"Once your vehicle is processed, you’re good to enter. Next, follow the parking staff’s directions to your camping area - camping locations are on a first come, first served basis. This means the earlier you enter, the closer you will camp to Centeroo and the Main Venue."
Does this mean the pod 1 quarantine is over? and if we arrive early Wednesday we WONT be put in BFE!?
They've had something similar to this in the official wording for years. I remember bacon and I fielding a similar question a couple years ago in the Ask Gary days on the website. I'd be shocked if they changed it to make that statement accurate.
Pod 1 will always be quarantine on weds because of the way the traffic flows when a majority of people come in on Thursday. It was discussed last year when I worked when we were given the run down on the way patrons would be brought in. I wih I could remember the exact phrasing that was used for the reasoning, but when he explained it, it actual made a lot of logistical sense.
Also, Pod 1 really isn't that far when you use the entrance on the side that runs along VIP. The walk to the campsites can kinda suck if you're far back, but the walk into the venue when you get to that dirt road isn't that bad. Better than like pod 11/12 or whatever by the bushy branch road tolls.

There is the one road that runs from the GA entrances to Pod 1. This is the same road that runs from the VIP entrance to VIP. They fill Pod 1 first, so it is over and done with and the road can be clear to bring in all the VIP patrons on Thursday morning. Otherwise, traffic going to two different areas would be going in opposite directions on that road which by would be a massive clusterfuck. Add to that, they use that road after Pod 1 is full and before VIP gets opened for heavy equipment used in the final prep for Centeroo which is why they have previously closed it for foot traffic as to lower the risk of patron injury.
Also, they shut down that whole are on weds when people are coming in and it completely halts production. They try and fill it and reopen it as soon as possible so that staff can continue to use it. It's the only road on that side that connects to Production Road behind the stages. The only other access is through centeroo & on the back side of the tents. Which is really far from that side of the grounds.

This is exactly what we were wondering last night when we saw this -- whether it was a specific policy change this year or whether it was old wording that isn't true-to-life but keeps being recycled every year. Thanks for clearing up that it's old wording! We just hadn't noticed it before.

When I looked, I thought it was funny that the left column at around the same place says to go where you're told. A nice contrast with what's on the right.

That's why they fill Pod 1 first, but they quarantine so they don't have to stop traffic for pedestrians. Imagine the clusterfuck of all three
Does anyone have experience coming in at 2pm or 3pm on Thursday?
That's about when I got in in 2009, but it feels like it's so long ago that it shouldn't really count. I remember reading that the line has dropped off significantly by that point these days, but I don't know for sure.

Getting in last year seemed really chaotic to me. At one point we were no longer following the line to our campsite and were basically just driving around open field until we somehow found the line again and got back in.
We usually arrive between 6a-8a Thursday morning and have always been a comfortable distance to centeroo.
I know this article was posted before, but I'm interested in how many changes in regards to traffic and festival entry take place, if any. Anyone think this could lead to updated entrances to decrease entry time? Seems like this may be a focus with the city and Bonnaroo. Wondering how preferred entrances may be impacted. If I'm remembering correctly I thought someone said on another thread that they saw work being done on the freeway entrance.

Last year I don't think we got on to site until around noon. We ended up about 100 yards from the pod 6 balloon. And we never were rally stopped while in line. Just a slowish(10-15 miles) crawl to the toll booths.
Edit: I should add that the line was still pretty long. But by the time we got to the front we were moving pretty quickly. And it didn't seem like a lot of cars were building up behind us.
Anyone have a map of the whole festival? Like, preferably one from 2014?
There's a map of Bonnaroo thread on here somewhere. I'm on my phone and mostly drunk our I would look it up for you. There's a huge version of the 2014 map on there.

For some reason I read this as " I'm at work and mostly drunk." I was picturing one person drinking alone under one turned on light in a dark office. I'll keep picturing it that way.

Here's one from 2013:
Edit: No it's not...
I found one in the map of bonnaroo thread, but thanks anyways. Does anyone know how far of a walk it is from tollbooths to tent only? I will be arriving via greyhound and I just wanted to prepare for the walk and figure out the best way.

Which tollboth does Greyhound drop off at? There are three, I think.
"The Greyhound Bus Line goes right to Manchester, TN and the bus station is located 1-mile from the festival at 617 Woodbury Hwy, Manchester, TN 37355. Remember, we don’t offer transportation from the bus stop to the festival so have a friend pick you up or take a local taxi."
Edit- Breakfast feast @ teh Wafflehouse which is right next to the greyhound station:)
"Once your vehicle is processed, you’re good to enter. Next, follow the parking staff’s directions to your camping area - camping locations are on a first come, first served basis. This means the earlier you enter, the closer you will camp to Centeroo and the Main Venue."
This is on the Bonnaroo website...can anybody provide insight into this? Has it always said that but it doesn't actually work that way? Or are they doing things a little differently this year?
I apologize in advance if this has already been mentioned or touched on, haha.

I believe it's always said that, and it's a lie.
In fact, the earliest people to arrive will be quite far out in the quarantined BFE. After that, it's a random crap shoot.

That's been on there for ages. It was mentioned that it was on there in the 'Ask Garry' days. I wouldn't count on that being the case. EDIT: See the top of this page.

I emailed them about this, and the reply was: "The information on the website is correct, and camping spots will be designated on a first come first serve basis."

To follow up on the earlier question, I asked someone at AC about it when I went to pick up posters. They confirmed that it's bad information, and they were going to send it to someone else in the office to see about getting it changed/taken down. If nothing else, the phrase "first come, first served" implies that you have a choice in where you park, and when have you ever had that at Bonnaroo?

Thanks for the insight guys! I was assuming that it wasn't quite accurate, considering that my first two Roos have been a total crap shoot in terms of camping. I just wanted to check and see what you guys thought.
I've never read much on the Bonnaroo website, to be honest, so I never noticed it before. My first year, I discovered most of the information I needed from Inforoo before I even became a member, haha. Thanks again!
Edit: Shit! I'm sorry this was literally just posted not too long ago. I should have waited to post until I had time to read through the thread, haha. Instead I just had a moment of panic and jumped the gun.

Sorry if I'm misunderstanding, but are they saying that I can literally camp wherever I want to if that spot isn't taken? That'd be very awesome, but I can see it be chaotic if this was the case.
