Anyone ever arrived Thursday night? 8 PM? Hoping to avoid a long wait and BFE.
Thanks Everyone
You'll avoid BFE pretty much anytime you leave on Thursday...except maybe between midnight and 3am. I'm leaving Nashville hopefully around sunrise on Thursday and without one worry of being in BFE
Last year I arrived in Manchester at 9pm on Wed. We hung out at the gas station and check inforoo to see when BFE was filled up. We got in line at 9:30 and we were parked right behind the little stage / bus on Shakedown road around midnight if I remember correctly. One of the best spots we have had yet in 10 years of going. Year before that we arrived at 11pm on Wed and got a spot similar to last year but a little further back toward Bushy Branch Rd but still a great spot. Inforoo has def helped us with getting those spots though and avoiding BFE.

Thank you very much for the help. I've read a lot of threads but they mainly talk about Wednesday night, Thursday morning, or even Friday morning. I realize this is a crapshoot and there is no 'perfect' solution -- however it is good to have some idea being as this is my first year.
For the guys....don't forget a 3 liter bottle for bathroom breaks while waiting in the car line. For the girls.....good luck.
One of my first Bonnaroo memories is sitting in line on the way in watching ladies from nearby cars break down one by one and make a dash for the tree line after we had been in line for over an hour. It got to the point where people would cheer every time someone took off.

Maybe throw one of these in the back of the car. :lol

This will be my third year at Bonnaroo and I am going to try Tent Only for the first time. Any advice as to when I should arrive to secure a spot? I was thinking Wednesday evening.

This will be my 4th year, done tent only the past 3 years and got in anywhere from 9-12 Wednesday night and we always had to do quite a bit of looking around to find a spot to squeeze about 5 tents and a canopy...If you're in by Wednesday evening, there will prob be a good amount of tents but you should be able to find a good spot no prob...and there's a reason why the lower lying strip of land opposite of the side towards VIP is empty...learned the hard way in 2012 when I woke up Sunday morning with 3 inches of water in my tent...
Last year, someone did everyone a great service by creating one of these maps. I haven't seen one of these posted yet either here or on Inforoo and we're around a month out, so I wanted to get this going again.
At the link below, please add a location on the map and detail your arrival gate, time, and any other notes that you want to share:
I don't think you always have a choice. I came on the interstate, but they routed me around to it last year at around 9-9:30AM.
Last year my group was in line south of I24 on Hwy 55, we probably got in line about midnight on Wed. night. I did this purposely so that we would go into the Bushy Branch entrance. We got re-routed back onto the interstate down to exit 114 presumably to be put in the line to go all the way around into the east tollbooth. I knew from experience not to do this and so we somehow got the entire group (6 cars) to get off at exit 114, go across the bridge and get right back onto the interstate to go back to exit 111. We got back in the that same line and got to our camp about 2am, it was 3 rows to the south of Bushy Branch Road and one campsite east of Shakedown. I'd say about an 8 min walk to the arch. West Tollbooth is the way to go, if you go in the East you are taking a chance of being put in the far back right-hand corner of the map and having a 30+ min walk to centeroo.

This happened to our caravan last year.. about 6 cars too. So you're saying you just took the exit, made a big loop and got back in the line again lol? dunno why we didn't think about this. If it happens this year, we will try this out and see.. Bushy Branch entrance is where it's at.

Yeah we just went over the exit 114 overpass and got right back onto the interstate. We could've gotten in the I24 entrance line as well, but I wanted Bushy Branch. I've gotten the best spots from going in Bushy Branch, it puts you right in the middle of roo.
Hey what's going on everybody?! First time going to roo from San Antonio. Me and my sis go to ACL every year but finally pulled the trigger this year for roo. Anyways my question is how late can you show up to the farm and still get a spot for tent only? Asking on behalf of my sister who is camping with her BF. I'm driving up with a few friends. I'm Eric btw, and thanks for the time

last year was my first roo and i flew in solo, took a coach, got to tent only shortly after lunch on thursday. i found a spot by the road, super close to all the action. it was great weather last year EXCEPT monday... the clayish rain from the road flooded my tent- i had to leave my tent, sleeping bag, mat, etc cause everything was soaked with mud and there was no way i was going to make things shrink back up for busses and airplanes. all i'm saying... is consider where the water will go if it pours :-)
Is Bushy Branch the west entrance near the Walmart? Whichever entrance that was gave our group awesome spots.
Both the West tollbooth and East tollbooth are actually on bushy branch road. To get to the West one (which does seem to get better spots) take exit 111. The Walmart is off of exit 114 and that will put you on a country road that winds all the way around the back side of Roo to go into the East entrance (which tends to get worse camping spots).

Exit 111 is where they suggest the Access campers exit the highway.

Hmmm last year after we left the walmart we go into the entrance on the west site, on the map it's where the pulp fiction and Star Wars camp sites are.

What's an access camper? If your talking about RVs then those are actually supposed to go in the I-24 entrance on the interstate between Exits 111 and 114.

You probably got back onto the interstate then, right? I'm pretty positive that you can go get in either line from the Walmart, just remember to get back on I-24 so that you come into Roo from the west.

Yeah we did, seems like that's the only way to get over to that entrance, thanks for the tip man!

No problemo, I'd rather inforooers get better spots than the rest of the masses.

Access like disabled. Access campgrounds(named after Star Wars characters) are close to the tower entrance to centeroo so people with mobility issues don't have to hoof it from Griffin land. Thanks for the info, I'll pass it on to whoever may need it.

that back corner is exactly 1.47 miles to centeroo. Trust me...it sucks!

Yeah the two years that I got put back there were 2010 and 2011, which were both hot and dusty (2011 was some brutal heat). Being back there pretty much eliminates you from being able to come back to camp in the middle of the day cause it will take over a hour round trip to go back to camp and then come back. 2010 was a rookie mistake, but in 2011 me and a buddy actually couldn't leave until thursday about noon and our group had already come in on Wednesday night. So we came in the West entrance to go to day parking and then had to carry all of our stuff all the way across Roo. When we found out we were camped in the far back corner again, we were like yall seriously made this mistake two years in a row.
