I'm thinking of just doing car camping this year, TO is too stressful for me. Does anyone know if you can claim an extra space to camp with the parking people if you have more than 4 people in your car?
Nope, each car gets one campsite, regardless of the number of people in the vehicle.

I thought I remembered someone emailing roo and asking about that and they said cars with 4+ people get extra room
the people parking you are volunteers and a few parking staff. They don't really get told that even if that's an official rule.
it's not likely they'll give you extra room unless maybe you're in a longer than normal car (van), *if* they're creative thinking/thoughtful enough to maneuver you a certain way to do that. When my boyfriend volunteered in parking, he tried to help accommodate people, but in general, I wouldn't count on it. I'd suggest if they see this to put you in a new line so can you have 2 car spots and then they do normal parking next to you when they're done with the previous line of parked cars/campsites, but some people don't realize this.
Your safer bet is taking more cars, even though that's less green/more gas (but at least you get more packing room that way too). I assume if the car is big enough (like with a bus, etc), you may need to end up getting an RV pass and camping in that section.
Your campsite is determined by # of cars, not number of people. 1 campsite per car.
I sent an Email to Roo before you responded and I got this reply, just thought it might help others. I plan on printing it and bringing it with us in the car just to show the people moving traffic. Just wanted to share
"Hi Jacob,
Thanks for getting in touch. Camping is arranged based on the time at which you arrive to the festival. If you arrive in line with everyone you wish to camp with, you will be camped next to those people. Carpoolers with four or more people in a car are eligible for extra camping space. We are working with our personnel to coordinate this, but please communicate with the parking attendants as you arrive, as it can be difficult to see how many people are in each car.

has anyone ever tried this? How much space extra you think they give?

Since I had printed out this email it worked, they gave us about half an additional camp space per 4+carpool vehicle. They were very reluctant to give us the extra space. If you have a large group just shoot them an email and ask, print of the response and show it to those who are directing the traffic.

Toll Booths opened a little bit after 3pm last year. I know this because I was a volunteer working Toll Booths on Wed

I believe you will be fine without an RV pass; however, you will not receive any more length for your camping spot than those rockin' a Prius. We all get about 10' x 30'; more of your space will be eaten up by your fancy whip. Suppose if you utilize the topper on the back, you could mitigate the loss.
"According to our Bonnaroo dictionary, an RV is defined as any vehicle equal of, or larger either in length, width or height than an average 15-passenger van (230.8? x 79.3? x 82.3?). This means any oversized vehicle, trailer, towed camper or bus is considered to be an RV. (Important: A box truck is not an RV. It is a box truck and box trucks are not allowed.)" www.bonnaroo.com/tickets#rv-parking-options
Like jfg108 said, you get the same size spot regardless of what car you drive into GA, so plot out your space accordingly. I know others have posted about getting extra space if you have more than 4 in your car, but I have never seen the results of this firsthand. I am pretty sure it is something you would be best served to email about in advance.
Might have to look into using the cab as some sort of shelter though considering 20 of my 30 feet will be eaten by my truck lol.
It's my only option unfortunately..
That 244 vs. 230.8 worries me a little since length is probably the dimension they would worry about the most. I doubt they would get too uppity about it since you should still fit in your spot. Just plan ahead with your layout and you should be fine.

Can't say for certain but I'm pretty sure this is what I rented and brought last year and had no problems. Of course we had about 4 other cars with us so space around us wasnt an issue, I could see where it might be if you were by yourself and lousy neighbors. My buddy slept in it all weekend. I slept in the backseay Sunday during the rain and it really wasnt that bad.

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but I think your truck is too big. If you follow the wording exactly, it says that (emphasis mine):
RV is defined as any vehicle equal of, or larger either in length, width or height than an average 15-passenger van (230.8? x 79.3? x 82.3?)
Strictly speaking, your truck is longer than the dimension given, so the fact that it fits the other two dimensions is meaningless based on the either/or wording. This is not something I'd want to wait and see once I arrive at the festival. You should really consider sending them an e-mail in advance so you can avoid headaches later.
Edit: Just realized you guys figured out the same thing while I was typing out my response. Hope I don't come off as know-it-all-y. I'm sure this will work out for you whatever the outcome. Good luck!

Oh no, it's all good haha. I got what you were saying.
I think I'm definitely going to email them.. but I also think I'm going to go outside and physically measure my truck.. because I don't feel like my truck is 20 feet long... those were just stats I found online.

I don't think an F150 in any trim or configuration would ever be classified as an RV, even if it runs afoul of Bonnaroo's "official" size limitations. If it isn't jacked up to the sky, and doesn't have any weird aftermarket stuff or a trailer then it's just a full-size pickup. Ruling crew-cab pickups to be RVs would be very, very odd, and I've never heard of anyone having trouble with them. Bonnaroo would piss off a LOT of people that way, as these are decidedly NOT recreational or commercial vehicles. The regulations are designed to prevent people with RVs from camping in GA car areas and taking up too much space, getting stuck, or blocking others, not to nail people with technicalities. F-150s are generally daily drivers, so I wouldn't worry about anyone pulling out a measuring tape when you roll in.
If you do email them, I would emphasize that although the truck is long, it is a normal full-size pickup, and not a heavy duty or commercial model.

Just putting this out there. I recommend you stay one extra night in the hotel especially if you're camping. Roo is a marathon and that extra night will make an incredible difference. Even if you leave Michigan later. I drive down from Toronto each year so I can relate with the distance.
Since they started opening the gates earlier, we've left on Wednesday AM, stayed in a hotel in either Nashville or Chattanooga, and arrived prior to 10AM. No lines at all.

Definitely something to consider. We went last year and arrived around 3am Wednesday night/Thursday morning. But we also left Sunday afternoon and this year we're staying until Monday. We're hitting Nashville on Tuesday because it's my friend's birthday, haha. Thanks! =)

My bad. Didn't realize you'd been before.
No worries! Until you said something, I didn't consider the fact that we'll essentially be there two extra days this year, which could very well push us over the edge, haha.
