people often bring up? There are plenty of festivals near NO. Could they be keeping bands away?
I thought Jazz Fest had an astounding lineup this year, many of those artists could have played Voodoo, but prolly would not b/c of their appearance at Jazz Fest.

I'd like to think that could never happen to Voodoo. Still thinkin they have Foo Fighters in their back pocket, though that won't get me off. Forecastle did have to postpone their 10th anny this summer.

This is the way VooDoo works...they keep it under wraps til they KNOW exactly what they are doing. There will be more big acts and a TON of amazing second tier as well!
