^ok chefchik sounds like a plan
Looking at that schedule, it's looking like when they add pretty lights in he'll be conflicting with DJ shadow.. which is just really, really shitty. Also when they add in PL Disco biscuits will be playing pretty early. I'm really going to have to rush in from work Why couldn't this be on a sat? ugh...

Damn this lineup looks great! I wish I was at our house in Houston this summer because this venue is only 5 minutes by car. Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion.
Skullcandy Main Stage
Pretty Lights / Rusko / The Disco Biscuits / Booka Shade / The Crystal Method / Afrobeta / Jessie and the Toy Boys / Burns
Rockstar Energy Drink x Dim Mak Stage
Steve Aoki / DJ Shadow / Datsik / Holy Ghost! / Hercules and Love Affair / Doorly / Le Castle Vania / The Eye
Advent Stage
White Shadow / LA Riots / Nervo / RioTGear / Marshall Barnes / Figo
Go to Charlotte date today. Kind of weird that they haven't posted the schedule for it, but whatever, it's going to be fun! Can't wait to see DJ Shadow!
Disco biscuits will be playing pretty early. I'm really going to have to rush in from work Why couldn't this be on a sat? ugh...
I hope the Biscuits still get a full hour to play. They are going to be on early, like 3ish, probably.
::waits eagerly for the schedule::
Crap! I think you're right about the early set... Now I have a tough decision.. is it worth calling in sick for a short daytime bisco set? I really was looking forward to seeing them
is it worth calling in sick for a short daytime bisco set?
That's a tough call. It's only an hour, at most, in the middle of the afternoon. With that said, it was an hour long afternoon set that hooked me on the Biscuits. This was it:

I'm pretty sure Pretty Lights will be up v.s. DJ Shadow down here too. This schedule will fuck me in all kinds of ways. I have to see Pretty Lights but I've always wanted to see DJ Shadow. I hope the schedules are staggered in a way that I can catch at least some of his set.
I'm going tomorrow. Lookin forward to it (and tryin to ignore the rain in the forecast)
They're listed by the lineup artists on each city's page... if you look at the ones in the past, you'll see the times next to each name. Might not go up until gates are already open, from what I can tell though...
So... idfestival.com/city/bristow/ is where I'm looking repeatedly to see set times, but don't know if they can get it up today. Charlotte's shows weren't up until after gates opened (I think I checked at 1pm and didn't see anything. saw it up later in the evening)
They have a mobile app that sends you a notification as soon as the set times are posted and you can check them from your phone.
I am going to Vegas Labor Day Weekend to see Deadmau5 for two nights Sept 2 & 3, and catching the IDENTITY Festival that following Monday on the 5th! Can't wait!
Sweet. I'll be sure to check out that mobile app. And Deadmau5 leading up to Identity Fest. I hate you for having an awesome weekend. Enjoy Vegas, punk.
oh. android too? I just didnt know what to search then... oh well.
So...just got back about 40 minutes ago. Good times. 1 friend called it "epic". Another 2 girls were confirming it was awesome as I left. Definitely enjoyed by all. Rained a bit, some crazy lightning around us the whole night, but we made it through. Set times are up there when you go in...and they did manage to change at least once, swapping Markus Shultz and Crystal Method at 1 point. Artist signings were cool. Friends met Steve Aoki, Crystal Method, saw Kaskade. Free slurpees... free yummy Rockstar energy drinks.
Prepare yourselves for a good time Now off I go to upload pics and videos on Facebook... lol

I arranged to get off early Thur so I can see the disco biscuits. I would've just been really dissapointed if I hadn't. Why the hell are they billed so low for this stop? Even chuckie got billed above them. I guess they figure Miami will be more into the straight up electronica. But damn.
I was going to ask you guys if Pretty Lights had his whole setup for the ID shows, but I just realized he doesn't jump on the tour til tampa next wed. How was the stage production for the other shows? Good lights, etc?
Went to Identity Fest last night and it was a blast(might have said epic). I met up with Ellie at the show and we both thought it was a great time. Kaskade impressed us both because his stage show was massive and a Huuge glow crowd due to the thunderstorm and the main stage being the only shelter. Stages were really close to each other so that was convenient and all the free stuff Ellie pointed out was great. That saved some bones that I would have spent on drink vendors. The lightning was a nice touch to the atmosphere of the festival.
Got to meet and get signatures from Steve Aoki and Ken Jordan from Crystal Method. Ken Jordan was fun to talk to cuz he was pretty drunk while explaining to me this crazy instrument he had on stage that was a synthesizer, a turntable, and a double bass guitar.
Great sets worth checking out Kaskade, DJ Shadow, Rusko, Steve Aoki, The Crystal Method (they still got it), Disco Biscuits, Chucky.

Were Aoki and Kaskade not conflicting?
I'm thinking they will be and was planning on Aoki because I know he's a sure thing for a fun show. And I think Kaskade is pretty boring but maybe it's time to see what all the fuss is about, and how the fuck he got to the point of headlining over all these other talented performers
With the stages that close was there not sound bleed?
Ok and also.. I was just thinking.. how the hell will they fit this
here
Bayfront ampitheatre is a fairly small venue. Some seats and then a very narrow lawn
Here's how the festival worked at DC's venue. Jiffy Lube Live, I know terrible name. It was better when it was called the Nissan Pavilion. The amphitheatre was the main stage. Where thee bathrooms are at, that shack with the red roof on the top left is where the Advent Stage. And the vacant parking lot beyond the tree line on the left that is cut off was where the Rockstar/Dim-Mak Stage was. It's spaced well.

There's a big park right to the south of the ampitheatre, I'm thinking all the other stages must spill out into it because there's really no other way. Bayfront is a much smaller venue (I think)

Up in DC, Aoki wasn't conflicting with Kaskade. They bumped him up and had DJ Shadow close out the DIM Mak Stage.
MAIN Kaskade 930-1100 Rusko 750 Avicii 615 Disco Biscuits 500 Chuckie 330 Booka Shade 210 Data Romance 100
DIM MAK DJ Shadow 945 Steve Aoki 745 The Crystal Method 625 Markus Schulz 515 Steve Lawler 405 (bag of suck) Modeselektor 300 Holy Ghost! 200 Hercules and Love Affair 100
Advent White Shadow 10 Manufactured Superstars 855 Nero 750 Leon/Darius Syrossian 650 Datsik 545 Le Castlevania 450 Jessie and the Toy Boys 425 Nervo 235 The Eye 140 Marshall Barnes 100
Sound bleed was not a problem only in between sets did you hear sound. You may have some coming from Main to Advent depending on size of locale. But the good thing to know is that DIM Mak and the Main won't.

Duuude.. I doubt that will happen with miami but I hope so. Because I really really want to see DJ shadow but if he's up against pretty lights (as I suspect he will be) I'm going to have to skip him. If I can see both I'll be so happy
Ok, so based on the line up for Miami and the set times for DC, I think we may be looking at a schedule something like this. Although, they might switch things around some. If this is how it goes, then I plan on seeing the Disco Biscuits, the Crystal Method, and Booka Shade if I'm there early enough. The rest of the night I'll just have to play it by ear.

I'm not going to do any hardcore planning for this festival. I just know I need to see Disco Biscuits and Pretty Lights. In between I wouldn't mind seeing anyone else on either the 2 primary stages. Ideally I'd like to be able to do DJ shadow, Rusko, Crystal Method, Datsik, Steve Aoki, and some of Kaskade. I might do a bunch of jumping around, depending on how I'm feeling at the time and what my friends want to do.
^at the Charlotte date it was really easy to jump back and forth between the two largest stages. I saw almost every act there.
Also, I know PL is awesome, but I would seriously consider going to DJ Shadow. PL tours around all the time and will surely be to Miami in the next year or so. DJ Shadow touring is much rarer... just my two cents.
