are there any guesses on which tollbooths are best to enter to get closest to centeroo? also what times?
i know we're all guessing here because i've never figured out the best way either.
There are a lot of guesses, in this thread and others. And seemingly even more exceptions to and refutations of those guesses. Tons and tons of observations at least, if not guesses. And this year they'll definitely be doing things differently due to the campground changes and (probably) substantially lower projected attendance. Barring some unprecedented public leak of their parking plan we really can't know what will happen until we reach the farm. I sure wouldn't mind if someone would prove me wrong though.

Yeah as said above lots and lots of observations/strategies. I personally swear by the highway tollbooth. I've gone through it 4 years in a row now at varying times, and have only had 1 semi far spot.

i've gone through the east and west tollbooths but have never done the highway one. it seemed i was going to get on the highway tollbooth last year but i got redirected a long ass way all the way around to the east one. how are you entering the highway tollbooth, are you coming in from the south?

Even if you're coming from the north, they redirect you to come from the south.
For my three years in GA, we used the highway tollbooth and have been very lucky, getting camped somewhere near pod 6 or 7 (Chewbacca, Han Solo, and Boba Fett). We tend to get in line in the middle of the night and reach our spot by the first light of dawn. It makes for a long, exhausting Thursday, but it's been worth it.

Just to add my input, as flawed as it may be, every year (2011-2014) we entered the highway tollbooth with mixed but not horrible results: Han Solo (best), Peter Venkman, Biff Tannen, and can't remember the 4th. Last year, we were re-routed to Bushy Branch and ended up in Stewie Griffin. So, who knows, but I'll be aiming to try and enter the Highway tollbooth this year.
So what's the deal with pod one? Is attendance low enough that they don't need it? Us volunteers got an e-mail that the field was going to be open for us to use for frisbee, kick ball games, etc...
I normally take back roads in to enter on Bushy Branch (I HATE waiting in traffic) but this year I committed to Tent Only by buying the Parking Only pass and saving $20. Parking in Day Parking looks to be closer than where I've been parked right next to the Bushy entrance but it does require waiting in 24 traffic. Pray for my soul.

... That is fucking crazy. Yes, I think that definitely proves that attendance is super low this year.

I am not doubting that attendance feels like it will be down significantly this year (not that I am on board with the 46k number but still down). As I posted elsewhere on this, I still think axing Pod 1 could have more to do with it not being needed anymore or being worth the headache associated with it logistics wise. They've opened all the super BFE camps in the last few years, and I recall seeing empty campgrounds over the last few years. Why keep the pain in the ass Pod open when ones that are with the rest that are sitting empty even with better attendance? It just makes sense to cut that annoyance.

Had been planning on arriving in line around noon Thursday. Is that going to put us significantly far away from Centeroo though? We did the long interstate line of death last year and it was 0 fun, so just looking for a way out of that

So you normally come in the East tollbooth? Is there any way you can take back roads to get to the West tollbooth? I come up hwy 55 from the South so I end up at the West tollbooth (next to Day Parking) without getting on hwy 24. If you take 55 from the North, do they route you to the East tollbooth?
Could you go in the East tollbooth anyway, like you normally do? I think I'd rather sit in traffic within Bonnaroo than on hwy 24.
I can speak from experience that if you take the backroads to hwy 55 from the north heading south, you end up at the West Tollbooth. They take turns letting cars from the north and south in from hwy 55.

Alright. I'll have to play with Google Maps to figure out how to make that happen without getting sucked into the 24 gridlock.

PM me if you want and I'll gladly share the google map route I made for it.

Did want to start a new thread for this questions... But are we supposed to put the camping pass on or cars before we get to the booths? Or will the staff put them on for us?

Good question. I'm nowhere near my stuff right now to see if it's in there somewhere.

They are asking people to put them on before they arrive I'll probably just wait till I'm waiting on the line though

Same. I don't have anything illicit worth hiding in my car, but I generally try not to draw attention to myself on the ride down with the car pass or writing with car markers, etc. I feel like it just increases the likelihood of getting pulled over.
Just out of curiosity, what is the best way to get in line for the highway tollbooth if I'm coming west/north bound on 24 (from Florida) and arriving at 9pm Wednesay? I've heard so many things about cops blocking off that entrance, or getting in line to the highway entrance by taking back roads, I'd just like to hear what you guys think/any advice. Is the only way too get into line for the highway tollbooth from the Walmart exit? Thanks in advance!

Drive until you see the line on the right side, and pull over into the line. That's it. The way to get into the highway line is by heading westbound on the highway, which is what you'll be doing anyway. It is sort of a makeshift, Bonnaroo-only exit, accessible only from one direction (not the band, or eastbound).
Just got outta the Manchester wallyworld.....they're ready for ya! There's a stack of beer cases that runs from the front of the store all the way to the back....looks like the frickin great wall of China, man...

We're on the very edge of the trees in pod 2! We connected pop ups with like 5 groups so if you see a bunch of them right on the edge that is me! That's probably not a good description oh my well.
