I have rooms for sale at the Holiday Inn Superdome for only $99 per night! That price includes all taxes and fees. The hotel receives good reviews and is very close to the street car that will take you right to Voodoo. The hotel will have completed a multi-million dollar renovation by the end of october (just in time for voodoo). The dates I have booked are Oct 28,29,30 and you must book all 3 days. Remember the price is ONLY $99 per night. Email me at Indywaiter@live.com and lets work out a deal.
Anyone else think Coldplay is a good possibility for a headliner this year? They seem to be hitting the late summer/fall festivals and would be a good fit for Friday night.
Yeah...Coldplay would have to step it up big time to be a headliner at VooDoo....maybe an afternoon set or even maybe 6-7 set pre-headliner cause the vibe at VooDoo just isn't into having headliners that are so...ummm...understated? Trying to be kind here... ;D
I agree! Best I figure from past years we should have the full lineup by end of June.....especially this year since it is so competitive. They have waited til after July 4th in the past, but I don't see that happening this year!

That is a good deal. Though I could never take it....my ex sis-in-law was the Office Manager at the Holiday Inn Superdome for many years...until Katrina hit. She left her house with her two year old adopted daughter and two suitcases of clothes and other stuff...left her dog in a kennel thinking she would be back in a couple of days. Never happened. The dog died in the kennel, and she was forced to choose to go back to a city that literally had NO infrastructure and no idea WHEN it would be restored. Her job was still there...tho everyone in the hotel was just cleaning up and trying to get it back to normal. But with a two year old and no daycare, no air, no electricity, food, ice, water.....there was no way she could go back. So she permanently relocated back here. Katrina was so personal for me which is just one reason New Orleans and VooDoo/Jazz Fest have such special meaning for me.....if you experienced NOLA before Katrina you know what I mean. I always go back at least once/twice a year but it will never be the same for me.....
^ this is making me want to go to Moogfest instead of Voodoo. So far, the ONLY band I haven't seen before is Soundgarden, and even that's more like a "wow, cool...a band from my college years" and not a "OMG, I must drop everything I'm doing and sell my soul to get there" kind of thing.
Come to think of it, the number of soul-selling bands on my list is pretty short. But damn, if there's one city where you're gonna do that, the Big Easy is the one! C'mon already, Voodoo: release the full quackin' lineup!!!

Fitz and The Tantrums ???
I am not saying they are not great, whoever they are, but can we get a NAME please? (My Chemical Romance does not count.)
I think they are shooting themselves with this ridiculous lineup release. In frustration and/or impatience, people who would probably buy a ticket are being given a lengthy chance to explore other options.
Maybe someone screwed up and they actually ARE announcing the bands AS they sign them? Nah, they have their act more together than that. Don't they?
You really have to ask after hanging with me a few times and seeing what the organization is like??
But....in all fairness...they SOMEHOW seem to pull it all together at the last minute to make it one of the BEST festies each year. Just because the lineup to date hasn't been stellar...they ALWAYS have one of the best undercard lineups of ANY festie including Bonnaroo....just saying....
Haahaaha! Really? MCR is only ONE band...there will be PLENTY of other music...but if you are serious about selling the early birds I want first dibs! ;D

Money Grabber is quite a catchy tune actually....
And really....any song that contains the lyrics "cheap dime whore"....how can you NOT like it??

Yeah, I understand the quantity of bands, but there's also a multitude of other fests. I adore New Orleans, but last years line-up proved weak enough to sell 'em and do Matador in Vegas, instead. Really hoping for some solid names soon. Wonder why they're toying with these small names now?

Yeah, right now this is making the Moogfest vs. Voodoo decision easy, which I was worried about. Soundgarden is awesome, but other than that.... P.tM is cool, but I've seen them twice this year.
