Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
To follow up on the earlier question, I asked someone at AC about it when I went to pick up posters. They confirmed that it's bad information, and they were going to send it to someone else in the office to see about getting it changed/taken down. If nothing else, the phrase "first come, first served" implies that you have a choice in where you park, and when have you ever had that at Bonnaroo?
Sorry if I'm misunderstanding, but are they saying that I can literally camp wherever I want to if that spot isn't taken? That'd be very awesome, but I can see it be chaotic if this was the case.
That would be what the statement would imply. I was using it as further evidence that is a garbage statement because the statement has been on the website in various forms for years, and your choice of camping spot has been very strictly controlled every year that this statement has been on the site. You touch on the larger logistical issue that allowing people to pick and choose where they would camp would take highway traffic to a virtual standstill, your time waiting in line would skyrocket to levels that haven't been seen in years, and I could only imagine the insane turf wars that break out among patrons as they desperately try to save a spot "for my friend that's in line right now! #radiatepositivity, bro." Bonnaroo makes some piss poor calls at times, but "first come, first serve" camping is too insane for them to even consider.

Nope, sorry, you will go exactly where you are told. At Nelsonville Music Festivla in Ohio this past weekend I was shocked when I pulled in, saw no parking staff whatsoever, and one guy came up and said, "Feel free to park wherever you want, man." Granted, this event was maybe 1/10th the size of Bonnaroo, but it was a nice little surprise, and everyone had as much space as they thought they needed. It would be nice if Roo were like that, but they'd probably need a few hundred more acres, and finding open spots would be a nightmare clusterfuck. It really is too big to make it a free-for-all.

Yea it'd be too much of a process all around to pull off something like that. Wish I could have made it to that Nelsonville Festival. Seems like it's doing pretty well.
Does anyone know the approx. time the pod 1 quarantine is over?
I don't know if they've changed it in the last year or two but the quarantine used to be in place until the pod was full because otherwise people escaping to Tent Only would be crossing traffic.

Not sure. I've heard that they "fixed" the situation but I haven't heard it from anyone that experienced it.
Planning on touching down in Manchester at about 1 PM central time Wednesday and heading for Accessible.. Any new developments/old ones that I may have missed that I should be aware of?

So my bf and I haven't had to come in with the GA crowd since 2007 so we're a little nervous about where we'll be placed. We've never been super close but also haven't been super far so I guess we've gotten lucky over the years. That being said, he wants to be in line around 7-9 a.m. Thursday morning. Anyone have any experience with this? Will there still be a lot of traffic? Will we be far out?

I've done VIP since 2011, so my memory is a bit...faded, but from what I remember, coming in Thursday morning/afternoon is best for getting a good campsite in GA. In 2007, I arrived at 9am on Thursday and was placed right next to the garlic grilled cheese stand. Hope this helps!

Might as well get some bones to throw, as you'll have just as much accuracy that way as anyone's guess.
There is no arrival time = location correlation, with the exception of arriving very early will land you in the quarantined BFE.
The gates will be open by then. I want to say they opened at 4pm or so last year. I could be off on that though.
Thanks for this. I've been wondering when they open the gates on Wednesday. I understand you left a margin of error.
They have always had an official time where it opened but have opened the gates earlier. The conventional wisdom (which may or may not be accurate) is they open them when the amount of people in line starts to interfere with the interstate/local roads.

Good to know, I was really confused on how the line worked hours before the campground opened.
Has anyone been stopped by authorities to get their car searched where volunteers check cars? Our group has some 21+ and some under 21, but everyone is bringing alcohol. No drugs however. Do your IDs get checked when you're stopped by cops there or are they mainly just looking for drugs?

Yes, the police do search some of the cars coming in. I don't know if they would check IDs for the alcohol. My assumption is that you would just say it's for the 21+ people that are in the car as my guess is that the police give zero fucks about Bonnaroo's alcohol limits.
Does anyone know the approx. time the pod 1 quarantine is over?
last year it filled up pretty quick - i was in pod 2 and came in about midnight that wednesday night into thursday morning. I know attendance is down this year supposedly so who knows??

Hey nerdbyrd.....did you come in on the main Bushy Branch Rd entrance at that time or was the interstate entrance open?

interstate entrance was open i believe --- it was my first year and i know we didn't take any backroads. i came in through town and set on the bridge over the interstate and came in that way. that's the interstate entrance, right? lol i think when we left the farm we left on bushy branch rd which was not how I came in
Once we all start heading in everyone should post when they started in, and what Pod they end up in.
last year someone started an arrival thread. it was a blessing to me bc i had no clue where i was and people on inforoo were able to help me navigate my surroundings. I had no clue what pods were. I just knew there was a huge 2 balloon above my head lol

Just how drunk were you when you were going in? LOL!!! I'm pretty sure if you went over the bridge that goes over the interstate you actually did enter on Bushy Branch Rd. You took a right after you got over the bridge.....correct? Not making fun.....just having fun!!!

Yes, that is how it happened. We took back roads and came in through alabama actually. We just followed the GPS. Also it was midnight and my surroundings weren't as easy to see as in the daylight. I honestly don't remember much lol I was also really excited and just followed everyone else. I had to make a pit stop at the high school to pick up my tickets from will call. Then we couldn't find an actual address to the farm so we just followed traffic until we got stuck in traffic and assumed it was correct.
p.s. i was driving so i wasnt drunk lmao i was legit having a blonde night
So I'm still a bit confused, if I arrive Wednesday night and get put in Pod 1, I'm quarantined off from going to Tent Only. But does that mean people camped other places can get a head start to Tent Only? And when would they end the Pod 1 quarantine

Yes, this is the case. It is hard to say when the quarantine will end because it is based on the traffic on the road (i.e. cars, equipment, etc.) that cuts pod 1 off, but it seems that it is usually sometime before daylight on Thursday.
