Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Oh probably Wednesday or Thursday, either way we'd be heading to the Farm Thursday Morning / Afternoon
As an update I recieved the following from Bonnaroo info:
Thank you for your interest in the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival!
Unfortunately, we are unable to any additional information about tent camping. We recommend getting there as early as you can to ensure a space in the campground!
Please let us know if you have any further questions!

How wonderfully helpful hahaha, so our plan is just to wander around and find a space anywhere to plop our tent down on.

That sounds like a plan, because that is exactly how Tent Only works, I believe: find open ground, pitch tent. Then control your excitement and set up your tent, and camp within a stone's throw from the arch. (Anybody? Bueller?)
My biggest fear of traveling to Roo is that I'll get stuck in a super long line during a peak arrival time and run out of gas. What are some good tips for avoiding doing so? Best places to fill up outside/near Manchester? I can't imagine waiting 6-8 hours so I would love some input from some people that have experienced this

If you're coming from Nashville, stop in La Vergne (exit 64 has Pilot Truck Stop...do this...and get coffee and snacks), Smyrna, or Murfreesboro (exit 89 has Love's Truck stop). If from the south on 24-North, stop in Monteagle (exit 135).

Appreciate it! Coming from MS!
Making my way from MS as well. Went last year and gas was never really an issue and I don't recall filling up near Manchester. We also got in really late Wednesday night/Thursday morning.

So in 2012 my group left Iowa like at noon on wednesday, and when we got to roo there was no line, and were were able to get into the campsite really quickly. In 2013 we left Iowa at 1pm wednesday, got to roo around 2am and all hell broke loose. We were stuck in line for 7hrs and didn't get to the campground tell around 10am Thursday. Anyone know if that is the normal deal or if 2012 was just a fluke?

Just a reminder that when you do leave for Bonnaroo, DO NOT RUSH. The road trip is half the fun, ride in the right lane. You will get there when you get there. Plan ahead for traffic. You also have almost no say where you will be camped.

I'd recommend filling up your tank very shortly before getting in line, and getting yourself a couple of gasoline containers with spouts and filling them up too, just in case.

This. I think my first year is still the longest I waited, but I didn't mind because I was so into seeing all the people in line with me and the various goings on.

We arrived in 2013 @9am Thursday morning. Sat in line for less than an hour and got into a site right away. We were in POd 8 which wasn't too terrible. Planning on getting there around 5-9pm Wednesday this year.

It might've just been my car (2001 Toyota Avalon) but we filled up our tank right before getting in line and waited 8 hours in line. We ended up with about a 3/4 full tank when we were setting up camp.
I'll be coming from Jackson as well! Leaving wed. around noon. I went last year for my first time and the line to get in wasn't too bad when I got in it at around 9:45 thurs. morning. I was setting up camp by 12:30ish from what I remember. I defiantly recommend filling up your gas tank before you get in line though if you are driving an SUV or truck.
Coming from Michigan but I'm staying a half hour south of Nashville/half hour north of Manchester from the 9th until the 11th/12th. Trying to decide between sleeping in a house Wednesday night and leaving Thursday morning or heading over Wednesday so the wait in my car isn't too bad. I'm attending the festival solo, so any advice? This thread was extremely helpful too as this is my first Bonnaroo. Thanks!

Last years wait was pretty fun for me, i unpacked all my squirt guns and me and friends had squirt gun fights from car to car and through out all the traffic. You also have time to meet some cool people that will probably be your neighbors

I've gone in both Wed night and Thurs morning and both are fine. You could end up in BFE (pod 1) if you go in Wed night, but this way you do get an extra night on the farm during a weekend that goes by much too quickly. For what it's worth, I thought staying in a hotel on Wed night would have me way more rested and ready for the weekend but I was too excited to sleep anyway. A hotel room after roo, however, is probably the greatest thing on earth. Anyway, you'll have an incredible weekend no matter what you decide.

Thanks for the help! Strongly considering getting my rest in on Wednesday and heading over Wednesday night because I probably won't be able to sleep that night anyway like you said.

This is my first year driving! If I arrive Wednesday afternoon as early as possible and I get put in BFE camping or POD 1 or whatever, will I be able to immediately haul my things to tent only? Or what's the whole deal with this quarantine thing I keep hearing about!

The Pod 1 quarantine is where they close off the exit to Pod 1 until sometime Thursday morning, so you would be stuck there until then unless you run through the woods like rdk.
This year I can't leave until after work on Friday I will probably arrive in Manchester around Kanye's start time...has anybody ever come in on Friday night? If so, how is the traffic?

I would recommend stopping in Murfreesboro depending on where you are traveling from. There are about 5 gas stations off both sides of the interstate and also wal-mart is right there if there is anything you have forgotten and need to pick up! I live about 30 minutes from the farm. I usually make it in within 4 hours or so but in 2010 it took about 8 and a half. All the exits near the bonnaroo exit are going to be blocked off with cops by them. You can pull off if you need gas just seems like a hassle. I have always taken the interstate until last year I took back roads and it only took me about two and a half hours to get in and set up my camp site. I will be taking that same route again this year!

Has anyone ever drove in from Murfreesboro? I live here and me and my friends are trying to decide when the best time to leave is...I don't wanna be in BFE, of course, but it won't be the end of the world if we end up out there. Just looking for some helpful tips. It's our first time.
