Just a hunch, but I have a real good feeling about DFA1979 being there. They've played before.
I think the line up is actually going to be really great this year. It's a really great festival over all, definitely my favorite non-camping festival in the country.

Okay there is a huge Southwest sale, and I can get tix each way for $80 right now. It would be REALLY nice to know a lineup before this deal expires/sells out
Looks like he's playing down there on the 27th, which is the Thursday before the festival. He's booked up Friday and Saturday with an opening on Sunday in between an Austin and a Dallas show. I like Bassnectar but I hope Voodoo brings something better than the usual touring electronic acts. Would love some Chemical Brothers action at Le Plur this year.
If you go to their webpage, there's now a "full line-up" link to click, but it asks for a username/password??? Their Facebook followers seem just as confused as I.
Not huge into Major Lazer but a step in the right direction at least.
Did anyone remember seeing a tweet or something from last week saying to stay tuned to Thursday for "big news" regarding the Le Plur stage? Hopefully this addition isn't the "big news" as I was expecting maybe they release the full Le Plur lineup today...
This could change, but I have zero desire to go to this right now.
Call it a lack of patience maybe?
I was a lock before they announced anything.
Just have been deflating ever since.
Pretty much feeling the same way. I was seriously considering going this year, but this dragged out lineup announcement with no names jumping out at me... dropped to near zero interest in going.
Wow.....how many of you guys that are writing this fest off have never been? Cause trust me...there will be good music ALL THE TIME no matter what! New Orleans itself is worth the price of the festie...go see stuff you wouldn't normally see if there isn't a headliner that makes you jones....New Orleans IS Music, IS Food, Is Culture...and IS AN EXPERIENCE that you can't get anywhere else. And trust me...this is a great way to get a wonderful introduction to NOLA if you have never been there. More music on Frenchman and Bourbon and the whole city than NYC and LA put together! Seriously..... If you are into music, culture, food or just checking out what you haven't experienced....NOLA and VooDoo are perfect!

The critique has mainly been directed at the roll out strategy and not really the festival. The final product may end up being great, but in the meantime they are doing a lousy job selling it. There are so many better approaches they could have taken. This strategy gives a narrow view of the lineup as a whole, and if you don't happen to be a music fan that likes the music within that limited cross-section, it's understandable that your enthusiasm might lessen. It's possible to acknowledge that the strategy is flawed while still insisting that it's a great festival.
^ Good point. They're rolling out the lineup the way 'Roo does: in no rush, because they know people will come, regardless.
In the meantime, I gave up and picked Moogfest. I figure, if Voodoo surprises me with great adds, then I can sell my Moogfest ticket & cancel that hotel. As much as I love & miss New Orleans, I'd rather have a 4.5hr drive to the mountains than a trip to NOLA taking twice that long. That said, I am really hoping they drop some irresistible names - and soon!!! Either way, I will party somewhere awesome on Halloween weekend!

I am confused about this, because Roo gives at least 60-70 acts out the day they first drop. Unless you are counting 3rd party leaks that roll out before the lineup.
Which is how Voodoo is presenting this officially on a daily basis.

New dj announced, Mike Relm, has toured with Mike Patton, Del the Funky Homosapian, Gift of Gab, Lyrics Born. Does audio/video mash-ups. Could be cool.

I can see your point. However, once the entire lineup DOES drop...good luck getting a decent ticket price and a decent hotel price....cause it will be EXTREMELY competitive at that point.
