Ray Davies is a great add and despite my previous comment I'd be happy to see Cheap Trick again. Cheap Trick and The Kinks were major steps for me becoming the rocker that I am today.
I am actually pumped about blink182! I liked them a lot when I was a teenager and I will never see them in any other circumstance because I'm not that huge of a fan. More of a nostalgiathing, but they would have been huge celebrities to me ten years ago
What is interesting about those two bands is that bl ink 182 essentially had more hits, but they are viewed as a washed up pop band whereas soundgarden is considered by many to be a classic alt rock group worthy of headliner status. In the end, the reality is that both are bands whos fans have gotten older, but not as many blink 182 fans are still interested in that style of music. I guess what I'm saying is soundgarden has aged better. I wouldn't be surprised if we have a more current headliner added

Who do you think that current headliner could be? I hope it's not some f'n rapper

This! If you go back and listen to even the earliest SG EPs and songs...they still have a very current vibe to them. I won't say they are AGELESS cause very few things in music are...but they definitely have a very unique style that transcends many genres. Pop is always, for lack of a better word, contextual. What makes Pop...well POP is that it's trendy, new and current. But out of context....as said better before me...doesn't age as well.

Playing a little catch up
Today Voodoo Experience Hip hop icon Snoop Dogg has joined the ritual.
Yesterday Voodoo Experience Pushing the boundaries of Cajun music, the Lost Bayou Ramblers with Gordon Gano of the Violent Femmes have joined the riutal
The day before that Voodoo Experience Making the trip from Liverpool England the Wombats have joined the ritual.
Last Saturday Voodoo Experience A curious New Orleans spectacle and the hosts of their own stage, the New Orleans Bingo! Show have joined the ritual
Last Friday Voodoo Experience Known as one of the first female drum & bass DJs in America, Star Eyes has joined the ritual.
Snoop Dogg was a hoot @ Roo 2009. And LOVE Lost Bayou Ramblers...tho they play most every year and will do an after show somewhere on Frenchmen (DBA??) as well!

Snoop opening for Phish lol that was awesome! I have never seen more of the good kind of smoke as at that Snoop show......the entire What stage area had a haze over it.
Snoop is the first real add in a while. Definitely a good add. It's nice to know he is the big hip-hop add instead of worrying about if they blew it and booked Kanye's bitch ass.
Based on the released lineup this year has nothing on 2009, but I'm still optimistic that there will be some amazing adds.

Seeing how much of the line up is very old school and not remotely current, with two headliners being reunion shows, it's a breath of fresh air to have a much hyped, only known about for a year group in the lineup. but where are the mgmt, florence, mmj, jonsi bands this year? Lets keep them coming voodoo
